      @@mattross6902 After it was stored for winter I noticed it smokes every time I start it. Changed oil and oil filer as well as air filter. Didn't help. I had it serviced by the local Power Equipment Dealer I bought it from and they are telling me I need to replace the carburetor because I did not drain all fuel for the winter or used the special ethanol free gas they sell (So I broke it...). They also said this would not be covered by warranty and total cost is over $600. This does not seem right as the machine was only stirred for 3 months between uses. Is there anything I can do to clean the carburetor or change it myself

    I've had a Liberty Z for about 5 years now. The only trouble I've had is the yellow PTO switch that engages the blades went bad and caused a no start. It was easily and cheaply replaced with one from Amazon. It was still under warranty but it was easier and cheaper (not having to burn gas towing it to the dealer) to do it myself. Scag makes a great zero turn.

    • @mattross6902

      Yes very accessible components. I've changed engine and hydro oil and filters. Added gas and aired the tires. Sharpened blades once. That's it.

    ALSO: About 10 hours after I changed hydro fluid and filters, I noticed the fluid in the reservoir appeared to be dark, discolored. I called the company that makes the Hydro pumps, the guy told me to dip my finger in there (there is no dip stick just Hot and Cold level lines) the oil on my finger looked brand new! For some reason the opaque reservoir looks deceiving. He said I was not the first one to call with that concern.

      @@mattross6902 Hi Matt,
      The range of movement is identical to the left side. I have spoken with the dealership tech and two things came from that meeting… I’m past my warranty by 4 months and he furnished me with a pdf of all his shop manuals which are by far in excess information than a standard owners manual. His estimation there is a blockage in the internal shaft port preventing fluid from bypassing. In short it’s a teardown.

    • @mattallisi6572
      @mattallisi6572 2 роки тому +2

      Hopefully you completed this successfully but if not and for others..Yes it is good to have the entire mower up in the air on jackstands. The oil filters and the covers/guards are easier to see if you remove the rear tires. Stock the filters are on via Godzilla strength so a good oil filter plier is needed. A filter socket didn't work for me because of limited space between the filter and the frame. With the tires/wheels off you can get an decent size oil pan under.
      I wouldn't do this without it jacked up and wheels off.
