@@anickelsworthbiblereviews It’s very good! It’s cool that you’ve taken a liking to the Douay, it’s a great Bible and I love to see more people being aware of it! I hope one day an edition comparable to the quality of a Schuyler can be produced.
The Eye of God is a symbol that is representative of divine watchfulness, of the Supreme Being taking care of the entire universe. It is shown as a single human eye enclosed in a triangle and often surrounded by clouds or burst of light. Also known as the 'All-Seeing Eye' and 'Eye of Providence', the symbol has been used since the ancient times to signify the omniscience and omnipresence of God and His powerful, preserving and guarding character.
Thank you so much. I have wanted a Hidok bible for a long time. I didn't realize how much information was in one. Thank you so much. I will have to check one out for myself. God bless you and your holy garden.
The eye of providence probably has its origins in iconography, since in iconography, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit may be depicted, but God the Father cannot so an eye or hand is used instead.
My copy is unfortunately glue bound, but I am so in love with this Bible I will probably get it rebound if possible. Where did you order your copy with the sewn binding?
Thank you for these videos. I recently purchased this after watching your review (used your link), but what is a little concerning on this one is that it appears glued and not sewn. I'm judging from what I'm seeing through the plastic wrap as I might return this. In this review, you mentioned it was sewn. I just wanted to double check if this is indeed the case or if I'm just seeing something different. If it is glued any opinions on such quality of these over the long term? Thank you!
I’ll have to go back and look, but I know I wouldn’t say it’s sewn unless I knew it was. I can’t see it listed anywhere so I must have either asked or saw it. I know their regular DR is heavily glued, but it is also sewn. It was hard for me to see the stitches, but they are there.
@@anickelsworthbiblereviews Thank you so much! I did actually actually call and after some time they did confirm it was sewn. So I'll take that and crack it open. I noticed as well on amazon someone claimed it was glued, but it might just be in the way it looks on the side. I know the "great adventure timeline" initial run pulled that where it looks sewn but was actually glued. They've since fixed that.
For all those resources available in this Bible, it's too bad the publisher didn't think to add one or two more ribbons. Interesting topic regarding the all seeing eye. It also made me think of the Eye of Sauron in the Lord of the Rings.

The Haydock Bible is one of the best Bibles I own. The commentary in the footnotes, the articles, and the artwork push it to a whole different level.
I’m looking forward to getting into it.

I understand what each group says it means. But what it actually means predates most of our understanding.
It depends who you consider to be God, the God of this world eg The Demiurge.
Just like the eyes represented in Ezekiel and Revelation (all knowing and all seeing).

About two inches if memory serves me right. It’s a big one. About 8.5x11 footprint.
