It never ceases to amaze me that people feel they have the right to impose their negativity on others 😡 Have a wonderful much deserved vacation Memo 🏝️😀🇨🇦
I always enjoy every minute of your videos! You deserve the mother of all breaks for working so hard, and you deserve to be free from hate on your holiday. Have fun!
@@Houseplantygoodness Always! I truly enjoy your content 💚 It made me very sad to hear you were getting negative comments.. I’m sorry some people are leaving those. Have a wonderful time on vacation and please don’t worry too much about having videos coming out while you’re away. We would much rather you enjoy your time and feel refreshed than get content that stressed you to pre film and edit. Also, maybe this is silly, but I think it would be fun to have a gauge earring tour? You have so many! I personally would get a kick out of seeing them 😊
Memo. I haven't even watched this and I'm mad about it. How dare you say End Of Summer...! Cheers, in advance, from Iowa City. Where ... yeah. We're enjoying the end of summer 😅 *Great updates! I love the idea of just waiting out thrips for the winter to do its work. Have a great holiday. My God you work hard.....
Hey Dave, Ah, the dreaded "End of Summer"-Iowa City must be feeling it too soon! 😅 Thanks for the cheers, and I’m happy you enjoyed the updates! Thrips really don't stand a chance in the winter in my experience. Take care and enjoy the last bit of summer! ☀️
I get you! I’ve also been in love with a plant, something happens that I’m not too thrilled about it (usually pest sickness) and then once it’s healthy I’m excited again 😂
Yes preparing to go away is hard work and I’d say stay off whilst your on holiday personal as you deserve a full and enjoyable break. Thanks for another great video x
Plants that surprised me: I once had a common kind of diffenbachia bought as a small plant at a supermarket, shoved to the back of a shelf where it lived a feral life, watered in place and unattended. When I finally took it out of its spot it was huuuuuuge, leaves the size of wheels, perfect in every respect. I was soo in awe of what a cheap common plant can do ! ❤ And then I dropped the pot and broke the plant and could not save it, but that's a different story ETA: aw, don't let the haters depress you!
Wow, what a story! 🌱 It’s amazing how resilient even the most common plants can be. Sorry to hear about the plant accident, but that Diffenbachia must’ve been a sight to see! And don’t worry, the haters won’t get me down-thank you for the support! ❤️
Yes, an August update ❤ your Skeleton Key looks beautiful 😍 this is the first time I have seen this plant and thought "it's really pretty". And yes to backup plants, and don't we all know what happens when both end up healthy? Yeah, we all know how the collection grows fast 😂 I chopped up a Calathea to test out in semi-hydro. Now both semi-hydro and soil are doing good and now what am I supposed to do? 😂 As for plants that unexpectedly bring you joy after a while: I had an Aglaonema for a while now. It grew rather straggly, you know the look: long bare stem, a few leaves. I was on the verge of getting rid of it, but I kept it and kept watering and fertilizing. Two years later it pups like crazy, it grew really bushy and it pushes out 2-3 leaves a month. Now it even starts flowering. So glad I kept it. ❤ Maybe it's another one that wants to be slightly rootbound before pushing out new growth. Have a nice holiday and don't stress yourself out with videos. Enjoy your time off
The Skeleton Key is a beauty, isn’t it? 😍 Backup plants can be both a blessing and a curse-your collection just keeps growing! 😂 That Aglaonema sounds like it’s thriving now. Thanks for the encouragement, and I promise to enjoy the holiday stress-free! ❤
I pull caladium tubers when the leaves dry up and put them in a cardboard box and place it in a dry cool area and pull them out in may/April when you can keep the temps above 60/65 f not sure what it is in Celsius
That water flipping out of the cup, I nearly peed myself 😂😂😂 On the Philo Subhastatum; mine is on a mosspole and still sooooo slow growing 🥱 Enjoy your holiday and let the comments be until you get back! You don't need that kind of negativity in your day to day life, let alone on holiday 🙄 Enjoy and relaxxxx 😊❤️
😂 glad you enjoyed the water moment, it made me chuckle too in editing! Your Subhastatum will get there-moss poles do wonders in time. And thank you! I’ll definitely relax and let the comments wait while I’m on holiday. 😊❤️
Philodendron Subhastatum- you can use a bendable cheap moss pole. You will have two things for this-It will have a stable pole to wrap around and you’ll still be able to see the back red leaves
I purchased my first Caladium this year, and it's absolutely gorgeous. It's red, whereas yours is white. I definitely plan on keeping the tubers at the end of this growing season. We all hate the idea that our beloved plants will stop growing so vigorously, only to be thrilled when you get one leaf every eight weeks. I won't mention the propagation process.😢
Your Caladium sounds stunning! 🌱 The red ones are so vibrant. Keeping the tubers is definitely the way to go for that spring revival. Totally feel you on the slow winter growth-it’s a test of patience for sure!
Great job with all the moss poles! I need to do a couple more soon for my Philo micans aurea and Monstera standleyana babies. That Monstera acuminata is interesting! I already have an adansonii on a pole, so I don't know if I would try to get one this season. Maybe in the future, I'm trying to stop acquiring plants soon since winter is coming. 🥶 I am properly scared of thrips. I'm a newer plant parent and have so far dealt with mealybugs and I'm pretty sure whitefly? The whitefly seemed kind of random, I would have thought I'd get spider mites, flat mites, or even the dreaded scale before whitefly. They seem much more common for houseplants around here. Thrips and spider mites seem like a special kind of hell, I suppose it's only a matter of time before I find out fist hand. Time to get a serious pest prevention plan! ETA: Regarding pests, I forgot the time I found a solitary black vine weevil on my gloriosum. My best guess is it hitched a ride in with some camping gear. Saw that dude and was just like, wth? *immediately take photos, dispatch the intruder, and run to google* 😂
Thanks! Moss poles are a game-changer, especially for those babies. 🌿 Winter prep is real, but sounds like you’ve got it under control. Thrips and pests are the worst-I’m here if you need any tips on keeping them at bay! Stay strong, new plant parent! 💚🌿
I love your soil moss poles. I've been trying something different with mine because moss by myself is a pain in the --- to keep up with. I did 50% tree fern fiber and 50% moss mixed together. As you may know, tree fern is not very cheap, so mayyyybe, I can add soil mix to that tree fern to make it last a whole lot more 🤔
That mix sounds intriguing! 🌿 Tree fern fiber is definitely pricey, but mixing it with soil might just be the trick to making it last longer. Thanks for sharing your experience-moss upkeep can be a pain, but it’s so worth it!
Spewing hatred anywhere is vile, but on someone who makes plant videos? That's so stupid 🤷♀ Don't worry about leaving us without for a couple of weeks, just enjoy yourself ❤💚
How are you finding those predatory mites (the one on the monstera that looks like an adansonii)? I have them deployed in my cabinet at the moment for spidermite and they are doing an amazing job!
Those predatory mites are doing a fantastic job! 🕷 They’ve been a real game-changer for managing pests in my space-glad to hear they’re working well for you too!
Maybe it's a Cypriot thing but I've also avoid3d mosspoles until recently. Within 3 weeks, my p. Billy shot giant roots into the moss and gave me two insane Leaves so it's time to drink the Kool aid

You’re too kind! 😊 I’m definitely going to enjoy this break, and I appreciate the good vibes. No hate allowed on this holiday! 🌴

Nothing like a well-deserved holiday, right? ❤ I’m looking forward to some rest and recharging!

Welcome back! 🌱 I’m so glad you’re here to enjoy the plants with me again. It’s all about those close-up moments-thanks for watching!
I love a plant dad with personality..Thank you! Now....get going on holiday.we will all be here when you return/

Great tip! 🌱 Storing those tubers right is key to a good Caladium comeback. Your method sounds perfect for keeping them healthy and ready for spring!
Nice summer growth! Have a well deserved vacation Memo!

So glad you enjoyed the update! 🌱 Lots of good news to share this time around-thanks for watching!
Have a nice holiday, Memo 🙂
Thanks so much! 😊 I’ll definitely make the most of it and come back refreshed! Still 3 weeks to go before I am off 😅
Hope you have an awesome vaca!! 🥳 Oh yea always so much work preparing to go away 🤣😂
I have my philodendron substratum on a moss pole and my leaves are gorgeous. And yes the leaves have faded.
Moss poles do wonders, right? 🌿 Glad to hear your Philodendron is thriving! Even with some fading, those leaves must be beautiful.
😂 …”I don’t have ADHD, I promise”. I wouldn’t care if you did. I’m enjoying the video. Thanks!
Same. There's nothing wrong with having ADHD.
-source: me with ADHD and still managing somehow. 😅
@@-shenanigans.I have exactly the same too 😆
😂 Thanks so much! I’m glad you’re enjoying the video-ADHD or not, we're all in this plant journey together! 🌱

OMG, I absolutely adore the pots of the first 2 plants you showed. Where did you get them? 🤩
Aren’t they just adorable?! 😍 I got those pots from North, one of the commentors on here too, instagram.com/phytoexotica

Can you do more like repot videos or plant styling plz
More repotting and plant styling-got it! 🪴 I’ll definitely add that to the list for future videos. Thanks for the suggestion!
I have my substratum in a pole in bright lighting and it grows like a weed.
On a moss pole!
Bright light and a pole-sounds like the perfect combo for rapid growth! 🌱 Glad to hear your plant is thriving!

Sounds like moss poles are winning you over! 🍃 Those new leaves must be amazing to see-time to embrace the moss pole life!
