As a Dust Commander owner I can tell you that there is no conflict between the airflow inlet as it curls under itself, because the mixing of the two airflows is part of the design, and it reinforces the vortex effect. It costs twice the price of your Chinese junk for a good reason.

Hi, what is the good reason you are referring to?

I recently just purchased the cheaper one from fleabay, it doesn't have the nuts and bolts on the lid any more just sealed well. I found the cyclone on the cheap one works well enough to do the job well and saved myself £20 in the process. Great video DIY UK.

I have both models and the ''Dust Commander'' does imo perform a tiny bit better than the 6th gen.

    Interesting, thank you!
But the open question is: How well do they separate coarse dust, and in particular: How well do they separate very fine dust?
Therefore it is important to make a comparison in real use, even with very fine dust.
It can very well be that turbulence in the flow, and a slightly larger angle in the air flow, has a great effect on the result.

Good points - did you compare using them to collect dust?

I have been using the white one and it is working really well. I made a video and I will publish it on UA-cam soon. I haven’t used the black one. But there are a few videos on UA-cam about the black one.

This is a link to a video I made when I tested the 6th generation dust collector/separator cyclone:

Good review but you forgot to mention something very important. The black one have the material treated against static electricity, very important thing preventing the fire inside the bucket . A lot of peoples doesn't know how dangerous is the fine dust in a closed space (explode).

Thanks for your comment. I am yet to see a report by an independent body saying that a lot of carpenters got their workshops blown up or burned just because they aren’t using cyclones at rip-off prices.
P.S. are you aware that there are a number of videos on UA-cam describing how to earth dust collection systems in workshops?.
      Best regards. DIY-UK

Take a dryer sheet to the insides and give a wipe.

You quite often say ‚I believe‘ … maybe believes are better kept in church. You measure diameter but do not compare to hose diameters often used by mainstream manufacturers Festtool, Bosch, Makita, Kaercher, Nilfisk, … and there are a couple mor flaws in it.
So IMO this video was not worth the 15 mins watching it.
