Fitting Car Tyre valve to a Garden Pressure Sprayer

This is how I fitted car tyre (tire) valve to my garden pressure sprayer (pesticide pump sprayer). This ways so I don’t have to use the pump (plunger) to pressurize the sprayer but instead I can use an air compressor to easily and quickly add air to the sprayer and pump it up.

      Hi. The wood is not 2x4. It is 1.5"x2.5" CLS timber from B&Q. The brackets are the same size. I don't know the name of manufacturer. It is a cheap Chinese winch from eBay. But works really well. Max load is 100kg when 2 winching cables are used.

    I just added a regular rubber valve to mine. Put a 9/16" hole in it and pulled the valve through with a valve puller. I pumped it up as much as humanly possible with two bad shoulders and checked the air pressure and found it to be 32- 33 psi. In my 2 gallon sprayer I can put 32-35 psi. It may be different (less or more) in others. No leaks and works great. I couldn't see trying to tighten down a screw type in it until I saw your video. But the regular rubber one works fine too, very easy to get it in.

    As a Dust Commander owner I can tell you that there is no conflict between the airflow inlet as it curls under itself, because the mixing of the two airflows is part of the design, and it reinforces the vortex effect. It costs twice the price of your Chinese junk for a good reason.

      Hi John, thanks for your comment. It is quite interesting. Over the past 38 years together with my electrical engineering degree (from UK uni.) I learnt a few things about electricity. Plus a few bells and whistles from working in a few countries. That is why I have connected these wires this way this time, which is adequate for this particular application. If it was me I would’ve, instead, asked “why and what is the rationale behind connecting the wires this way which some people might think it is not correct?” then you could’ve, probably, learned a new thing :-) Take care

No possible movement to generate sparks. Total current 0.2amp

    You quite often say ‚I believe‘ … maybe believes are better kept in church. You measure diameter but do not compare to hose diameters often used by mainstream manufacturers Festtool, Bosch, Makita, Kaercher, Nilfisk, … and there are a couple mor flaws in it. So IMO this video was not worth the 15 mins watching it.

    Stated as not a how-to but really it is, otherwise why show it? This video is a great example of what you should NEVER do. Simply twisting home power wires together and taping is asking for deadly trouble. It's too big a risk that they will part company someday or become a high resistance connection = heat = fire. I'll wager an electrical trainer somewhere is using this video to show how muggles can kill themselves.

    I have just purchased one of these on the unpacking at 4.11 you cans see a bolt piece in the bottom of the turning rod, which he then removes to test the turn, then put back. He does not attach Auger bit. I have unboxed mine and it did not have this just the rod sticking out with the hole through it. The auger goes over this, not tightly and not to the base of machine the holes are floating midway, so the securing bolt will obviously need ability to take pressure. Supplied was a metal black bolt with a hole which again is not tight but very loose through the holes. A very skinny split pin is provided to go through her the bolt hole. Trouble is the bolts hole is not near auger, so there is play in the bolt back and forth, the auger is not tight in the rod, and the pin just falls into the bolts hole up to its top. None of this looks strong enough to attach the very heavy top to the drilling auger,. The pin supplied is not much bigger than a hair clip...

    Nice video. From time of video 14.10 till 14:38 we see wire rope to be wound. Can you tell us wipe rope mouvement in horizontal direction is done by own or you driven somehow? I have same installation and unfortunatelly I forced to driven wire rope in order to be wound evenly. Other wise by own wound in the same point.

    • @DIY-UK
      @DIY-UK 3 роки тому

      Hi, sorry for the delay in my reply. At that time, the wire rope was wound and moving horizontally by itself. That because at that time I wound the cable neatly on the spool. But nowadays the cable is moving horizontally in a random fashion as the cable is not wound neatly on the spool anymore, because of repeated use and sometimes having too much slack in the tension of the wire rope. I hope I my answer is meaningful.

    Interesting, thank you! But the open question is: How well do they separate coarse dust, and in particular: How well do they separate very fine dust? Therefore it is important to make a comparison in real use, even with very fine dust. It can very well be that turbulence in the flow, and a slightly larger angle in the air flow, has a great effect on the result.
