  • Your man Salty looks at the shill media puff-piece 'COPE' around the low-viewed and low audience rated DOCTOR WHO full 'reboot' with NCUTI GATWA. In particular we look at what a show producer say was RUSSELL T DAVIES inspiration for the completely NOT DOCTOR WHO CHANGES made in regards to quitting the 60 years of SCI-FI vibe and instead turning to FANTASY with "controversial" messaging directed at Gen Z Tik-Tok kids who quite honestly have zero interest in the show. That's right- DISNEY ANIMATION, and in particular PIXAR STUDIOS recent slate of box office failures that focused on race, sexuality and ideology.
This was the video I was working when the Millie Gibson story broke, so it was delayed a couple days.

Trying to influence kids thinking by using a character in a tv show that's being packaged as a kids show, but it clearly isn't. Isn't this called grooming? Is the BBC and RTD grooming kids? Why does the show need to have a message? Why can't it be harmless adventures in space and time, you know, like it used to before they screwed it all up?!

By RTD's own admission putting his sexuality, ideology and personal politics into his work, regardless of the audience, is 'like breathing'. In fact, he championed the Jason Noble (20 year male in a dress pretending to be 15 year old girl) as key to the franchise... and has he stated: 'The MESSAGING IS FOR THE KIDS'

Almost every children's program conveys a significant message. For example, the 1941 movie "Dumbo" can be perceived as a narrative on conquering discrimination and valuing individual uniqueness. Dumbo, the protagonist, endures mockery and alienation due to his oversized ears, symbolizing any type of difference that may face stigma. Similarly, "The Jungle Book" from 1967 explores themes of acceptance and cultural assimilation. The story of Mowgli, who grows up among animals in the jungle and later confronts challenges with his own kind, subtly addresses notions of identity and belonging. In a more modern example, the 2008 film "WALL-E" addresses the themes of environmental neglect and consumerism. WALL-E, a garbage-collecting robot on a deserted Earth, emphasizes the repercussions of excessive consumption and ecological neglect.
Claiming that the integration of political themes in shows is a new trend ignores the extensive history of television and cinema incorporating social and political elements into their stories, a tradition extending to the earliest forms of literature. This is a fundamental aspect of artistic expression.
Regarding "Doctor Who," the series has long integrated contemporary issues into its episodes. "The Green Death" from 1973 highlights environmental concerns and corporate irresponsibility, focusing on a corporation whose toxic waste mutates local wildlife, mirroring the era's growing environmental awareness. The 1988 episode "The Happiness Patrol" is often interpreted as a satire on the Thatcher administration in the UK, with the antagonist Helen A symbolizing Margaret Thatcher's authoritative leadership style. The 2005 episode "The Long Game" delves into themes of media control and information manipulation, increasingly pertinent in the digital age. The 2017 episode "Oxygen" critiques capitalism and corporate greed, depicting a future where even air is a commodity and workers' lives are deemed expendable. Lastly, the 2021 episode "Revolution of the Daleks" explores political manipulation and the use of fear for societal control, mirroring current global political dynamics.

It’s incredible to me how Disney is today. Like everyone else of my age, I grew up in the 1970s watching Disney films like The Rescuers and The Jungle Book and Herbie. We all watched The Wonderful World of Disney on Sunday evenings and I was always in the cinema for Saturday matinees watching stuff like Escape from Witch Mountain or whatever. My favourite by a long shot was The Black Hole ! I saw that a few times! It was the very first Disney movie that didn’t have a “U” certificate! Deemed a bit scary, it had an “A” certificate! It was brilliant. And I think it still is!
Fast forward to today … and there’s all the overt and subtle sexuality, anti-family and gender stuff, and on top of that, the first F-bomb being dropped in a Disney movie: Guardians of the Galaxy 3! I mean, what the actual duck?! The F-bomb?!?!
Walt Disney must be spinning like a top in his cryogenic chamber. It’s like we all fell through the Looking Glass (a la Alice in Wonderland; another classic Disney film) together around 2015 and I can’t stand it. I feel sorry for the kids today who aren’t getting the good and innocent films that we all did - but are fed a diet of post-modernist propaganda poorly disguised as entertainment with a side activism.
I feel like Disney Corp. has become corrupted and is actually evil now.

I know. Its shocking how bad Disney is today for, well everything. I am in the UK and also grew up with the Wonderful World of Disney on Tv. Mary Poppins, Bed Knobs and Broomsticks etc. All utter classics. I went to see the Black Hole at the cinema too. My brother and I bought and read the Disney annuals and dreamed of being rich enough to go to Disney Land one day. We even saw Bambi and Pinocchio at the cinema as they were re released. The very first film I ever saw at the movies was the Rescuers. Utter classics. Now, everything they make is either bad, or woke or both. They cant do the family fun entertainment anymore. Its totally alien to them now. Its looked down on. Each weekend I visit my elderly parents for Sunday lunch, and just yesterday, while we were sitting having tea at about 5pm my father was channel hopping. And the thing he settled on to watch was Mary Poppins. Of all things it was being shown on broadcast Tv last night. And I was reading the newspaper and half listening and watching, my mum was moaning at my father for picking it, then ended up watching and laughing at it as well. Next thing I know they are singing along! And they are in their 80s!!!! I got really weepy, for my youth, for them, and for what we have lost over the years. And I had to say to them, that Disney no longer makes things like Mary Poppins, message free family fun for straight normal families. Its not because they cant. Its because they wont. They would rather lose money, than admit they are wrong. Its such a shame.

PS. And let’s not forget Disney’s The Rocketeer! Absolute perfection! One of my favourite films of all time.
We can kiss that kind of film goodbye too.

Oh yeah, he did what Disney wanted.

Roy E. Disney (Roy's son and Walt's nephew) was the LAST member of the Disney family to be involved in the company in any capacity. Roy E.'s daughter, Abigail, is an SJW who uses her family name as both bludgeon and bankroll in her activism - with connections to WEF as well.
If there is any hope for family-oriented entertainment, it rests in other studios such as WB or Dreamworks, or in the overseas anime market - the Walt Disney Company has abandoned its century-old legacy and will never look back

    • @SaltyTravelingC

It is sad. I think all of us wanted RTD to be successful, to give us something like 70% of the good relaunch vibe and most of all to completely disavow 'The Timeless Child'. But Doctor Who is objectively a dead and flattened franshise... and he took the opportunity to use it as a skinsuit for his personal (and BBC) agenda, animated with Disney dollars and Disney DEI.

If the Beeb - and RTD - were really in charge they wouldn’t throw Millie Gibson under the bus and put some POC in her place.
Obviously Disney is still biting from losing cricket rights in the subcontinent (thanks a lot Hotstar!!!) so hopefully getting a Bollywood actor to be the Doctor’s new companion should open up a whole new market for said series
What next - a Korean Doctor???

I appreciate your optimism, but I'm not sure your faith in Russell or the Beeb are entirely earned or warranted. They both have a terrible track record too. Dis isn't the only problem here- in fact, if I were to find out that they had nothing to do with this particular development I wouldn't be particularly surprised.

I see no harm in looking to Pixar to inspire a one-off special or episode.
Toy Story could be an interesting model for a story about a micro-universe that is being picked apart by its master, while there's enough emotional substance from a film like Up to service RTD's writing.
The issue? The heart isn't there because the agenda has superseded it.

    • @SaltyTravelingC
      @SaltyTravelingC  6 місяців тому

BINGO. Even 'Wild blue Yonder' was like a piece of nostalgic Tennant era mediocre candy with a huge, bitter toxic agenda nuclear bomb at it's center- making Tennant's Doctor gay to enable the IDENTITY-BASED promotion by the BBC and Disney of Ncuti Gatwa.
Play Agenda games, win Agenda prizes... Meaning flop.

So, are they saying he wanted it to be like a Pixar film, because Disney also owns Pixar? Not sure i understand any other reason for a reach of a connection... once again, a vicious circle of reference fodder.. I guess its like they say, "if you can't beat them, join them".

It feels more necromancy, animating the dead franchise (post-Chibnall, Whittaker, Time Child) to use the Who name but make it low IQ, Tik-Tok generation, half-baked, representation heavy, C-tier MCU show. The dysfunctional behind the scenes is more interesting than what is on screen.
