    WINNING AT LIFE
    @Life411 is about cars now, but will evolve to share winning strategies for the game of life. Here's the Bottom Line that shaped our lives:
    ✅We cannot change our past. We can only learn from it.
    ✅Happiness is not a function of money or social status. It is a function of family, friends and spirituality.
    ✅Great things are accomplished because we didn't know how hard they would be when we began.
    ✅Every person has the ability to improve the life of someone else. Yup, that's why I'm doing this!

    Great video man. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. It’s my dream car and hopefully I’ll get one next year. As a potential
    Buyer what are the key things I should look for in a second hand 4C when assessing if it’s a good buy or not?
    Thank you 🙏 kindly

      My pleasure and glad you like the video. I guess to answer your question, would this be a dream car and long-term hold or something just for a few years that you would then resell?

      @@Life411 I am 41 and it’s 2023, I live in the UK and in a decade from now the countdown for the end of ICE cars will “tick tock” stronger than ever. I’ve been drooling over the 4C ever since I saw its presentation (2013) and never dreamed of being in a position to afford one. Next year I will be. And given the chance if it is living up to my expectations I want to buy a good specimen that will last me as long as I can physically drive deep into my old age (even if forced to convert it into EV to legally be able to). So I am here for the long game. :)

      Thanks for the add'l context and congrats on getting to a place where you can get your dream car! The 4C is amazing and I'm sure you'll love it. Here are the things I'd watch out for and since you're in the UK I don't know if it's as easy to know these things:
      1) Is it a salvage title? In other words, has the car been in an accident? If so, are you Ok with whatever damage and repairs?
      2) Bolt Tightening & Timing Belt change are recommended at relatively low miles on the 4C. In the US these two items could cost 2-3k USD is my understanding which is a big ticket, so know in advance.
      3) Do you know what you want? Color, Spider vs Coupe, FE vs later model, stock vs enhancements. Once you decide, then check the forums for data on availability. For example, if you love a certain color that is rare, you might have a long wait or want to have a backup choice that you'd be happy with. You can always wrap after all! If you're enamored with the FEs, one interesting tidbit I heard is that it may actually be one of the most common specs because the production numbers plummeted in subsequent years. So FEs may not be 'rare' per se.
      Personally, I'd probably look for a later model. Mine's a 2015, but I think some refinements were made subsequently.
      Have you test driven one? If you're tall, you should. It's a challenge for me at 188cm. Also, if this is a factor, the Spider is easier to get in when you can drive topless.
      That's all I can think of. Hope it helps. Feel free to reach out if you have other questions when you start your search.
      Cheers!

    It's your battery........I keep a charger on mine to keep the voltage up. Especially if you still have the factory battery. My BEST suggestion would be upgrade to Launch Edition 4c as it was a REFERENCE build and only 500 built for USA 🇺🇸 Future collectors item.......😉

    • @Life411
      @Life411  Рік тому

      I've got a new battery and have only had one CEL since, so Yes, I believe the CELs were from a weak battery. Regarding the LEs, someone made an interesting point once on that, since the 4C had such low production #s, 500 LEs actually make that one of the most common variants/years. I'm not arguing with you, but it is something to think about. Thanks for watching!

      @@Life411 I'm not sure about that assessment......the LE's build quality and features are much BETTER. I have a Launch Edition here in Australia which 88 were made.....the difference in price currently is 20-35k between normal and LE 4C. I have owned my LE for 3.5 years and it's APPRECIATED 25k during this time frame.. The 4c will SKYROCKET in 2 to 3 years and will easily be fetching over 100k for a Launch Edition....purchasing a Launch Edition 4c was ONE of the SMARTEST moves I ever made. Instant Future Classic.

    • @Life411
      @Life411  Рік тому

      @@hombrealfisti3997 maybe the financials work differently in Australia, but here in the US I haven't seen those differences. In fact, I could have picked up a launch edition during the price craziness of the lockdowns for just a few thousand dollars more than the one I have

      @@Life411 BTW I'm American.......I've been monitoring the 4c in the US market and I'm starting to see the 4c creep up in value in the US market. I've seen LE's going for $40-45k pre pandemic are now $55-60k......that's steady progress and once the LE's hitting the 10 year mark is going to skyrocket. I agree the Australian market for Alfa Romeo 4c is slightly different as Alfa Romeo has always sold cars in Australia so their following is slightly stronger. From what I see from the American Market the 4c will follow the trend of the Australian Market and this car will be above 100k USD in 3-5 years and everyone will be kicking themselves for not jumping on the Launch Edition while they were CHEAP. 😉

    Much like you, I have a list as well. The problem with my list is that several cars get marked off when I find out that I do not fit in them. At 6'6" tall I do not fit in everything that I would like to drive. When you were speaking of the 4C feeling like wearing a wetsuit, I can relate to that, because I scuba dive, however I can't walk into a dive shop and buy a suit off the rack. Mine have to be ordered from one of the few companies that will make something to fit me. For perspective, I can drive an F-type Jaguar, but I wear it like a glove (or wetsuit).
    If you have an opinion on how tall a driver can be in a 4C, I am interested in hearing your opinion.

    • @Life411
      @Life411  Рік тому

      Thanks for watching. I'd love to know what some of the cars are on your list and any that you've had to remove due to them not working with your height.
      Bottom line for me is always test driving a car that I'm interested in. I'm 6'2" plus a smidge, but it also depends on proportions...I've got long legs whereas some people have long torsos, etc. Are you in an area where there might be a 4C you could test drive? In Raleigh where I live, it took years before I finally found one listed locally that I could test drive.
      In both my Elise and 4C, I have the seats all the way back and feel like I'd be hitting the steering wheel or something with my knees if I were significantly taller. But again, it all depends on your build. Hope this helps. Peter

    Why don’t you wrap the car in your desired colour?

    • @Life411
      @Life411  Рік тому

      I thought about it, but that is an additional investment and not necessarily the only thing I would want different in a 4C. I might prefer a spider, some different wheels and maybe some ECU upgrades. I did however just add a cool graphic to the roof. I love that! Have you seen the video? Thanks for watching.
