Own a 4C 2015 LE coupe that I bought new. Some comments in this review are spot on....others not so. First the prop rod and boot release. Never have had any problems with mine releasing....just a matter of an adjustment. The prop rod follows the entire design of the car.....it was chosen rather than a hydraulic lift to save weight. The windows are thinner for the same reason, No insulation for the same reason. The trunk release also provides a more secure lock than an exterior one. Surprised he didn't mention any tramming issues....that is because some cars did have tramming issues due to messed up alignment when being shipped. That was fixed with newer cars mostly with a alignment check. But the real reason is that the stock tires really have stiff sidewalls and with the unassisted steering all road surface changes, etc. are fed back to the driver. Often owners put to much air in the tires....they need to be at maximum listed in specs 29R/26F. Just changing to Michelin SS tires on my car made a dramatic improvement in every way. The engine and trans "learn" how you drive the car so over the course of a few hundred miles the trans becomes smoother and very responsive...and the engine torque allows a huge range of power from low rpm up. The car rewards good driving technic such as trail braking and rolling on gas out of a corner and unwinding as speed comes up. If you are understeering you are not using good braking technic. There is quite a support industry for the car now with a few minor mods that make the car into a beast. Check some UA-cam vids by Tom Burgess....tracking 4C. Finally....I belong to a Forum for the car with owners from all over the world. Turns out the 4C has proven to be pretty much bullet proof. With the exception of a broken button mine has been faultless. I have owned many cars domestic, European, and Japanese including some SCCA race cars. The 4C is the only car I have driven that can match the feel of those race cars....it is a real drivers car. Sadly most cars sold today have lost that feel....they have become bloated cars compared to their older models.
ROBERT BERTA I agree 100%. It’s a car that has some room for drivers to improve the driving skills unlike most present day German sports cars dialed already good and very small room to adjust. I love mine and every time I take it out....full focus required with the useless radio off.
Can this gentleman get one of the new Top Gear positions? He's informative while still being entertaining and he's not trying too hard. He's like talking to a car buddy.
“Screw those cars, the 4C makes you feel alive” Everybody thinks they’re going to live forever. The 4C is for us people who realize, we don’t. Enjoy your life, enjoy irrational things, like this piece of art.
One of the best reviews. I recently drove my friends 4c, and that’s exactly what I felt, from the steering, the balance, the turbo in the corners. You touched all of that precisely.
See this guy is no bullshit, he'll be honest and tell you all the flaws of the car. Every other car reviewer calls every car they drive "the best car I've ever driven". Rory is a boss, hands down keep it up.
dude, I've seen a lot of video reviews of this car, and you did one of the best car reviews I've seen so far. the trunk issue was never mentioned in any of the other videos, but they all agree on the driver oriented design and funability of the car. great video man. keep em coming. and if you accept recommendations, I would like to see the new generation of the 2016 Miata. cheers
I agree with all the comments. I just marathon'd a bunch of your reviews and I can't help but wonder why you don't have hundreds of thousands of more subscribers. This is quality stuff.
I see you made the cut to be one of the new Top Gear presenters. I have to tell you be careful young brother all eyes are on you all the way here in Washington DC. Represent well, professionally and don't fuck up.. Much Success young brother.. #WeAreAlfisti
I got one, I am so excited. But it is winter so I must wait a little longer. The car to me is a wonderful blend of appearance, performance and minimalism.
Excellent vid. He describes exactly what a sports car is. Two seats, looks and performance. I cringe every time some one tells me they drive a sports car and then proceed to say it's a Camaro or Mustang. If your car is filled with creature comforts, it's not a sports car. If it seats four, it's not a sports car.
The absolute best Alfa Romeo 4c review to date! I've seen your videos, you and Shmee and all, but this one for you, as a professional? is your best. As a black man I also like how you incorporated a little swag. 😀
I've seen a couple of these on the road down in SoCal...they look so much better in person than in videos/picture. Look much smaller too. Sort of a Lotus Elise size..
A very good review that painted a realistic perception of the 4C, presented with humour and charisma. I could not locate the subscription button for this fantastic presenter.
+Rory Reid hey man! congrats for the review. I do not know if to buy the 4c or the F-type. i am going to test drive them soon, but in terms of aesthetics -- which one is more beautiful in your opinion?
"He likes me.... she likes me.... he likes me.... she wants my meat"..😆😆 GENUINELY a great review. I can't believe I just now saw it. (Dec 2022) I own a 2020 4C Spider, and this review is spot-on. No, it's not "perfect".... but it's absolutely perfect for what it was intended to be. This video is 7 years old. The 4C was a huge PR success, and a huge sales failure. No one "understood" it when it was new. Now? Prices have SKYROCKETED in the used/collector market. Name any other car produced since the mid-2000s Exige..... that even comes close?? There is NOTHING. Then.... add the EXTREMELY low production numbers. Think about it - When was the last time you saw one on the road? Have you ever? Then.... add the same "head-turning" factor as a Lamborghini, Ferrari, McLaren, etc..... for a fraction of the cost?? The biggest mistake I see in all these reviews, is that the 4C is filmed ALONE. It looks "nice" in pictures.... but when you see it next to other "normal" cars on the road, you finally realize exactly how special it is. This little beast is W I D E.... and low.... and aggressive.... and has the same exotic "stance" as the exotics mentioned above. You can't possibly "see" that in pictures. It doesn't translate. If you love the pictures of the car..... wait to you see it in real life. This gentlemen was spot-on with his kidney sale. When I first saw pictures.... I thought "Oh.... Alfa made a cool looking Miata-like car with a mid engine.... like an MR-2 or a Fiero or something". Uhhhh..... No. Not even close. Alfa made a baby supercar. period. the end. Then..... you can "begin" to understand why these little "baby supercars" are so sought-after and coveted. Discontinued in 2020..... values are HIGHER than they were when new.
love love love your reviews. actually, i am working on my computer and have playing your videos and just cannot stop laughing ... keep up the excellent work. brilliant!
It's probably intentional to have no storage space inside and such a pain in the arse boot. The engineers went through all that trouble to keep the car's weight down so surely they don't want you dragging a bunch of stuff around in it :)) Anyway, awesome commentary, well done!
Great review, Id love to see one up against a lotus Elise. I've got a lotus and much of what he was saying could be directed at that car. The lotus though is an absolute pig in the dampest of conditions due to its weight. The alfa is the first car I've seen that would give a lotus a run for its money in a beauty contest. But beauty as they say is in the eyes of the beholder.
Spot on review but one point to add.launch control only works in race mode and can go up to 6500rpm if you double tap the left gear paddle just before releasing the brake but I would be brave enough to do that in the wet.
Great review!! I love the 4C and I would buy one if I had the money. I would make it law for every so say Car fan to own an Alfa at some point. I have owned a Spyder and loved it. *Subbed*
love 4c..had my for 4 years.....so fun....super reliable... thats right super liable...im sick of people just talking crap about italian cars.. german cars have more problems ...trust me
@@villaverdeeggs i cannot think of a better reason to sell! I bought a 4c today hopefully i sell mine for a 488 in a few years ! Cheers, all the best 👍
the launch control you did is the "half launch control". You missed the last step (shift down with the left paddle). the revs will go up to 5k. Then you'll have the proper launch control. great review, anyway
A updated version of 4c will soon be available. With a new twin scroll turbo for reduced lag and better trottle response. Should have approx. 20 extra horsepower. Torque is kept at 350 nm because of the transmission. Gearbox(faster and smarter) and suspension is also revised and carbon-ceramic brakes should be available as an option. Don't if these changes will also be made on the Spider.
Could of just used the boot catch in the first place like.. what a car, will own one someday! Half the vid is about practicality, it's at home on the racetrack!!

I enjoy your videos sir...much more like a mate reviewing a car than a journalist....keep it up! Allow showing kidneys though...
Excellent review. Italian car design is still the best - and I say this as a German. I sat in a 4C in Geneva recently and it is surprisingly roomy.
René Wuttke In the driver's seat, maybe. Thanks Rene.
René Wuttke The build quality is not bad either.
