Wowsers cobber, that was a fairly mighty build. A bit past my current level of competence but would definitely want to give it a crack later on. Great video, enjoyed that.
Hey Dylan, welcome to UA-cam from another Australian WoodTuber. I am super proud to say I am your 100th Subscriber! Great first video and hopefully we will get to see a lot more. Australia is collecting a good number of WoodTubers and I reckon more the merrier. Regards One Handed Maker
Congrats on your first video Dylan! The quality is impressive for a first timer, and the narration is on point. Table looks great, you've got a classy design going. Looking forward to what you do next! Cheers!
Thank you! It's definitely a look harder than I thought it would be, and much more time consuming. Hopefully with a bit of practice it will speed up a bit!
Great video! When you're gluing up the miter joints, you use painters tape on the outside, but if you also put some on the inside very close to the line on both pieces, you will have no glue cleanup needed, just peel it off.
Thanks for the tip. I sometimes do this for show faces but as this was the inside I just wiped away the excess with a wet rag. Nobody (I hope) will ever see that part of the table anyway!
That is beautiful piece of furniture and great video. Welcome to UA-cam! I really like your camping calls - brilliant idea to have bottom ones be the base and the caull using large holes!
Stunning table. My wife wants an entry way table very similar to this. I am afraid to show her this one as you are a craftsman and I have a ways ti go to even have enough confidence to try this. Great job on your first video. I look forward to being inspired by more of your videos.
Wow this is stunning !! It is while checking the comments that I noticed it was your first video, so great to be here in the beginnings of what will be a great UA-cam channel ! Looking forward to see your future projects, all the best from France 🎉
For the quality of work and attentation to details, your video deserves 1000 time of views and subscribes. I guess you just need to keep producing them in a reguilar basis.
This was your first video?! When youtube served this up in my feed I came to subscribe and check out your other videos, I'm shocked to find this is your first one, the quality in the camera work and editing is nearly as good as your woodworking. Great job, looking forward to future projects!
Nice build, beautiful table ! Quite promising if your first video is of that quality, I certainly look forward to the others to come. Wish you the best on your youtube journey
Nice video and project. Subscribed right away and can't wait for the next video. I hear you on SketchUp. I try using it for general shape and scale but spend more time figuring out how to draw a line than I should, give up, then draw it on paper.
Thanks! Yep, I find it quite unintuitive and frustrating. I'm sure with practice it would become a bit easier but it's hard to allocate that time to yet another program/skill.
hey there mate.. Would t be ok for me to say that this might have been inspired by the Arts & Crafts period?? It's exactly what I thought of when I saw the finished piece.. Hope u don't mind me saying so. The Arts & Crafts period was a time when some really beautiful furniture was made..
Maybe! My furniture history knowledge is pretty poor and I wouldn't be able to tell you what arts and crafts era furniture looks like but there's a chance I saw something at some point which inspired me and stuck in my subconscious.
Great work New follower here Looks like a great project (Personally) I’d have preferred straighter finishes on the legs (instead of the round overs - but hey that’s me) Thanks for the video

Haha thanks James. Give it a go! What's the worst that will happen, you might have to use some wood filler on a gap or two?

Hi Dylan, everyone else has pretty much given the positive comments that you richly deserve. So, the only thing left to say is "I've subbed".
Thanks Jon!

Very nice work! How did you attach the tabletop?
Thank you! I used L brackets.
Well done mate great video! Sub here!
Thanks!
@@dylanbarfieldfurniture the table looks great btw! has a Foureyes furniture feel
@@coolabahwoodworking Cheers mate, that's a big compliment. Definitely an inspiration on the UA-cam side of things.
4:39 your hand in the path of saw blade, that looks risky
Do you sell plans for the pieces you make?
I've considered it, but I'm not at the stage yet where it makes sense. Maybe one day!
nice job-but their is no one way to "skin a cat" to copy a phrase.
Dude… lower the damn saw blade. You’re just asking to remove fingers 🙄🙄🙄🙄
I feel exactly the same way about Sketchup. It's kind of a pain in the ass to learn for me. I quite enjoy making the scaled drawings by hand anyway.
Yeah absolutely. It's fine for reasonably square stuff but I've got no idea how I'd design this table!
