Picked mine up this week. Very nice bit of kit.
I have the Megger MTR105 motor tester and it has the same screen style, probes and leads as this. It uses 6 x AA rechargeables and eats through them like crazy, I can get about 4 hours motor testing out of them. Hopefully the battery in the MFT X1 is better. They have done same with the bag for both though. It is okay for what you get with the basic instrument but as soon as you buy the extra lead sets and battery charger for the MTR105, its bag is too small.
Had mine 6 weeks now, they are great things! handy how they connect to the certsuite app for sending over results! Saves a lot of time when you are on your own testing.
I want that tester though. I have a 1730 I believe still which due for upgrade so looking forward to seeing what its like. Cheers mate and all the best.

Great video as always! I know I’m going end up buying that tester 😂 velocity could do with tester bag the size of CK/megger one as there just little to big for van vault/van racking otherwise I’ll buy it 😊
Nice looking bit of kit Nick but Im sure you could design a better case with room for spares batteries and a drop down front. With you mentioning linking to an app Im going to suggest it could be used as a verification that the value is an actual reading at the time of testing.
Looked at this at Elex. Great machine, but £1620 is way too expensive.
Does it include a spike type adaptor for the end of the Test Leads you can poke Apprentice's with?

Megger bag looks like a lunch cooler, but I wouldn't upgrade to the Velocity unless the other falls apart.
On a small (phone) screen it just looks like a normal beard, Nick. And it looks great! Bravo for sharing your journey with everyone and giving some encouragement to others who might be considering the same route.

Got one with my 1741 but that came from eBay so the seller might have bought it.
the insulation resistance test is ridiculously slow
ive got a 1730 with a fluke 1652 as backup, unless that thing makes tea and helps me pull cables in, I doubt I'll buy one :P

I probably haven't charged my 1741+ in like 6 months, hoping the battery life is even half as good, because if it is I'd buy it.

Why you can not just run few simple test to show us how does it work in practice.
I hate the new Megger bag ,drives me nuts strap falling off my shoulder, preferred the hard case hand carry.

Would you be willing to sell me your old 1711 Nick?? My Megger was pinched from site a little while back and I've had to dig out my old 1553 just to get me by (the results are a bit inconsistent) for the time being just until I'm in a position to put an order in for one of these or even the 1741+.
That offer goes out to anyone else seeing this and I'd ideally be looking for another Megger but would consider other MFTs.

Sorry Nick, wouldn't touch it with a barge pole. Looks like a Fisher Price kids toy to me. I'll stick with the 1741 and the bomb-proof 1552.

Definitely, was at Elex and the Megger guys saying there is a spare AA battery case. To help you when your battery goes flat. Later in the year they should be releasing battery packs.
