Megger bag looks like a lunch cooler, but I wouldn't upgrade to the Velocity unless the other falls apart. On a small (phone) screen it just looks like a normal beard, Nick. And it looks great! Bravo for sharing your journey with everyone and giving some encouragement to others who might be considering the same route.
Had mine 6 weeks now, they are great things! handy how they connect to the certsuite app for sending over results! Saves a lot of time when you are on your own testing.
I have the Megger MTR105 motor tester and it has the same screen style, probes and leads as this. It uses 6 x AA rechargeables and eats through them like crazy, I can get about 4 hours motor testing out of them. Hopefully the battery in the MFT X1 is better. They have done same with the bag for both though. It is okay for what you get with the basic instrument but as soon as you buy the extra lead sets and battery charger for the MTR105, its bag is too small.
I want that tester though. I have a 1730 I believe still which due for upgrade so looking forward to seeing what its like. Cheers mate and all the best.
Great video as always! I know I’m going end up buying that tester 😂 velocity could do with tester bag the size of CK/megger one as there just little to big for van vault/van racking otherwise I’ll buy it 😊
That’s awesome bit of kit iNick , it be great when you can give us a rundown on the features & how it Different from you old tester, A1 on velocity tester bag & l lov NB-100 ⚡️👊
Nice looking bit of kit Nick but Im sure you could design a better case with room for spares batteries and a drop down front. With you mentioning linking to an app Im going to suggest it could be used as a verification that the value is an actual reading at the time of testing.
hi i am BASAVARAJU PALAGIRI from India. I am a designer and consultant. i am waiting for this one. Actually its not available till now (27apr23). i am requesting you make more videos on X1 usage.
Don’t forget to sharpy your name on it or the plumbers will have that down cash converters faster than you can drop your last screw between the floorboards. 😂. On a serious note, weren’t those smart testers recalled for a fault in the design?
Would you be willing to sell me your old 1711 Nick?? My Megger was pinched from site a little while back and I've had to dig out my old 1553 just to get me by (the results are a bit inconsistent) for the time being just until I'm in a position to put an order in for one of these or even the 1741+. That offer goes out to anyone else seeing this and I'd ideally be looking for another Megger but would consider other MFTs. Cheers, Ryan.
Beard looks great Nick! I’m the other way around, good beard but going bald on the head 😂 And Thankyou for replying to the wife on Instagram and thanks for helping us mate 🙏 Have a good Easter 🐣
Definitely, was at Elex and the Megger guys saying there is a spare AA battery case. To help you when your battery goes flat. Later in the year they should be releasing battery packs.
Overpriced rubbish the X1. Initially great to use and very intuitive but it's plagued by software and hardware faults. It regularly freezes which causes no end of headaches when you're on site. On one occasion it suffered a hardware failure which required a return for repair. I've sent it back and have gone back to my good old 1741.
Looking good Nick and thanks for the kind mention in such esteemed company!
Fluke 1674FC has just landed with me and I'm absolutely blown away by it! Fantastic piece of kit 😊
UK CAL
Picked mine up this week. Very nice bit of kit.
Beard looks good Nick reminds me of my action man back in the day 😂

The bag is called Megger 1014-985 Multi Purpose Hard Base Carry Case and it is indeed made by CK Magma.
I want that tester though. I have a 1730 I believe still which due for upgrade so looking forward to seeing what its like. Cheers mate and all the best.
Ordered mine still waiting for it 😢 the strap you found second is for the bag not the tester though mate I’ll be taking the one off my 1721
The velocity bag looks mint ,
Beard is looking great 😊

That reminds me,I must get rid of my old Fisher price toys.

They put the best strap for the bag and the crap strap f9r the tester 😅
the insulation resistance test is ridiculously slow
I need the spare megger bag.
Does it include a spike type adaptor for the end of the Test Leads you can poke Apprentice's with?
Where did you get the branded magma case from or is does it only come with that tester?
Got one with my 1741 but that came from eBay so the seller might have bought it.
Sod the tools, yes lad, look at that beard...
😂😂🤣🤣
Not gonna lie, i think the megger bag looks better than the velocity😅

Looked at this at Elex. Great machine, but £1620 is way too expensive.
tester looks good only thing i question is rechargeable batter lasting time .nightmare if that goes blank on a job .
Could you not have a spare battery?
@@anthonybragg yes but more money .hoping it does last along time will see if if he mentions it in a video
Am I the only one who thinks the MFT X1 looks like a really old car radio? 🤔
mate the beard is fine .. all good nick . megger stuff interesting
I'll pass on the jacket thanks 😂
ive got a 1730 with a fluke 1652 as backup, unless that thing makes tea and helps me pull cables in, I doubt I'll buy one :P

I probably haven't charged my 1741+ in like 6 months, hoping the battery life is even half as good, because if it is I'd buy it.
Nice beard btw..
Looking good mate
great one mate!
I sent mine back after 30 days, I thought it was shit.
Could i possible have the Megger bag that your no longer going to use . Stops it clogging up your space 😜😜
I hate the new Megger bag ,drives me nuts strap falling off my shoulder, preferred the hard case hand carry.
Put it over your head dude
Nice beard mate 😉
Any chance you want to give the Megger bag away to an apprentice in need? 😂
Sorry Nick, wouldn't touch it with a barge pole. Looks like a Fisher Price kids toy to me. I'll stick with the 1741 and the bomb-proof 1552.
Don’t forget to sharpy your name on it or the plumbers will have that down cash converters faster than you can drop your last screw between the floorboards. 😂. On a serious note, weren’t those smart testers recalled for a fault in the design?
Mental money I only use megger but it’s getting daft now
Why you can not just run few simple test to show us how does it work in practice.
has he actually had a beard transplant please answer
Yes Pete
Do you think the x1 is worth the money now having it for a while?

Never thought I’d see a normal person with one of those beard implants 🥴
Beard
Wow!! Doesnt he go on with niff naff and trivia.
Wow what a pointless comment

Have a good Easter 🐣
You should have got an AA battery case with that, unless Megger changed their mind
No mate , nothing else in there
I was expecting that as well.

The main issue with that tester is the price. It's a complete rip-off.
That eddie ware guy hates UA-camrs who get things for free 😂😂
I know, he told me, what a lovely man he is 🙃
@@NBundyElectrical people should just stay in their lane man. How are you finding the new meggers? I can't see myself using anything but the 1741s 😂
@sunshine3187 yea, looking at this I'd rather stick with my 1741+
@@darylsavage119 I'm getting to old for all this technology mate 😅
At least he wouldn’t try to wire a house in kopex 🤡
