I like how you plowed into the 45 degree of the face first. Straight forward and right to the point. I love your carving style. Another great, great video Kevin!
Great Carving! It's so amazing how well you bring the detail in your carving. I am curious to see how does painting the character look like, it would be great if you could add painting part in the video!
Hi Kevin. Love your videos. Very informative. Question. Do you carve from memory or did you have another picture to look at as you carved this piece? Thanks again.
@@KevinCoates98 very impressive to do that from pine. Ive started with pine and it can be difficult to keep the detail. Smooth seas never made a skilled sailor!

Wood turtle carving
Hello, please make a man with glasses
I don't think I have ever carved glasses
May I ask how look you have been a carver?
20 plus years
From pine - mind blown
It the only wood available to me
@@KevinCoates98 very impressive to do that from pine. Ive started with pine and it can be difficult to keep the detail.
Smooth seas never made a skilled sailor!
Very true. Thank you
You made that look waaaaay too easy.
Thank you
I'm so jealous
Thanks for watching
What kind of wood are you carving? It’s not Pine, is it?
It’s white pine
@@KevinCoates98 I'm impressed with how you whipped that stuff into shape. I believe that it is a very difficult timber to whittle well.
I carved Jack pine before. That doesn’t carve well
And you do it with a few basic tools, while some would need 10 times more tools.
I'm self taught. I started out with just a knife and for the most part I still prefer just a knife
