- As we’ve hinted, you’re going to see some more Redcat Racing vehicles on the channel as per your request. We have a number of Redcat RC’s to test and in this video, we’re trying out of of the trucks from their Team line. This is the TR-SC10E, Redcat’s ready to run 4wd electric brushless short course truck. This truck boasts a lot of high end racing features, just in an RTR package. It looks like a tough truck that can perform. So like usual, we go over all the details you need to know about the truck and then take it out for some fun bashing instead of racing it at a track. Can this truck handle the rough? You’ll find out in the video.

Quality Hong Nor truck. This was and is the best short course you can buy. Set up like an 8th scale buggy. Aluminum chassis. Steel drive shafts. All the old Ofna/jammin upgrades are compatible. Makes the slash look like a cheap toy.
Would you still say that today... He says it's based on something else. Do you know what he was talking about.
All I know is this looked amazing.. the parts look really quite good.. good quality... But I'm newer to the hobby

This truck was origionall a Hong nor/ team magic/ jammin scrt10 great proven truck, its been around and you can get all the upgrade parts cheap if you look on eBay for the jammin equivalent. Good truck, light enough that the knuckles and arms don't snap on cartwheels. But if you put monster truck tires on it, expect to tear it up. Get aluminum knuckles and upgrade to the pillow ball front end.

I bought this truck when it first came out and it sat for awhile because parts where impossible to find!! But now that I can get parts regularly, I drive it a lot. It’s a ripper for sure! Mine is box stock and I’ve only broken and caster and one arm.. it will smoke my castle slash 4x4 and my slash 2wd vxl. On 3s it’s straight nutty!! 🥜 I’ve gone through two bottles of tire glue on aftermarket wheels! Not proline and not the stock wheels.. but this truck seems to not be as popular as its performance shows, sad! This was my 2nd hobbygrade rc since being an adult it’s definitely one of my favorites! Arrma notorious has my #1 spot though. Anyways cool vid as always love your channel! I’ve learned a lot from you! Keep up the good work brother!!
The Team Redcat line is one of the most underrated out there. I have the original TR-MT8E 4s. It's a rebranded Team Magic vehicle but one of, if not THE, toughest vehicles I own. I think that Redcat is going more in the direction of developing their own vehicles from scratch but again, the Team Redcat line is definitely worth it. Keep up the great work!

Just got mine 3 days ago from Amazon for 230$ Greg! Your video definitely persuaded me to grab it! I had got a great deal on a dhk hunter brushless sct off Amazon 2 days before I bought this for 180$!! I went from no sct to 3 in 2 weeks with grabbing the Mojave 2 weeks ago! I love them! Couldn't pass up either deal!
It's down to $205 on Amazon now, VERY tempting.
@@drewc7389 I definitely recommend it!! I like it so far. Its crazy fast. Haven't crashed it much so not sure about durability yet. But its 380$ everywhere else so definitely a score.

I'm really enjoying my TR-SC10E, the stock shocks aren't bad, I did upgrade to Pro-Line PowerStrokes though. On 3S this thing is just amazing.

My favorite 4wd truck hands down because of the fun I have ripping around the track or street.
Seems like it would be a cool speed run truck.
I can see people using this platform. With a body and tire change...but the truck is perfect the way it is out of the box.

Yes, would like to see you go racing and suspension upgrade with test vs stock. Love mine but on the track, landing jumps seems that the suspension is a bit under sprung. Bounces and looses traction after landing ..gets squirrely.. Recommended area on the body to put holes to prevent the parachuting effect. Thanks very much ....Great videos 5 stars
I really like this one better than the one they are selling now, better stronger electronics, better layout. The one they selling today, has a cheaper quality about it
Yes I think you should take it out to the track and club race it otherwise how will anyone ever really know how out of the box it would fair in a stock truck class. Maybe race it against those traxass 4x4 stockers everyone seems to think so much of. Its much lighter should have some obvious advantages good luck have fun

I'm looking for a replacement for my associated pro sc 4x4 when i can't get replacement parts anymore and I'm becoming a fan of redcat.
We have a club kind of track and this would probably do the job.
I would like to see it on a dirt track though.

They did back in like 2006. This is an ofna/jammin crt.5, which they used as the platform for the Jammin scrt10. Same truck, lengthened chassis. It has been around forever, and now Redcat is selling it. Which is good for people like me who need good part support. I have basically the same truck (crt.5), no aluminum shock towers or anything, and dont worry, it is plenty durable.
This is a low cost jammin scrt10 rebranded. Some updates like battery box and servo mount.

I run an exceed sct 10 "terrain 10" i use a lot of redcat parts definitely made my truck handle better especially the shocks
do both racing and bashing ,let,s see how tough this red cat is.
I picked up this truck over Christmas and so far my son and I really like it however there seems to be a very weak point in the front turnbuckle. We seem to break it every time we are out. We are upgrading to the Lunsford Racing titanium turnbuckles hopefully get rid of this issue. We race it off-road on outdoor loose clay and outdoor oval loose clay and it handles both very well apart from the turnbuckle.
How is the trucks durability overall? I'm thinking of purchasing this
@@DeathHelper420 Overall its a really good truck. The only issue I have is the front camber turnbuckles however they are pretty cheep to replace. If you do get this truck I would highly recommend picking up a pair of Lunsford Racing 3.5mm x 24mm titanium turnbuckles. From my research that seem to be the fix for the weakness I found.

I've been racing a volcano brushless for a while but I never liked how stiff the shocks are. Was looking for a new track car. I loved bashing until I destroyed my front diff lmao now I'm more careful lol
DeathWalker420 If you jump on it now... Amazon seem to be clearing house of these trucks. I’ve seen them on Amazon for under $200 which is a serious steal for this truck. I almost bought another one just to have.

I think it looks better with the body off in whats in there underneath. Horizon says it's 530mm long which is ever so slightly shorter than others in this class and i think explains why it looks short or squatty to me. But not liking the body is minor on my part. Here's to still hoping you get a chance to review the Redcat Camo TT. Thanks.
How come these type tires dont come w Blackout? Theyre a must to race on dirt as you know

All things being equal, would you race a Redcat short course or Arma? I am trying to decide which to buy.....I know there are better trucks out there, but I like this price point.
The TR-SC10E would be better for racing. It has a lot of adjustment options so you can tune it just right for the track.
This is a rebranded jammin scrt10 and is a better race truck. Had mine 10 years now

Depends on the Slash the high CG 4x4 this truck would out handle for sure but the low CG 4x4 might be good competition for this truck.
The High CG 4x4 Slash is still my pick for a basher though. The handling and extra ground clearance are MUST haves for me.

Team Redcat is top notch theure tough trucks. Theyre Team Magic relabeled. But I'm sure team magic is also relabeled from the oem supplier.

Dont think so bro. I just got my hands on a used kit, and its actually awesome and FAST even on 2S. Already stated as discontinued on their site, so kinda concerned for where im gg to get spares. But its alright, got it at half e price. So now thinking of my local short shorttrack, i dun think i will even need 3S 🤟🏽

I've owned this truck for better part of a year I like the truck keeps breaking suspension and steering parts. Also found out it is basicly ofna sc10 truck I wish someone would come out with aluminum a arms for it
Theres a pivot ball suspension conversion for it. Message Karl at No problems computer and hobby on Facebook
They are a hard arms. Try boiling your next set in water to soften them up a bit. OFNA doesn't make the truck, but did sell a version of it.

Why would a truck like that start sputtering and hesitating? I tried a 3s lipo and it started doing that hard.

Short course trucks typically should be racing on dirt or road , idk if clay is good with the stock tires .
This model unfortunately currently comes with a plastic chassis and plastic caps on shocks. Body cover is real flimsy too. Returned it.
They haven’t sold this for years so I’m not sure what you are reviewing here. 100% metal chassis.

This is a good starting short course truck to upgrade but the armma is more reliable and easier to repair but those parts for replacements are a bit expensive unless you dont mind upgrading it with a few more parts

Yes. The width is under the 300mm max for the short course racing class.

Totally not the best place to show this truck true performance.
Redcat Racing is a second rate R/C company. ALL of their vehicles are weird looking and build quality is subpar. The Gen 8 scout is their best vehicle and a first step in the right direction. In my opinion Redcat Racing should scrap their entire R/C line starting from Gen 7 on back and start all over. The Gen 8 is decent and probably is the vehicle that is keeping the company relevant right now. As long as Redcat Racing has been in business they should have been leveled up so that they can compete with the big boys like Traxxas . I beleive Redcat Racing can do better but the question is, will they before their time runs out.
