My wife has begun to slowly lose her hearing at age 68. We have an appointment at Costco in a few weeks. In the meantime I have been researching hearing aids here on TouTube. I stumbled on your channel and I must say, your content is fair, thorough and highly informative. I feel much better armed with info going toward her appointment. Keep up the good work!!!

I wore OTC hearing aides for the first time yesterday. I had to attend an all day retreat for a Board I’m on and decided i couldn’t get by with my usual smiling, nodding and pretending i was hearing. I bought some on Amazon early last week, tried them out briefly, then put them in yesterday morning and hoped for the best. That’s exactly what I got. I was able to hear almost everything people had to say but for one soft spoken women in the back of the room.

Glad to hear you found something that worked! What brand did you end up with?

One thing I like in a hearing aid is the Hearing Test and the ability to save that into the fitting parameters.

I just turned 62 and have asymmetrical hearing: an almost perfect right ear but a very weak left. Interested in any products or services that would be especially good for my situation. Thanks!

Great information, always enjoy your videos. I've tried a couple from China and they are Ok. I only use watching TV, so no big deal, Yet! Thanks again

Sennheiser has an in-clinic care package for $250 ish, varies a little depending on provider. Includes programming support and extends the warranty by an additional year.

I've hit the pause button in my quest for OTC hearing aids due to the impending effect AI is going to have.. Time for me to watch and see what improvements that will bring before I spend my money, not after...

Right now there aren’t any good OTC devices that deal with asymmetric loss. Your best bet is probably to book an appointment at a local clinic where they can fit you.
