Looking for a solution to hear and understand when the performance is too loud. I can't understand the words at a musical play because the dialogue and the music are too loud. Could I wear big ear muff-type hearing protectors over my ears and hearing aids and pipe in the sound at a reasonable volume using a Roger on or some other remote mic accessory? I tried just hanging the hearing aids outside the hearing protectors and all I go was high frequencies - no mid range and no bass. Would it be the same with a Roger On or could it be adjusted to deliver full spectrum sound with high frequency emphasis commensurate with my hearing loss?

I recently bought a Roger ON. I also have a Select, a table mic and a Roger pen. With ON I now , for the first time in 20 years can attend a crowded wedding reception or funeral reception and be able to hear the person I am speaking to over all the crowd noise. The On is powerful enough to pick up the speaker's voice from 18" or even 2 ft. away from the speakers mouth and get it to my ears over the crowd noise. I was so pleased when I discovered this.

I purchased one last week. Have profound unilateral one ear and high freq sensorineural other. PHONAK paradise CROS. Roger On version 2 brilliant. The stand function of the case is so good and reduces worry of someone standing or spilling something on the mic. a concern I had with a previous Roger Pen. So user friendly, love it.

After being issued a Roger On through the Veterans Administration (VA) I purchased a Partner Mic thinking that these two could work in concert. They do not. I had hesitated to ask the VA for another Roger On, but when I did they complied and the two Roger Ons work well together. An on going problem I do have is that if Roger On, while working with another, is not held close to vertical it mutes. So if one of the two speakers wearing a Roger On leans back in their chair too far their voice is not picked up. I have learned that most of us don't sit up straight much of the time.

    • @2Lloyd100
      @2Lloyd100 11 місяців тому

The Roger on works with my Audéo 90. The two previous hearing aids the VA issued to me were Oticon & ReSound. The ReSound microphone had better range and battery life. I do recall that my local VA offered to other brands but don’t recall which. The Roger On was most versatile & the hearing aids will work with more than one.

Very informative! I have new Phonak Audeo Paridise 90's. Need hearing help both in a conference room with 12 participants, and in a restaurant table of 4. I heard you say the Roger Select would be better for the restaurant, but Roger Table mic ii would be better for the conference room, correct? But which to cover both cases? Thanks

Hi Mike, thanks for taking the time to comment. It may be best to look at the Roger networking where you can link devices, as 12 around a table means there's likely to be a considerable distance between the speakers and the microphones. Thanks for watching and stay tuned for more, Matthew

I have Marvel hearing aids but just ordered Paradise 312T + Roger On iN + a hearing aid dryer. Prefer user changeable batteries, am a heavy user with HAs in 6:30am to midnight and about 4hrs bluetooth daily (phone, tv, streaming podcasts). Any ballpark on what these different devices might cost in the U.S.? Tried googling but very little references to prices anywhere online. Seems we mainly need to purchase from audiologists/providers, and like the aids themselves, they can set their own prices/markups, so really hard to get any confidence of how much each accessory 'should' cost. Appreciate any intel or ballpark prices from anyone willing to share. Thanks!

I love my Roger On for social engagements went I'm in very dynamic situations where the person I want to listen to changes a lot. I also find a lot of success using at museums or other places where there is competing audio tracks or background echo, I can point my Roger On at the audio broadcast device (electronic speaker) and I zoom right in to what ever I'm pointing to with my Roger On b/c it cuts out most of the background noise. From the reactions of my hearing endowed friends and family, I suspect I am hearing better in noisy situations now than they are!
My only complaint/concern is that the Roger On is very vulnerable to humidity. I accidentally killed mine just by using it outside during tours in hot/steamy Cambodia and then walking indoors (air conditioned) and back out again. Fortunately, it was under warranty. I bought a dehumidifier box for my hearing aids and Roger On after that but it requires power and doesn't stay with me during the day. I've resorted to carrying my Roger On and Partner Mic in a freezer ziplock back with a drying block from my dehumidifier box in my purse until I actually need to use them rather than just having them on a lanyard around my neck or clipped to my shirt. Anyone have any other ideas on how to protect these expense and non-optional-if-I-want-to-participate- devices while on the move outdoors and in?

I have the Roger Select and the older Roger pads. The plus to the pads is, with two, you can have two people wearing them and hear both, but if you lie one down to be a table mic, it mutes the second one that someone is wearing. Would two Roger ONs let you set up a wearable and a table that work at the same time? Hey Bruce, you could potentially overcome this with one of the accessories i.e the select. Thanks for watching, Matthew

Thanks for the video, Could you please clarify this for me:
When connected to the TV via the TV connector, does the hearing aid process sound based on my hearing audiogram or does it function like a typical Bluetooth headset without any processing? Thanks

Hey N thanks for reaching out. The sound is Bluetoothed and then also takes into account your hearing loss. So should be second to none. I hope this helps? Matthew

@@HearingTracker at 9:12 the video shows a SPDIF (digital audio output) but narrator said "audio output" which normally is a 3.5mm diameter TRS. Did you mean 3.5mm TRS, or did you mean the rectangular spdif?

I have just purchased the TV Connector which is working well. However it blocks out the sound of anyone talking to me - ie - my wife asking me a question. Can I turn off the sound on the TV in order to have a conversation. and then turn it back on again.

Hey Brian, you can adjust the ratio between streaming and environmental mics on the Myphonak app. Thanks for watching, Matthew

The problem with leaving the tv connector on is that when I am upstairs and someone is watching the tv downstairs, the tv sound starts coming through my hearing aids.

Why can’t I pair my phonak hearings aids to my iPad 😢

I’ve been wearing hearing aids for 40 years in all situations and I am now in need of some microphone-type assistance. I just can’t envisage using a lapel -mike and going around putting it on people, sorry but that is a bridge too far for me from a social point of view.

Hey David, I get it completely. Thats why the Roger On and Select on the table can be a lightly more discrete way of coping. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. Matthew

How well does an iPhone work as a table microphone using hearing aids made for iPhones like Onicon

Hey Don, not very well as its not directional in the same way that accessories have beam-forming. You're better off with an accessory. Great question and thanks for watching, Matthew

I have been disappointed with roger select as I have never been able to connect it to my TV and phonak has been no help. They have their money I paid for it and I have a smaller savings account. I've tried talking with phonak customer service so it seems to me they could tell me the easy way they advertise to hook up to my tv.

Phonak has made, singular. Woke plural is a thing of the past.
