    I got the same kit myself! one thing I did differently was NOT shaking the paint and mixer together like that, it creates little air bubbles that can transfer over.
    Slowly stirring it for 5 mins while chugging a cold one is the way to go! (you’ll need it 😅)

    You forgot to mention that painting your calipers red adds +5hp per caliper and applying the G2 sticker a window creates an additional 7.5 hp.

    Great video. My I gave some advice from an old car guy. Make you a safety block from like 4 2x6's. nail them together and stick them under car near the jack stands. Those are fine jack stands but if one fails or falls over that wood block keeps the Camaro off of your legs. (I learned this the hard way under a 70 SS chevelle). The brake calipers look great.

    Good video. I did my '16 ATS calipers (same ones as on your Camaro) just last week using the G2 kit. Though pricey at about $58, the results look very good ... easy prep with the brake cleaner provided, minimal masking off the area required because little risk of getting paint on unwanted surfaces like with spray cans others use, easy application (though the little brush was toast by the end), a beautiful glossy color without spraying a clear lacquer coat, and no drips or runs anywhere. No surprises ... I hate surprises. My decals will be in my mail maybe later today. Thanks, again!

    Great job on this. Been going back and forth trying to decide if I want to do this myself. Contacted a shop and it was going to be $1,100 to paint them. That's a little strong. Gonna go with the G2 kit and take a shot at it. Thanks for all the videos. You do a very good job with them and there all informative. I have a 14 5th gen and I've done a lot of mods that you talk about in your videos. CAI, headers, tune, BMR lowering springs, MRR replica Z/28 wheels and a few other cosmetic touches. Again very well done man. You have yourself an excellent Camaro and it's nice to see the pride you take in it. 👍

I also went with the G2 kit, that's how I found your video. I think I'll take your advice though and start on it tomorrow morning instead of when it gets here today.. Thanks for the video man, great job.

    Obviously tape your areas before you mix the paint. Look how late it is in the end. Regardless I don’t think you can screw this kit up. Lays pretty flat from what I’ve seen. As long as you spend the time to clean and prep. Painting is easy maybe cut the wheel to gain access. Great tip on the brush. Theirs is crap. 👍🏼

    I'll be replacing my calipers pads & rotors so I am going to spray paint them the same color as my car before I put them on. Figured might as well paint them now while they're off the car... The red looks good, and to be honest they looked pretty awesome before you painted them. You could have probably picked up some kind of decal that matched the original Camaro logo that was on them. That would have been nice also.

      Lethal
      You can use a vice grip, or a strong clamp to squeeze the metal tighter where it clamps the bristles of the brush, and less will fall off during paint process.
      It's not a 100% guarantee, but with a stronger connection now, and a lighter use with the brush I did have success, and no bristle hairs came off during painting.

    For those of you who are skeptical as to whether or not the kit comes with enough paint or not...Trust me when I say, there is MORE than enough paint to apply almost five to six coats on the largest of calipers. I got the yellow kit and when I first mixed in the reactor and started painting, I was like “This shit is really thin and is bleeding through...I wonder if I did something wrong? Is there enough...?” Between each coat it got thicker and thicker. I put like four coats on with almost half a can left over. My calipers are bright ass glossy yellow now. :P

    I painted my g37 xs calipers this past weekend, went very smooth, however after day 1 I was 50% done. I put the paint can lid back on tightly, left it on the garage floor over night and that next morning the paint had become jelly. The temp only dropped down to high 40s to 50s. I would think a 50$ kit would not do this. Anyway I compromised and put duplicolor caliper paint on the left side, but brushed on 4 coats, 3 with the G2 on the right side. Lesson learned, don't leave your can in the garage over night!

    • @Lethalgarage
      @Lethalgarage  7 років тому +1

      Derek, the mixture is a hardening agent. if you don;t complete the work in 4 hours it will harden. It outlines that on the box and I outline it in the video. You have to do it all in one go, or you will run into what you did.

    I'm at a bit of a loss here. I love the red calipers and have been thinking about doing the same to mine. However, I'm sick of cleaning brake dust and heard that the MGP caliper covers were good for eliminating this (Powerstop also). From what I've researched it sounds like they can help draw heat out of the brakes?
    "Caliper covers also have additional benefits beyond appearance and ease of installation: They reduce the amount of brake dust that gets on your wheels, so your car will stay looking cleaner between washings. And contrary to some opinions, the increased surface area they add near the brakes actually serves to reduce overall temperatures. MGP ran tests with an infrared thermometer gun and found that their aluminum caliper covers acted as a heat sink, drawing heat out of the brakes and reducing caliper temperatures by 30° to 50°F."
    What's your two cents on caliper covers? Thanks Matt!

    • @Lethalgarage
      @Lethalgarage  6 років тому +1

      They do not reduce heat and they do not stop dusting. I am honestly shocked so many people buy these. If you have real brembo's paint them or powder coat them the color you want and they will look great.

    Isn't better to apply primer before? Also, is it more of a dark red than fire red let's say? Looking to do mines too..

    Great video and very informative. i just had a couple questions: how long do you have to work with the paint (thats in the can) before it starts to harden up? ive read on line that you have about an hour before the paint in the can begins to harden up, is this true? also with the brush method, do you get any orange peel look to the paint on the calipers?

    • @Lethalgarage
      @Lethalgarage  4 роки тому

      I completed this all in a hour. So beyond that not sure. Depends on the application for orange peel. But if you want perfect get them powder coated.

    How much paint did you have left over? If time permitted would you have been able to do a 4th or 5th coat on all fours?
    As a tip to anyone reading if you prefer to spray you can use the Preval 9 oz. Complete Spray Gun, and is even recommended by G2 on their website. Cost about $5 at HomeDepot.

    • @Lethalgarage
      @Lethalgarage  7 років тому +1

      I have 40% left over. You can do more coats, but that the risk of losing definition on how the brakes calipers look.
