2000 TONS STANDING START ON A 1 IN 90 GRADE HILL .. The Morning Shift .. Pt 4

This time I popped down on the 27 June which is a Tuesday at 06:30 in the morning, yes that's right in the MORNING. This was to catch the trains that I would usually miss only going down in the afternoon. Literally as I walk onto the "famous" bridge I hear a GBRF 66 powering its way up the 1 in 90 hill towards me, stops in front of me for a few minutes and then from a standing start continues its journey. It was so nice to catch the pair of class 20's starting up after sitting where they were for a while and then to end this morning shift a DB red 66 and red wagons in toe rolled round the corner from the tunnel and stopped under the bridge to pick up a radio so they could be guided back into the sidings at the Cemex Quarry and do a driver change. Enjoy.
