I love how you always say "in case anyone needs it" as well as mainly providing these for yourself. Super kind!❤️
I don’t often see people use outdoor/softer wheels at the skate park! I feel safer in my outdoor wheels, so I’m glad I got to see someone else using softer wheels even for the park!! 🤗
Thank you! Yeah I mostly skate skatelite and metal ramps, I like that they're grippy and don't slip sideways on surfaces like those.
It's almost a two hour drive to any concrete skatepark or bowl from where we live, so I usually just keep my Radar Energy wheels on. (I'll switch to harder wheels if I want more speed there, but sometimes I'm too lazy lol).
I'm tall and heavier on wheels with my height, so that weight adds to my momentum as well: I get pretty decent speed on softer wheels.
Also there's NOT a ton of ramps with tall transitions near me, which as a tall skater, that's a bummer because I prefer taller ramps because of my height. It doesn't take much for me to get high on a transition because of my long legs, I'm usually already taller than the ramp I'm skating. I don't really need super hard wheels to get me up on the coping or deck, one small pump can get me to the top in 78 wheels- if anything the softer/less hard wheels help scale it back so I can skate the smaller stuff more normally. In hard wheels I FLY
The energy radar wheels have been my favorites for awhile now. I've loved their versatility. I'm in love with the larger size, the black ones I own are 35 mm x 65 mm, 65s, 78a. They're soft enough to roll over debris on the street outdoors, but gummy and hard enough to ride ramps and surfaces like the ones I mostly skate. They also last forever?? My first pair (62 in teal) I bought over 3 years ago and they're still going after skating an upwards of 500 days in them.
i love your editing style so much!! you are so underrated omg
Thank you for appreciating my editing style!! I literally *love* the process of creating videos and the aesthetic portions of production, so this means a lot when you noticed and appreciate it
@@simon_slays55 its so cute especially the little drawings like the bag
I really loved to see how many equipments and “just in case” for your roller skates you have, friend. I both today only a few of things, specially, a helmet but through your videos, I see I need more. Success~~🍒
Your personality is just so wholesome, I can’t help but superscribe!
this is probably one of my favorite videos!
I have a züca bag, but I'm scared to take it anywhere, I feel like it's too fancy and someone might steal it so I just use a reusable shopping bag.
Yeah I can understand that, at least you found something that's functional and doesn't make you worry about ever losing!
Great video ! Do you have any tips in how to set up first pair of skates ? Just had a pair bought for me!
omg this video was super helpful! thank you !!!
Aw yayyy!!! I'm so happy :) you are super welcome, glad you liked it!
I'm loving your channel!! Love from Panama City 🇵🇦🇵🇦🇵🇦
Thank you! Much love to you
i wanna start skating! i'm gonna buy one when i get all A's in my report card! my mom told me😆 but yeh idk what to buy... gear... protection and stuff! thankyou!❣️👏
Thanks for sharing
Loved this! Super helpful.
Aw, thank you! I'm glad :)
Iv got a suitcase backpack. That way I can hold the bag, put it in my back or roll it behind me. Cause its so heavy
See, you're a smart person. Haha
I had this too! I destroyed that thing, dragging the little wheels on the trail on the way to the skate park. My only problem was that I would forget to air out my skates immediately.
Love when I find forgotten photos
Isn't it the best?!? I'm SO sentimental so it takes me back to the memory and I feel all the feels again and it makes me so happy. :)
The firmest I got are 95a. I just got some cheap cold pour orange honkers from skatewheels are less
Nice, I have the 103a Vertext wheels for bowls from CIB and they make you LEVITATE. I don't switch out to my hardest wheels because of how far we have to travel to even get to a bowl from where we live. Cheap wheels are always a win to have, I feel like if you can find a pair that feel good to roll on for the surface you skate the most, you're set.
Cool video! Any chance you’ve got a tutorial on how to install the Avanti plates? I need to install a set on my SG Fame skates but I’m kinda lost! 😅 Thx! 🙏
That sounds like a cool set-up idea! Are you wanting a tutorial on how to mount shoes to the plates to make skates?
Simon Slays 55 I was thinking more changing out the nylon plates on my skate boots to the Avantis; is it super-different from mounting the on regular shoes?
@@bxrosie04 I have never mounted nylon plates myself so I don't know the comparison, but when I post a tutorial on how I built my Vans set-up, you'll be able to see how I mounted the Avanti plates!
Your skates would look really good with the sure grip wooden wheels
In this video: bri finding stuff she lost in her bag and throwing everything behind her lmao
Firm for concrete? Where do you get 76a?
Yeah for concrete I would switch to my harder wheels, 96a-103a, but you fly so high and go so fast, it's a little bit of an adjustment when I switch them out after skating skatelite and wood on grippy slower wheels. I got my energy wheels off amazon! I really like them.
These are the 78a Hybrid Wheels 🖤 Radar Energy 78A 35mm x 65mm Wheels in Black (4 Pack) amzn.to/3857mtY (*affiliate link but doesn't change the pricing, just helps me out with a small like 1% commission lol)
In my skate bag is just have my skates lmao (I need to be more organised lol )
Hey you got the essentials ;) I wanna do an updated video of this!
I've been loving your channel! I've been recovering from an injury for about two months now and I can't wait to get back on eight wheels. Your channel has been a great comfort. Do you like the Avanti plates? I want to upgrade from the stock plate on my Lollys but I have no clue what to look for or consider. Also, if anyone has tips for overcoming fear post-injury that would be wonderful!
Aw thank you so much Catherine! I'm happy to hear that.
I TOTALLY understand that, that's tough. I had shoulder surgery February 2019 for a torn labrum and couldn't skate for 6 weeks, and no park skating for 6 months. I recorded recovery videos, like my daily routines and what I did while I wasn't able to skate to speed up my recovery...I also wrote THREE articles for Dogdays Magazine on my experience on coming back to skating after an injury and surviving a long-term injury as a skater. I'm so happy you asked because that's exactly why I wanted to write those articles to help out any fellow skaters who have to go through the same thing- trying to pass on my empowering takeaways! Here's the article links:
1. "How I went through shoulder surgery and back to roller skating" in Dogdays Magazine bit.ly/3cyg9HU
2. "How To Get Your Skate ‘Mojo’ Back After An Injury" in Dogdays Magzine bit.ly/3mQgJW9
3. "Mindset Mantras" (an article with helpful mindsets you can choose to survive and stay positive with the mental experience of being out of rollerskating due to an injury, these helps me a lot!) in Dogdays Magazine bit.ly/3i3yMom
Hope you give those a read and that they encourage you
@@simon_slays55 Oh my goodness, thank you so much! I can't wait to dig into those articles. I was cleared on Monday to start walking again and had my first PT appointment on Tuesday. It'll definitely be a journey and I'll need to have a second surgery to remove some hardware (but not all), and I so appreciate your help and guidance. Yeah I thought that price point for a non-nylon plate was too good to be true so I figured I should ask, haha. I am glad to hear they are a good investment! I really appreciate that you've talked about injury and recovery; I feel like not too many folks talk about it even though it's a fairly common thing. Skating is, after all, and aggressive sport! I'm @ catherineroseknows on Instagram. Thank you again!
How do you like your CIB trucks?
I honestly love them! They have held up great and are easy to do grinds with. I can do a review on them sometime if you like! There definately are pros and cons / a difference switching from regular trucks to wide trucks
@@simon_slays55 please do a video! i would greatly appreciate it
@@isabel346 It's on the content schedule to make :) I hope you're subscribe and got the notifications turned on haha.
Watching this from Argentina be like: I can barely keep my pants at the skatepark without being stolen xD
Hi, Simon...
Hola! ;)
I feel like your skates match you hair
Whoaa they kinda do! I'm a redhead but my ends get so highlighted by the sun they're pretty gold during the summer.
this video was so cute. thank you for posting! I have a question, are you possibly a virgo? LOL
Same thing I thought, but I believe she is a Taurus.
Am I the only one who taught the shoes was a cardboard
