The Entire History Of Film or Close Enough

- The entire history of film or at least stuff I like and did not forget. Here I will share random facts from the silent era to streaming services. I will also rank the best films for every decade. Sorry to disappoint you but you might actually learn something. To make this I had to watch hundreds of movies. I actually can’t stand films now. This took to much work so now I only want to make short videos.

Glad to know I'm not the only one driven mad by those videos.
I heard Martin Scorsese stole the script from Hitchcock but got caught when a clockwork Robocop named Mr. Orange sold him out after the heist so he hid the script up his ass for five long years and then escaped prison by crawling through five football fields of shit and emerging clean on the other side

When I learned that Donald Duck wasn't the face of Disney outside of Northern Europe it was a damn culture shock. It's seriously ride or die with Donald Duck here.
People who say that Mickey Mouse is better than Donald Duck here in the Netherlands will get deported to Belgium
@@daanwillemsen223 no. Not Belgium!
I remember reading about it once, that when German translator Erika Fuchs first started localizing Donald Duck comics, she did so with a lot of subtle literary allusions and added wit and characterization, and her version of it is what ultimately influenced the rest of his portrayal in Europe. So he got more popular there because he effectively was written as a different character from early on, one a bit more nuanced and in tune with local cultural touches. So the European Donald Duck is quite different from the American one, who - as an American - I imagine most Americans would describe as just "an angry duck." His associated characters like Scrooge McDuck and his nephews are the interesting ones here, and Donald more of just a straight man conduit for those characters
I grant though I'm not much into Disney stuff so maybe hardcore American Disney folks have strong different opinions on Donald but as a casually aware American that's my take on him

It's interesting how Kilian-the-content-creator has to put so much research into these videos when one of the central jokes of Kilian-the-character is that he's absurdly unreliable.
Exactly!
Kilian the character? What character? Are you implying he’s not a red panda? I think you might be confusing him with his android.

So I was curious as to what happened in early 2020 that caused people to stop going to theaters, so I looked up a timeline, and best I can tell the answer is Sonic the Hedgehog.
I'm going to pretend you're a time traveler from the year of 2120. And yes, it was most certainly Sonic's fault.

Sonic??? Did you guys ever watch Cats???
yes, you're correct, it was the Sonic The Hedgehog movie. It was so incredibly good, that the entire world decided to stop going to the cinemas, because no other movie could ever reach this level of quality anyway
@@captainzuper2506 the sonic movie is suprisingly really good and that's incredibly disturbing to me
You missed what I would consider the most Human™ thing in the history of cinema. After the invention of the cinematograph in 1895, a movie came out in 1896, litterally one year later, called "Le coucher de la mariée" (Bedtime for the bride).
And it's porn.
It took mankind exactly ONE YEAR to use cinema to make porn.
If that's not typically human, I don't know what is.
I'm amazed by that fun fact!
I am so proud to be a part of the human race. We exercised the greatest restraint to be ever exhibited by our species to make it to that 1 year mark.
To be fair, none of the actors are nude. But also only 2 out of the (estimated) 7 minutes of the film survived, because it was lost then found a century after it was made.

Kilian sings sabaton, talks about godzilla and spagetti westerns. This is the biggest masterpiece to have ever been made.
The bit about Plato's cave allegory and "would they not say, why are you bringing politics into our shadow theater?" is legitimately pretty fucking brilliant. That's a good bit.
Charlie Chaplain groomed minors? He really was a true Hollywood classic.
You forgot the Ugandan classic "Who killed captain Alex?" Please remake the video with this glaring oversight remedied.
Kilian is definitely the best mamma-jamma ever stood behind a vague editing software.

I'm more impressed than anything, honestly. I saw the video length and I was like: "There's no way Killian can talk about one thing for an entire hour and keep it consistently funny." An hour later and I was still laughing by the 2010s segment. 10/10; who knew all we needed to surpass Orson Wells was a red panda in a hat. Would wait several months for a video again.
The entire industry has been a collective hallucination by the population of the earth, as the cinema is claimed to be invented by "French" people, even though everyone knows that France is a fictional country.
That's what the beings of light from the Medimarinean land want you to believe while they are busy unravelling the laws of everything and beyond to take control of existence itself.
@@dodorus966 ok if french isn't real why come is there french fires LOL!

Kilian nothing would've bullied the French more than talking about how great England is, and giving all credit for cinema to England
England doing anything good clearly goes against established lore.
Nah, a LOT of English culture comes from the French. The two languages/people are pretty similar, so they'd probably still take it as compliment.

Yes, a very accurate description!
Honestly I'm just disappointed in Kilian these days. It just seems like less and less effort goes into his videos. How do you have the nerve to make "the complete history of film" and yet completely gloss over about 99% of film history? Some of the most important films of all time were completely absent. I guess I can only hope that he cleans up his act in 2022 and re-releases this video to address the unforgivable omission of Shrek 2.

How was it even possible to go over all of cinema in under an hour and do it so well? What the hell?

Well it's more factual than history class, so it's worthwhile.
