Is Mark Cavendish the greatest British rider of all time? 👑
Definitely. How he hasn’t received a knighthood yet is beyond belief
One of the greatest sprinter for sure, especially with his renaissance in those past recent years.
It was sometimes painful to see him ride until he went back winning with the Quickstep.
He has evolved a lot as a person & a rider, and clearly deserve more than ever respect today for all he has gone through and done.

He's a champion, but not a sportsman. He can't handle a loss without acting like a kid that just threw his rattle out of the cot.
Probably, but there are others : Chris Froome, Sir Chris Hoy, Bradley Wiggins, and Tom Pidcock. He's the greatest sprinter that is for sure and an endearing character who never gives anything but his best. For me Pidcock is the next greatest for the Gold in Olympics MTB and his achievements in cross and road. But I am heavily biased toward the rough stuff :) and the Classics.
Every lap I thought: “surely Cav won’t be able to hang with them this time round”. And every single time, he managed to pull it back. Even with all the antics and riders not wanting to drag him to the line, he managed it perfectly for someone that rarely gets that opportunity. This was the most masterful ride I’ve seen from a pure sprinter. Somehow at age 37 he got me out of my seat screaming in a way I never thought I would. An absolute shame if he’s left out of the tour.
Absolutely masterful! And the fact that he managed to put himself up the road while his biggest rivals from INEOS, FDJ, and the other WT teams were chasing his breakaway... that's a role reversal you don't see very often!
Crazy seeing this finish - Cavendish isn't even in sprint mode, looks back, and slows down to not make the others look too bad.
It's crazy, isn't it?! And these are two really good pro riders - Watson is an up and coming FDJ rider and Richardson was Alpecin-Fenix last year... Cavendish is just another level.
well done Mark!!! What a great effort! Definitely should be in the Tour de France!!!
Fun fact: The guy in the dark blue is Alex Richardson. That one youtube video where a stock broker turned into a pro cyclist in a single year? Yeah that's him...Mad.
Alex is a great guy! He's been a supporter of our local races for years, and a few of us spent some time racing with him -to see where he is now is awesome!
Definite hero of mine. Way to go Mark. You are incredible.
Simply the best sprinter by a long shot.
The GOAT! 👑
this man really is not human
Some ride by Cav, no-one was beating him that day! 🚴🏼🇮🇲
And the greatest British rider AND the CURRENT British champ isn't selected to go to TDF? I'm not even going to bother watching TDF this year! Pure cow-pie!
I know, right?! It's ridiculous!
Cav to the tour! Patrick, make the right choice!!
A travesty that he wasn't chosen!!
You have to feel for the other 2 though. Swinging on to the finish straight with Cav wheel 3 was only ever going one way
Please would someone set up a Go Fund Me to send Cavendish to the Tour.
Pre-Tour team transfers are a thing, right? 😆
@@monument_hq I have no idea but in any event I'd pay a tenner to see Cav in the TDF, in any team, but ideally Quick Step.
Go champs go for it, fans love youuuuu guys, you can always discover Denmark for the next cycling competitions to come dating your new rivals in business, yeah, cycling is beautiful this way fans, you are not alone Ok?
Sadly, he is not in TDF22...
Such a shame!
Gr8 2 👀👀👀 Mark Cavendish win the UK Road Race after his battle a few yrs back . He was fabulous at laat yrs TdeF . Can't understand why his Team didn't pick him 4 this yrs TdeF 2022 edition. Could it be his bad behavior in the last day or 2 of last yrs race ... any Bodies guess .
It's such a shame that he won't be there. One stage win would have been enough to make history!

My thinking is they want 2 preserve his & leave him level pegging.
In SPORT these days there could be some back room conversations going on , u just don't know . Why wouldn't his team wait untill the UK National Road Race 2 be completed b4 making such an announcement. Seems very 🐟🐟🐠🐡🐋🐳 2me
a bad man
👀
Deixar pra disputar no final com um sprintista é muito erro kkkkkk
Fn disgrace he's not riding the tour de f
Impossible de battre un sprinter de la ceux calibre tu joues le podium
