Mines been doing it since I got it. Haven’t had any issues I don’t know if I’m gonna replace it seems like way to much work

I have a 2014 Hyundai Santa Fe XL V6 3.3 with some faulty codes on it… mechanic wants to replace the whole engine, I still believe it’s on the VVT components (solenoids, sensors, timing chain maybe)… because car is still drivable, I can feel the car has lost power on lower RPM, rough after stopping… do you think it need to replace the whole engine?
Car has 246k, I just bought the car from someone who didn’t have made much basics maintenance… oil changes, spark plugs never replaced (I am going to do it next weekend).. I would appreciate if you could give me some ideas! Thank you

Oh my gosh thank you so much I could not find a video on this to save my life. Replaced mine last christmas and it still rattled and now the rattle is worse. Thinking I might have to replace it again. Idk maybe me and my dad didn't do it right or something.

Hey man mines does the same replace the chain and tensioners but still rattleling. What did you do to fix it

You guys have to replace the CVVT sprockets on the intake camshafts, if the chain & tensioners are fine. Also check your OCVs, they may be faulty too.

If so, let me know the total cost and how to contact you via phone and email. My big problem is the engine oil burns (no leaks seen on the ground) so fast that I have to refill it every 300-400 miles.

Sounds like its leaking internal, oil going into the exhaust and burn to smoke. Do a cylinder compression test and oil pressure test. Good luck
