Looks beautiful on you! But that’s also because you’re a beautiful woman. 😊 I love Sensai as a brand! I haven’t tried many of the products just because they’re so expensive but whatever I try I end up absolutely loving it! 🙂
Hi Sue it looks really pretty on the skin and I too remember using Kanebo back in the day. Their foundations weren't anywhere near a shade that matched me, but I liked their powder and some of the skincare from memory. As a dry skinned person, the new releases I'm seeing of all the cream foundations are something I'm interested in. Although this one isn't new as such, it is probably similar to some of the newer releases in texture/performance and Japanese foundations are popular for a reason. The technology used in the Japanese skincare/makeup is usually far ahead of that used in the West and we lag behind a little in that. Where the Japanese makeup fails is in shade selection - they only really cater to a very select set of shades most popular in that market. I know I won't find anything that remotely matches me in this foundation, so (whilst an interesting review of something a little different) it's not something I will be hunting out for myself. Even Shiseido (which has far more shades) doesn't make anything that remotely matches me unfortunately. Truthfully there aren't that many brands who do make foundations for the extreme ends of the colour spectrum, so that always severely limits my choices. As to primers - I like primers. On my very dry skin primers provide a layer that stops my skin eating my foundation and drawing every vestige of moisture out of them into my pores (causing polka dot pores). It also stops them looking as dry on me at the end of the day. I do use multiple layers of skincare and spf underneath, but my skin will still pull any hydration from the makeup into itself without that barrier in place. A matte primer can stop some of the oil production on an oily skin from breaking apart a foundation, which may suit you better. Often primers are only needed in certain parts of the face and not all over, which is another option to finding something that works. Best wishes.
Hi Loraine. I agree with you that the Japanese only make foundation shades for the Japanese... Lol. Such a pity. The primer was definitely not compatible with my skin although it felt lovely on. I really need a pore blurring primer for my t-zone. Although the foundation doesn't hide my imperfections, it feels so lovely on the skin. I would love to try shiseido one day but we don't get it here. I tried the Dior forever matte foundation the other day and unfortunately it tends to draw all the moisture from my skin and give me polka dot pores, much like the Bobbi brown long lasting foundation did. I think it could be the alcohol, not sure. I'm going to try and steer clear of foundations that contain alcohol for now. While I don't believe it's a bad ingredient per se, it does seem to dehydrate my skin. Xx
@@Fifty-sense The newly reformulated Dior glow foundation (the counterpart to the matte version you mentioned) also has a lot of alcohol and was severely dehydrating on my dry skin - such a shame as the shade 00 was perfection on me. I'm trialling the Dior F&B at the moment and it's better, although the shade isn't as perfect. Apparently prior to this reformulation the glow version was really good for dry skin, but this new one certainly wasn't for me. I do like the concealer though if that's of interest and don't have to set it with powder. x
I absolutely love their products. I have fair skin so I’m lucky because usually their products work really well for my skin. Their Cellular Performance pressed powder is universal and it’s such a beautiful powder!
Another Japanese foundation I’d eventually like to try is Shiseido’s new one. It looks so sheer, light, yet silky! I love the marketing manager of Shiseido! When I was young, I would do odd, low budget jobs for her. I was on a different assignment working as a fitting model for an airline’s flight attendant uniform. Coincidentally, she was there designing the cosmetic counter’s uniform. When she overheard the man making nasty comments about my body (I was slim) she put him in place, then called my agency to book me for a job for their in house magazine modeling a brightening lotion. I was served lunch in Shiseido’s CEO’s office and got to eat it at his desk. She did everything she could to try to make me feel better ❤️🩹

Thank you lovely lady! Yes, they're very spendy products. Not for the faint-hearted bank account 😅
@@Fifty-sense yes, they definitely aren’t. But it’s nice to treat yourself every once in a while 😉

I think the biggest thing is to determine what color I would be. Thank you for a wonderful review.
Morning Ranalynn. Yip, unfortunately not a huge shade range. Thank you for watching x
Looks lovely on you. Interesting the primer didn’t work out, all the better though, less fuss. Are there primers that are worth it?
I haven't yet found one tbh! I will let you know if I do x.
Thank you, I appreciate your videos as I have similar skin. Please continue creating videos! I’m in the US - where to purchase this brand?
Hi Kimberly. Thank you so much! There is a link to purchase in the description box below the video 😊
Try embryolise
