Our first two days in Bali, Indonesia were amazing! Nate surfed in Canggu, and we rented a scooter to drive to the Tanah Lot Temple at sunrise. It's a temple on a rock formation in the ocean, and we were the only tourists getting to watch the Hindu ceremonies the locals were starting their day with! Next we got a "local" DELICIOUS smoothie bowl (which turns out is not overrated at all), and a authentic "Warung" meal. We ended the day with our new friends Jordan, Olivia, and Richard! Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the travel bug! We started “travel hacking” and taking more trips together and finally decided we wanted to travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and travel hacking over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left January 10, 2016. We started this UA-cam channel to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling. So we extended our 1 year trip to THREE years :) Now we have a goal of traveling to 100 countries before Nate turns 30 (which is March 20, 2019)! We are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. :)

OMG That's exactly what I thought too!! The first thing flight agency advised us on our Bali trip was to avoid eating at Warungs!!! We still got sick on the last day of our trip in a 5 star hotel in Ubud! Ate only in the hotel and still got sick :(

At the end, instead of the Instagram you could sometimes put a trivia question based on the vlog! What did Nate order for dinner? What colour was the flower in Kara's hair? etc....then sometimes select someone who answers correctly, and send them a post card, etc!! This would increase your comments on each video, too :)

We went to Tanah lot for sunset a few years back and it was quite nice! There are some restaurants on the cliffside which made for an amazing view while we had a few quiet drinks.
Now this was 3 years ago so you might have learned that yes "Warung" does mean a cafe, usually on the side of the road, not so likely to be one in a proper building. The trucks you saw going the other way along the road as you were driving - with white and yellow material - those were groups of Balinese going off together to some sort of hindu ceremony. The roads were not particularly busy - if you ever come across here to Java you will discover more bikes - and much busier roads (in general). Bali is unique to Indonesia. Australians often don't even realise it is part of Indonesia. So, if you have visited Bali, beautiful and interesting though it is, you have hardly visited Indonesia. Most of the rest of Indonesia is much less touristy (although during 2020 and 2021, due to restrictions, of course, Bali is almost empty of tourists.
Once that youtube snowball starts rollin' it just keeps going and going. Not surprised that you guys gained a lot of subs in the last few months. And I'm pretty sure your award also generated alot more traffic to your channel.
Making a bold prediction here but 400k subscribers before Nate turns 30 looks achievable.

As an Australian (specifically a west Australian) it’s so fascinating to see how other people see Bali. I’ve been going to Bali since I was 3 and learned Bahasa Indonesia all the way through school. It’s just such a lovely island with a great culture, even though we only really see the tourist side.

I was there 2 years ago and I went at sunset the first time and yes it was CRAZY crowded. On my final day in Bali I went at sunrise and I was much happier. I only wish I had my drone at the time like you'll did. Anyway, keep inspiring us to travel, and keep smiling.
