Today’s travel day was a long one! We sadly left the villa of our dreams at Soneva Jani in the Maldives to embark on a 40 hour travel journey to Egypt. We flew from the island to Male, Male to Sri Lanka, spent the night at an AirBnB, flew to Muscat where we visited a super nice airport lounge, then finally from Oman to Cairo, Egypt! :)

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the travel bug! We started “travel hacking” and taking more trips together and finally decided we wanted to travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and travel hacking over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this UA-cam channel to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling. So we extended our 1 year trip to THREE years :) Now we have a goal of traveling to 100 countries before Nate turns 30 (which is March 20, 2019)! We are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. :)

Quick question, is it really safe to be traveling to egypt ? Don't get me wrong nowhere is safe but with the current "events" that have been going on like bombing ect is it ?
Only asking as its been my place to go since i was a kid (want to see the pyramids) but i have my concerns and by god my fiance is a big NO... we watch your vids and if you had any though on it that would be a good help on my half haha.

All the flying you do, I’d love a video on like...your biggest mistakes. The craziest flights be it crazy passengers or turbulence. Scariest country experience.
They did manage to miss a flight at one stage. And they almost missed a train once, I think it was in Asia.

See Min Lim think that was in Ecuador or other LA country. That was SCARY to watch! I would also love to see a behind the scenes type video: hoe they do laundry, change out their wardrobes, what happens to their souvenirs etc. All the “unglamorous” stuff! I haven’t seen one of those yet, although they have mentioned all of these in bits and pieces along the way.

I was in Sri Lanka last month (and then the Maldives haha) and it is literally one of the most incredible countries I've ever been to! The people, the food, the culture..I can't wait for you to head back there and do some amazing vlogs!

Last December, I went back to my natal country to spend the holidays with my family and my childhood friends. During my time in Colombia, I stopped watching your vlogs because I had way too much things to do (mostly parties). After a month, I came back to my house, and since then, it's been a roller coaster of projects, work, tests, more travelling, et cetera. But after more than 6 months, I finally was able to catch up with your vlogs. I really enjoy watching your channel at the end of my long days, it brings me happiness

Hi Kara and Nate!! A few questions: how many bags do you guys travel with? Have you had the same clothes, etc for the entire time you’ve traveled or have you been able to take a break to switch out your belongings? Do you plan your trips in advance or are you choosing the next countries as you go? Lastly, do you have planned working/editing days in between your blogging days or are you just editing whenever you have a chance (ie layovers, plane rides, etc.)? Thanks so much!!! know it was heart wrenching to leave the Maldives...the Soneva properties are just too perfect for words. Maybe you can get a chance to go to Soneva Kiri in Thailand one day... I would certainly count Sri Lanka and Oman as countries you've visited. If your passport got stamped, it counts! The little hotel you stayed at looked sweet, and the efforts by the owners were above and beyond. I'm really looking forward to seeing what you get up to in Egypt.

I particularily loved the ones about India and Nepal and the Trans Siberian train, as I sell a lot of Indian and Asian stuff and I'd just watched a series about the Russian train, reality series in Russian, with the staff that work on it.
It seems to be a pretty gruelling job. 2 weeks solid on the train and 2 weeks free. Right through the heart of winter as well.
It was via that series that I found your youtube channel, as you travelled on that train as well.
The stress, irregular hours and jet lag of that kind of travelling would drive me crazy.
But I love watching you two from my lazy armchair.
I think I'll watch your everest series this evening.

I’ve been watching your vlogs for the past few months and now I’m finally up to date!! Loved the Maldives vlogs!! Now I’m just sad that I have to wait for new vlogs now!
I've already got myself into Audible - they are good! All I need is the traveling schedule and an i-Thing! I just read a couple of your written works and you write as you speak. That can be a bit wearing when someone like me does it, but because you have an openness, and the authority of presenting your skills publicly, it works, and darned well. The bit about visas can catch people out - I'm glad you've covered it ( and popped a link in for folk). And the production standards are now so ridiculously good - you should do this full time!
I'm beyond sad to leave the Maldives... I mean, who WOULDN'T be, but man, I'm I excited to see Egypt!
By the way... that lounge in Oman was FANTASTIC! The architecture was beautiful, and the tile inlaid floors were SO shiny, even in the airport near the gates! Very luxurious.

I'm just coming to end of a 5 week trip in Sri Lanka and I would definitely recommend you return because its such an incredible country! I also visited the Maldives for a few days while I was here and despite not staying in one of those fancy villas I was also very sad to leave haha

EGYPT HELL YAH!!!!! I I spent a month there in Feb. Make sure you guys pay the 300EGP so you can take photos and film inside the tombs and certain temples. ITS TOTALLY WORTH IT.

I travel internationally for my work, and I have gotten to that age were, if I have an extra-long layover, I'll drop big bucks to stay at an airport transit hotel, so I can get a decent nights sleep, and not have to go through customs/security again.

Hello everyone, Wow" it wasn't very good". I'm surprised you would say that openly in a video about a host. After they were so nice to you both. Not cool. You must know they told everyone they know to watch the video because they were super proud I would think.
If you have to choose between being kind & being right then please choose kindness.

During your India tour, u should have visited uttrakhand state, u would have definitely loved it. Places like Nainital,bhimtal, Jageshwar temple etc and many more. Still though loved your vlogs on places u visited. I have been following u since ur India visit and it has been a wonderful experience. I wish u good luck on your 100 country travel tour.

THEY TURNED OUT AMAZING! My favorite thing was the river cruise
I spent a week in Sri Lanka after I graduated Hs to help with Tsunami relief.don't stay in the city is one recommendation I have. I stayed in a town called Ulawatuna, its a beach town its located on the southern end of the island. The people there from what I remember are very genuine, friendly as they welcomed the group I was with into their own homes for afternoon tea. At the time there was a civil war going on in the Northern part of the island and an interesting part to my trip was finding out the airport was bombed shortly after I took off to go back to the US. The civil war is over now and I would love to go back!
Please come to srilanka to have a visit when it is possible. Trust me it will be awesome. 😃

Great Vlog. I’m surprised they let you get on the flight to Colombo without a visa - unless they thought you were not leaving the airport for your connecting flight. Colombo has incredible hotels. Safe travels!!
