Hi alex, great video, thanks! What is the name of the levada u mentioned in your number 3? Looks awesome. I love to go as i m in Madeira now. But no sure if number 3 is closed due to the recent fire.
Hi, thank you for watching the video, and I'm really glad to hear you found it helpful. The levada that takes you through Túnel do Cavalo is called Levada das 25 Fontes. It takes you all the way to Cascata das 25 Fontes, but we created our own hybrid route in which we followed Levada do Risco to Risco Waterfall and then switched over to Levada das 25 Fontes (but didn't walk to the waterfall; instead, we walked the other direction, towards the tunnel, and back to the car park at the start of the hike). I hope that helps. There are so many hiking trails in this area it's really fun to make your own routes. AllTrails was incredible helpful for us to navigate.
They're still certainly lesser known than other more iconic locations on Madeira such as Pico Ruivo, Ponta de São Lourenço, and Ponta do Sol. All these places were relatively quiet and much less crowded which was really nice!
A great selection of places, i havent heard of a lot of these before! Madeira is beautiful😁
Thanks for watching! I think Madeira is the perfect place for taking yourself on along hike and finding hidden spots like this

So sad that they are not hidden anymore 😢
