My wife and I visited this gorgeous island in fall’ 22 and we can’t wait to go back. We drove all over the island and stayed in Camara de Lobos right on the bay - what a lovely town. One week was definitely not enough.

As a Real Estate Photographer and Videographer, I really enjoyed the flybys with Google earth and the cutaways to your drone shot of the same view. Well done.
Great job on information on my family and I were there recently August 6th - 2024 a lot of my family and my parents are from Madeira such a beautiful Island. Great job again just wish it was a rolling video instead of still pictures but thank you but thank you and God bless

Caniço, Santa Cruz is my home area. Rea Estate and Rent are going up very quickly. I bought my place less than a year ago and couldn't but it now for the same price. Madeira is beautiful but it would be difficult for anyone with mobility issues.
Same here. Bought in Canico Garajau in December for a good price. Have been vacationing in Garajau for years and love it. It feels like home. Hoping to move there permanently in 2.5 years.

Wow, thank you!!! 🙏🏼 Overrun? To be honest I was out and about around the island so much, I couldn't say. I was in Funchal fairly early in the morning, so it wasn't super busy. People have said that it's packed, and I saw that at the hiking points. It'll get worse in the middle of summer they say.

Great drone footage to really show us the island and its communities. As we prepare to move to the island this summer, the big picture look at its topography is very helpful - even for folks like us, who are pretty familiar with the island. One minor thing: You said Madalena do Mar (better sunsets than Ponta do Sol, we think) is part of Calheta, but everything else we see (Idealista, etc) places it in Ponta.
What a seductive voice and mellifluous accent! If you were a news anchor, even the worst of global events would sound a lot less dire. I simply had to subscribe. Hope you will be diving in greater detail into both Funchal and Canico, where I have been property hunting, in your subsequent videos. Canico is great value because of its proximity and good public transport links to Funchal. But I also like Sao Goncalo (best vantage point for the New Year fireworks), Sao Roque and Livramento, which are more affordable than the blatantly touristy and over-developed Sao Martino and also high enough to offer panoramic vistas but not too high like Monte which then suffers from damp and seems ensconced in a perpetual cloud.

Maybe for holidays, Madeira could be a cool place to visit but for living?, I don't think so, i came form the Caribbean and i can yell you, i have seen amazing natural beauties, the island does not surpass it, is a boring place for living, but if boring is what you are looking for, then this is definitely the place for you. And if you have to work in Madeira, well, it will be also a struggle financially, so, even less fun
Any chances for Americans who want to practice niche agriculture? I would definitely contribute to the island and make it more enjoyable, abundant, and beautiful than it already is.

Are there any sandy beaches on Madeira ?
No, not really. although Porto Moniz has black sand. The best bet is on Porto Santo island, two hours ferry ride away.
