Hey Joel, great video! Around what time of the year did you visit Madeira? I'm asking because of the many clouds I noticed in your footage... I went to the Azores last year and although it had the most magnificent nature I've ever seen, the rainy weather was sometimes a real dealbreaker so I'd really prefer some sun during my trip to Madeira in September 🙂
I GOT DENIED ON BOARD TO GO BACK HOME FROM LISBON, I OPENED UA-cam SITTING ON MY LUGGAGES STILL IN THE AIRPORT, YOUR VIDEO POPPED UP, I WATCHED IT, I STOOD UP AND I BOARDED FOR MADEIRA INSTEAD AND IT WAS THE BEST TRIP EVER, YOU CHANGED THE COURSE OF MY LIFE :)
You probably dont care but does someone know a trick to get back into an Instagram account? I was stupid forgot the login password. I would love any tips you can offer me!
Madeira has an old saying that "God made the earth in 7 days, Madeira took a whole day" I am English and have had the pleasure of living in Madeira for 52 years.
I live in madeira, my whole life.. and one place even the locals are not very aware (at least most people) and its quite unique and i loved it.. is "Caminho dos pés descalços".. its like a small trail wich you leave your shoes on the beginning and go barefoot the whole way, and theres ike different terrains where you walk, like some its rocks, other sand, water etc.. but its not difficult and you can bring children, not dangerous.. its mostly fun.. and you can choose to do the terrains or you can skip the hardest ones if you want...definetly recommend.. another place you forgot to mention its the "zoo" in Prazeres.. ithas few animals but fun place to go, theres turtles, lamas, even a donkey that screams very loud... All inall i ove living here, people are nice... forgot to mention, but the trail i mentioned its free, but the zoo you pay a simbolic ammount, last time i checked it was 1€...
@@ALittleObsessed hello, yes its open all day long, its not private property, its like a walk you can do even if the nearby hotel is closed, and you dont need any guide.. if you ever come to madeira let me know, i own a a cafe and we like new people, friendly place :)
There is so much to explore on this small island, that one week is not enough time even if you are an active explorer. Loved the power of the mountain and the smell of nature.
I first came to Madeira in 1968 on a TAP flight from the Azores when I was stationed there and the runway length was very small. Nearly everything was concentrated in Funchal. Then about 2010 my wife and I came back again via the Azores and marveled at how transformed with EU loans the island had become. Today with huge numbers coming from EU it may be a bit less so, but still a delightful safe place to travel to.
Im from Madeira, thank you for this beautiful video about Madeira I like this spots: Fajã dos Padres; Achadas da Cruz; Rocha do Navio; Balcões in Ribeiro Frio. Queimadas in Santana. Porto Moniz. Achada do Teixeira in Santana. Madalena do Mar Farol da Ponta do Pargo And I like to drink Poncha too
I´ve just come back from Madeira and I can say it is absolutely incredible, every part of the island offers something unique! My favourite spot was also Pico do Arieiro, its just surreal!
I visit Madeira fer times and still didn’t visit all places. It’s for sure the most Beautiful island in Europe, and people and the Food 🤤🤤🤤 this Garlic bread, just to die for !!
What a Stunnig place,Madeira. Ive been there twice, and what is more mind boggling to me,is how "man" were able to build towns, bridges, tunnels, etc in such a hostile geography,is a real testemony to human endevour and determination. But in the end the price of that massive "project" since the 15 th Century paid off,big time. Is a Magical place that deserves a visit before "you" gone, for sure. Ive been there twice, and i can say that is one of the most beautiful places on earth. And ive been already in many countries in 4 continents. PS: That Forest is called the "Laurissilva Forest" and is World Heritage,is abaut 20 million years old,and looks like you are in another world,Magical place.
All of you are welcome in my birthplace , named ilha da Madeira . I lived out of the island but , since I returned I never search for another place to live . Today , 2 of September of 2022 I was at Porto da Cruz and I knew amazing people and different places who's I never knew before . Best regards from “Atlantic pearl”
I traveled to Madeira two months ago and I did most of the things you recommend here. It was amazing, by far the most beatiful place I've been to. In fact, I started learning portuguese because I'm definitely coming back. I also wanted to add Porto moniz, it's a place with natural pools created from a volcano. The water is freezing but it's absolutely beatiful
Hard to choose one. Porto Moniz, Ponta do Pargo, praia do garajau, penha d'aguia, levada walks '25 fontes' ... There's infinite places that are just perfect. Madeira paradise 💙💙💙

wow, the details you included in this video are so excellent and helpful. Especially showing the maps images as well as saying the travel time from Funchal!
I'm going to Madeira next week, and it looks like the Azores islands, it's all about spots and views all over again. Love that you went under the water, that was cool!
Just went there and the sunrise at Pico Ruivo is something that will blast you away. My group camped overnight at the small campground there (you'll need a permission though) after walking the PR1 trail from Pico Arieiro to Pico Ruivo. Was freezing cold, because we went walking at the only rainy day, but it was still a supercool trail. People say it is a difficult trail, but as an dutchie with some hiking experience, I found it easy, even when wet.
Nice one! We always walk Madeira on our own foot, using sometimes buses or taxi. You really enjoy it different way, sleep in the tent, cook your own meals i the nature, wear everything on your back...
