      I'm afraid I don't think so, at all. I admire that she is serving her country, but the early years in children's lives are very formative and therefore I believe mothers shouldn't stay away from their babies for such a long time. I left mine with my mother for a couple of days from time to time and as much as he loves granny, he wanted back to mommy again. To be honest, I find it sad that the boy had to spend one third of his life without both parents.

      My father was orphaned at a young age and was separated from his siblings soon after. Once he turned 18, he went straight into the military. Upon arrival home, he was alone. He didn't have to scan the crowd, because there was no one he needed to look for. The very next night, however, my mother was his barhop at a diner, and he finally had someone he would miss. Now he has 8 children, 3 grandchildren, and he has found all 5 of his siblings again. He says he doesn't remember how to be lonely, but he still knows sympathy for those who suffered as he did.

    It's very sad to see a child in his formative years not be with his parents on a regular basis. As a teacher who worked with young children for close to forty years, I can't begin to tell you how many heartbreaking situations I have seen primarily because of absent and/or negligent parents. I too grew up with parents who worked long hours from the time I was three years old. I always told myself I would never do two full-time jobs (motherhood and an outside job) at the same time if I had children. It just isn't humanly possible to give your best to both at the same time. One or the other, or both will suffer for it.

Don't give me crap that she carried the child, there are moms out there who go out clubbing and never love their baby. Just like there are piece of crap dad's too. These parents are fighting for their country and switching roles to make sure that their child is still taken care of. Now this child can connect with mom and dad. So I hope these parents keep up the good work.

They leave their kids and have been for generations going off to war, and people chant “respect, respect.” but all of a sudden once it’s the mother that leaves, she’s “horrible” for leaving her son to serve her country???

      Mothers are the primary caregiver. It's scientifically documented that a mother's presence is incredibly imperative to a young child's development. Also, this video is about a MOTHER. of course nobody is talking about fathers in the military, but if this were about a father, I'd say the exact same thing - nobody has a right to go into the military when you have young children. By running up to his mum, this little boy just did what came natural to him as any child would. In a small childs' mind, military rules do not exist and therefore he did not ignore them and the wording in the comment section is very inappropriate because it makes the child seem like he is at fault when he is not.

    • @2drealms196
      @2drealms196 7 років тому +10

      I can't believe the military is that desperate for personnel they started recruiting toddlers.
      Well actually I could see this coming. Some military experts were talking about geometric changes in the military. Perhaps the fact they behave so unpredictably gives them an element of surprise over enemy combatants which is why they are being recruited. They also pose smaller targets and are harder to hit. Plus a transport full of Toddlers weighs less and would save on military fuel expenditures.

If you are not American, I bear you no ill will for disagreeing with me. But if you are American, then show some respect for the men and women who protect and serve our country. You don’t like our policies, vote the war mongers out of office. Why attack those who serve us in the front lines?

    They seem like a young couple trying. Some people on here are so judgey and perhaps I am too right now, but look at their house! It doesn't look like they have much and are just starting out in life. The military provides their family with income and all sorts of benefits. I am sure they love their son and don't want to be away for that long but when duty calls, you must answer. I admire both of them for serving in the forces. It is very honorable. Not everybody is willing to make the sacrifices they make, like not being able to see your children for long periods of time for example. Plus it is very likely they were both already in the armed forces before their child came along and can't really just leave. They must serve out their contract.

      Clarice1933 most of what the military does overseas is protect locals from terrorist groups, offer medical aid and protection for innocents, help build public facilities such as schools, hospitals and roads. you have such a negative view of the military for someone who has never lived it.
