Fuel rail plug and ppe boost valve help a lot on stock or basic bolt on trucks and they’re great when you’re on a budget
I bought my uncles friend lb7 he had replace all injectors, 3inch down pipe 4" exhaust pipe, he did full airdog filter pump, efi live tuner, cold air intake. Now ima need to get the transmission rebuild to hold more power
M.A. high idle kit?
Pro fab turbo elbow?
Fleece all headlight/fog on mod?
Use some hot shot secret additives..big difference
My lb7 averages low 15 second passes I have a stage 3 cold air intake boost valve, fass 165 titanium, mbrp 5 inch exhaust, and duramax tuner efi live trans safe tunes, I highly recommend the ppe fuel race valve too
Your truck being an 03, you should be able to toss in a fleece tap shifter like in the 06 and up trucks, also, when you build the trans, your trans is a 6 speed, you need to change out the valve body on it to get 6th, look into the conversion 3 companies have kits
Also since you are getting an efi live tune, look into getting an lbz regulator for an extra few psi at the rail
Tie rod sleeves are important too
I got my LB7 and it needed injectors. Ended up getting them on and replacing the turbo along the way. Now I need head gaskets... Debating on replacing the engine with 320k or throwing gaskets and studs on and running her til she blows. Gotta fix the rust but she runs great and shifts good. Stage 5 EFI Live will slip the stock trans though.

Ended up having cracked pistons. New shortblock and heads reworked. Going back together now 😅
Just letting you know be careful of the injector cups in the LB7. I’ve blown the cups out of my 2002 and it’s a big job. I’m going to have screw in cups installed so I’ll have to lift the heads. I have a bigger turbo as well and the amount of boost blew the cups out I believe it’s 33lbs and above, I hit 50lbs. Edelbrock also made a new pair of race heads just for the LB7 I purchased them but I returned them when I found a place to do the screw in cups for $800 vs $4400 for the heads.

How strong is the stock headbolts I have a 2004 lb7 wcfab stage2 intake 3in down pipe 4in straight pipe plan on doing edge cts3 just wondering how much power they can hold before upgrading them to arp my truck has 245k miles I’m the 2nd owner 1st was a old man it was stock it’s whole life until I got it

Ya that won’t come till awhile. The truck is now tuned with efi live, lift pump, and beans sump
#2 DIESEL did you do the Allison build yet? If so how difficult was it
no i havent done it yet. I have been working on my volvo and me and a friend built a race truck so thats been alot of work.
Stock Allison will handle 600 stock internals Will handle 550 but I would not do it a lot or hold it there but that’s bigger turbo tuned and air intake I like your videos tho it’s funny

What do you look for when you buy a lb7
U have to make sure the injectors have been done. Somewhat recently if possible. No haze at idle. Also when the truck is hot take the oil fill cap off and look for white smoke to come out. Hopefully there is none. It’s called blow by. If there is a tiny amount ur might be ok for while. Shake the fan make sure it doesn’t rock. That means the water pump is going bad and it’s a big job. If u have a tuner u can check balance rates if u want. Just make sure u look over all the truck. Don’t get to emotional when u go to look at one.
