I have a 1997 F250 with the 7.3 and a ZF5, but there is no smoke at all on the stock tune unless you count cold starts. Now I have tried disconnecting the EOT sensor and putting a 500k and 1M resistor in there, making the PCM think it's very cold out (-20F and -40 respectively). This not only raises the idle to 1200-1500 RPM, but makes the engine sound very angry/vibrate a lot, with plenty of smoke at idle and a very snappy throttle response. The engine adjustments seem to max out at -20F as going any further doesn't appear to produce any different results. I doubt it has much performance improvement though, but it's a dirt cheap mod and can be easily wired to a switch to keep it disabled most of the time. With the way I have it set up, the EOT sensor is always disconnected and the normal mode on the switch makes the PCM think the oil temp is 95F using an 18k resistor. This is the lowest temperature that the PCM will not raise idle for a manual transmission truck. With an automatic, you can go as low as 32F without raising idle using a 98k resistor. AFAIK, those values definitely apply to OBS and should be good for Super Duty 7.3s as well.
Hey man my dad has a 2002 f250 7.3 with a zf6 manual trans that thing would blow some black smoke untuned and all stock except for exhaust and intake but the auto trans 7.3 he’s got with the same mods won’t
Thanks brotha. There aren’t a lot of good truck UA-camrs out there I find a lot of that content boring to watch. But if I were to choose someone it would be donut or westin Champlain.
I have a 14 6.7 powerstroke and she only likes to roll coal if she’s in the bottom end and I punch it and it only happens some times, I have the bdx sct tuner on it and I’m on street tune haven’t changed it maybe try a different tune? Idk
Do go out and roll coal. You pay good money for the fuel you put in your tank, is not a good idea send it out the tailpipe "unburnt". Unburned fuel is fuel that didn't make you any power.
"What do you need to roll coal on a diesel truck?" A huge ego. A massive sense of entitlement. A total disregard for others. A contempt for the environment. A massive surplus of pettiness.
It isn't a reason, it's a result of performance tuning. People started doing it to mess with people and here we are today. Ultimately it became an easy target for the EPA. The joke is, an average fast food restaurant puts out a ridiculous amount of carbon particulates into the air, but nobody seems to care. Anyway, we won the war, 'merica!
Forbidden in the US as well. It's against federal law to modify an engine in a manner that defeats the anti pollution equipment. That's why any cop can stop any vehicle doing this. Some states have laws as well forbidding it.
Hello my names roll coal and I Like to roll coal. So rolling coal is where your roll your coal pretty coal eh roll. First things first you wanna roll coal and then roll some more coal. Coal coil a coco bro rolling and boiling. Roll coal I’m out
How much coal can a coal roler role if a coal roler could role coal?

I like to drive on a clean tune but i do like the smoke for the tailgating folk 😂
@ 1:07 I subscribed. I’m in your boat!!! Best way to do it all.
I made this video a drinking game, I took a shot every time he said Roll Coal - I was drunk in the 1st minute. :D
Us alcoholics are pretty creative 😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣 me too! Pissed as a newt! 🤣🤣
This guy says "I do it myself" more than my 2 year old does.
How to roll coal in a diesel truck
Step 1 don’t
Unless someone asks for it

I have observed that pickup truck drivers are generally a holes on the road.
And here we have 30 of them getting excited about their trucks making black smoke. IQs are very high...
Just bought a 17 tuned a deleted ram 2500 and she dont smoke at all. Which is good here in ny cause they are tough.

Air intake will most likely make you roal less coal as your pulling in more cool air .
ROAL COAL!!!!

New Jersey outlawed rolling coal after a state legislator driving his Prius got coal rolled.
Meanwhile in Idaho we've removed the need to do emissions testing lol good ole country boys here!

What a great video to come home to. Just waxed a 2g with 50 overs and a edge tuner and ima stock 7.3 with. Super chip;)

definetly trying a higher hp tune will do the trick
I have a 14 6.7 too and it rarely rolls and even if it does it’s because I drop the petal and I have the highest hp tune offered
I tuned my truck and still won’t role coal it’s a 02 duramax
You need to do a delete
Send it Bobby, more fuel!
smoke switch!
This is what I was going to say! 😎
Sup?
What about P pump
The coal rolling to cloud the tailgater isn’t gonna be able to match the rolling copper plated lead coming up from behind.

All those fumes have rotten your brain cells
edge tuners are good for smoke
