The first time i saw the deku butler watching that tree, i was like '':O !!!!!! IT WAS HIS SON !!! I was very shocked cuz i couldn't imagine that. FUCK ocarina of time, majoras mask it's the best.
Honestly, i know this game didnt have many big bosses, but story and mechanics wise with the time loop and how events play out at certain times, makes this one of the GOAT game.
I saw this old comment once of someone saying he imagined the Deku Butler screaming “That’s my son. It’s my boy! My boy” like Cedric’s dad in Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire
Sadly, this would be the Hero of Time's last adventure with us before eventually dying. But it would not be the last time we would see him. But that's a story for another time.
When you realize this Link saved the world 2 times and barely anybody knows that. Many years later he is just some random Stalfos that teaches a new hero some cool sword moves.
After so many years, I re-passed the game today. Seeing the butler's sadness over his dead son really got to me, but as soon as I heard the the lost woods theme along with the carved picture, I actually cried. I've never played a game in my life that gave me as much feels as Majora's Mask.
At 8:25 I heard the music with earbuds that had only one headphone functional and it sounded low pitched. Actually sounds good once it gets to the opera singing at 8:41.
I recently started to feel terrible for Link at the end of this game. After all of the things he did for the land of Termina, Tatl just up and kicked him out. It’s sad to me.
I REALLY hope Nintendo makes a sequel to Majora's Mask one day. The Hero of Time really needs a third and final game to give his story closure. Did he EVER find Navi? Did he marry Malon and start a family with her? What was his relationship with Zelda like when he returned to Hyrule? So many unanswered questions. 😞
One of the things I always love is that in the beginning, when you're walking through the woods there's a dense mist surrounding Link and making his journey difficult, but at the end, he raises his head and the mist fades away, allowing sunlight to appear again. It feels like Link has overcome his struggles, and can finally go back home.
HOLY SHIT, I NEVER NOTICED THAT!!!!! Seriously, that is fucking awesome, that's more or less proof that his appearance as a humble mask salesman is nothing but a disguise. Thanks for pointing that out for me, I've played through Majoras Mask several times, and just recently 100% it, getting every single collectible and heart piece in the game, and still I've never noticed that until you pointed it out for me! Thank you! :D ...Though I can't fathom why someone would see that as a glitch... :/
because no one mentions it: the ending actually changes depending on which mask you don't have. if you're missing any masks then the part of the ending tied to that mask is instead replaced with the mask you're missing rotating in a void.
That image at 9:10 just breaks my heart. Out of all the Zelda titles, Majora's Mask has, by far, the most heart and compassion for its characters, and that's why, despite the amazing technical achievements of 'Twilight Princess' and the epic scale of 'Ocarina of Time,' 'Majora' will forever remain my favorite Zelda title.
Greatest game of all time. This was the game that changed my life because I've never played anything like it. I still don't understand why people say OOT was better, but this game was better in every phase.
Masterpiece of a game just like OOT. But I do not like how the Happy Mask Salesman and Tatl never gave Link a proper thank you despite all he had done to save Termina. At least Skull Kid remembered him.
I'm pretty sure (s)he's not talking about how the Happy Mask Salesman disappears.(S)He's talking about how right before he disappears, a mask the shape of his face appears on the back of his pack alongside the other masks. It looks like he took off his face as a mask.
The end scene at the wedding , the camera is positioned so that you are seeing through the eyes of Kafei looking down at his wife implying he's an adult again. Subtle and great storytelling
Who else agrees that there absolutely must be a sequel to this game? I remember beating this game when I was around 7 or 8, and I always wondered what happened to that Link, the best Link. I would love to see the Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask Link come back in a future game with good graphics. I always thought it would be cool if Termina and Hyrule were in the same game and you could travel to both.
Best game I ever played. I have played Ocarina time, Banjo Kazooie, Donkey Kong 64, Donkey Kong country, Halo, Conker's bad fur day and more! But I felt so emotional when I beat this game, only few games give me that feeling, COD definitely is not the game I am talking about( in fact it's shit) But the only other game who gave me the feels was FF7, Majora's mask is the best game ever.
Yup, and it means all of Link's efforts of saving the world was all for nothing, just like in Ocarina of Time when Zelda sent him back to his childhood.
This game is super epic I remember I had to buy a expansion pack for my Nintendo 64 just to be able to play the game and I bought the book for it too and in my personal opinion you couldn't beat the game without the strategy guide and I'll give you one example why is because Link obtains a flute and on some missions you need that flute to play certain songs and the game itself doesn't show you the actual buttons/ music notes that you need to play and some songs require a lot of musical notes and there's a lot of task in general where you need the book so if you did beat the game without a strategy guide then you're pretty much a genius
it is not 'rumored' that the hero's shade is a direct ancestor of TP link.. the hero's shade says it on the game.. and hyrule historia says they are blood related. so no.. link is not dead. we can even see him going back to the lost woods at the end of this credits 9:20
Link doesn't need any of those things. He saves the world because that is what he must do, and he knows that no reward matters. Saving the world and making people happy is rewarding enough in itself.
I think Saria's Song has a connection to Termina, or at least the Song of Healing. If you've noticed, the Song of Healing is Saria's Song played backwards.
I saw the entire game to be a bump in the road for Link. He defeats Ganondorf and goes in search of Navi where he soon falls into the land of Termina. The entire 3 day quest for me was all so he could finally go back to finding his friend. Being forced into a strange land so different from his own and having to save it from a terrible evil. Just adding to the reasons why he's the Hero of Time. Just let him go back home.
So... did Link ever tell Lulu that Mikau’s dead. I feel like he did tell her. The scenario would be like this. Link: Hiya! Hut! Lulu: what are you saying, kid? Link: hut! Lulu: if you wanted an autograph you should’ve just asked. *Prepares to write and Autograph for link* *Lulu proceeds to hand Link the autograph.* Lulu: there you go, hope you come to my show. *Link then looks at the camera* Link: Hiya! *Link then puts on Mikau’s mask* Lulu: oh, now I get it. This was a lot more comedic then I thought it would be.
9:30 Do we know that’s a Hyrulian forest? Just a thought. How long was he in termina? He went to the festival, when did he go back? The armor of the heroes shade reminds me of termina, frankly.
Also, how the fuck did the Deku Butler get back to that point of the game? Remember that the door in Clock Tower closes and stays permanently shut for the rest of the game, locking off that area.
link also get back.. we can see him on the lost woods from hyrule at the end, then he has a family and BUUM generations after link from TP comes to life
Such a depressing game, but very enjoyable to play. It's too bad that it is impossible to solve all of the problems in the game due to all the death that occurs before the game begins.
To me, it always seemed a little weird how Tatl says to Link, "So, why don't you just get out of here. The rest of us have a carnival to go to." as if she were saying, "The moon has gone back up. The world is saved. We don't need you here anymore." I mean, Tatl, Tael & the Skull Kid could've asked Link if he wanted to stick around for the carnival, but Link most likely would've declined, but hey it doesn't hurt to at least offer, am I right?

Honestly, i know this game didnt have many big bosses, but story and mechanics wise with the time loop and how events play out at certain times, makes this one of the GOAT game.
the very end with skull kid link and the giants carved into the log literally makes me cry every time
I saw this old comment once of someone saying he imagined the Deku Butler screaming “That’s my son. It’s my boy! My boy” like Cedric’s dad in Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire
Sadly, this would be the Hero of Time's last adventure with us before eventually dying. But it would not be the last time we would see him. But that's a story for another time.
I don't think of it as his last adventure, just his last adventure with us! I feel like he's been on many since then!
@@Tam00393That's true.
Don't forget Super Smash Bros and Soul Calibur II. He's not forgotten.
Then years later, Link was forgotten and became a spirit and taught his descendant the hidden skills.
Yeah, Twilight Princess did him dirty...
When you realize this Link saved the world 2 times and barely anybody knows that. Many years later he is just some random Stalfos that teaches a new hero some cool sword moves.
The Hero everyone needs but doesn't deserve
After so many years, I re-passed the game today. Seeing the butler's sadness over his dead son really got to me, but as soon as I heard the the lost woods theme along with the carved picture, I actually cried. I've never played a game in my life that gave me as much feels as Majora's Mask.
Well shit, since I didn't do the Kafei and Anju side quest, they never got married... fuck.
It’s sad to me.
link actually does stay for the carnival before leaving termina. you can see him in the credits performing with the zora band since Mikau is dead
Yeah, Tatl is a jerk compared to Navi. But not only that, even the Happy Mask Salesman didn't thank him either.
6:31 The guards watching those girls dancing looks so creepy.
I agree with you. Majora's Mask is my favorite game of all time because it's the only one that can actually get you to pity the NPCs.
And in the end.... we saw him in Twilight Princess again....💔
9:10 man.... brings tears to my eyes. The Butler and his son :'c
Saria's Song excerpt at the end hints that the Skull Kid is there hidden, that give me chills
9:10 - 9:19 Deku Butler and his son, fuck I just got that :(
One of the things I always love is that in the beginning, when you're walking through the woods there's a dense mist surrounding Link and making his journey difficult, but at the end, he raises his head and the mist fades away, allowing sunlight to appear again. It feels like Link has overcome his struggles, and can finally go back home.
He's Looking for navy
This part always reminds me of the end of school and we are out for summer
HOLY SHIT, I NEVER NOTICED THAT!!!!! Seriously, that is fucking awesome, that's more or less proof that his appearance as a humble mask salesman is nothing but a disguise. Thanks for pointing that out for me, I've played through Majoras Mask several times, and just recently 100% it, getting every single collectible and heart piece in the game, and still I've never noticed that until you pointed it out for me! Thank you! :D
...Though I can't fathom why someone would see that as a glitch... :/
because no one mentions it:
the ending actually changes depending on which mask you don't have.
if you're missing any masks then the part of the ending tied to that mask is instead replaced with the mask you're missing rotating in a void.
I think that only happens in the 3d version
@@aldreid1002 i tested it. yes this does happen.
Omg wow
That image at 9:10 just breaks my heart. Out of all the Zelda titles, Majora's Mask has, by far, the most heart and compassion for its characters, and that's why, despite the amazing technical achievements of 'Twilight Princess' and the epic scale of 'Ocarina of Time,' 'Majora' will forever remain my favorite Zelda title.
Greatest game of all time. This was the game that changed my life because I've never played anything like it. I still don't understand why people say OOT was better, but this game was better in every phase.
Don't get over yourself. This game reused OOT's resources, so it still can't outclass it. But it is still a masterpiece.
My favorite zelda game
Can you play after the credit?
@@KhalilSonic I know😁
Masterpiece of a game just like OOT.
I wish we could have seen an adult Kafei standing next to Anju. Then, this ending would have been perfect.
Twilight princess
Ocarina of time ending made me cry so hard, but majoras mask ending made me cry even harder
Twilight Princess AND Majora's Mask endings were the saddest 😢
Both masterpiece games have a sad story for the Hero of Time.
Old COD campaigns were so good tho
The faries are so adorable when they cuddle :3
This hits hard when you find out that the land of Termina is only a dream made up by the bored SkullKid!
Yup, and it means all of Link's efforts of saving the world was all for nothing, just like in Ocarina of Time when Zelda sent him back to his childhood.
6:56 dat upside down dog
This game is super epic I remember I had to buy a expansion pack for my Nintendo 64 just to be able to play the game and I bought the book for it too and in my personal opinion you couldn't beat the game without the strategy guide and I'll give you one example why is because Link obtains a flute and on some missions you need that flute to play certain songs and the game itself doesn't show you the actual buttons/ music notes that you need to play and some songs require a lot of musical notes and there's a lot of task in general where you need the book so if you did beat the game without a strategy guide then you're pretty much a genius
Link isn't dead, he appears in TP as the hero's shade and it is rumored that he is also an direct ancestor to the TP hero
it is not 'rumored' that the hero's shade is a direct ancestor of TP link.. the hero's shade says it on the game.. and hyrule historia says they are blood related. so no.. link is not dead. we can even see him going back to the lost woods at the end of this credits 9:20
Badi Nigga, at the time of TP Link IS dead
Elian González:3 dah
+Derpy Recon well the link from tp was an ancestor of mm link so mm link didnt die in mm
Nirvashv7 link isn't dead, this is the kid timeline so he can't be dead
Link doesn't need any of those things. He saves the world because that is what he must do, and he knows that no reward matters. Saving the world and making people happy is rewarding enough in itself.
“You’re not fighting to save the world, you’re fighting to save the people in it” 🔥🔥🔥
He still ultimately regretted his actions in the end.
Peak
@LITTLE1994 he regretted not teaching before his passing not the life he lived.
I think Saria's Song has a connection to Termina, or at least the Song of Healing. If you've noticed, the Song of Healing is Saria's Song played backwards.
the ending with the tree trunk and the lost woods theme was amazing
I teared up at the Butler mourning his son, then gave a sad smile at hearing "Saria's Song" played at the treestump.
Bro this game is an absolute work of art
Always wondered with the wedding scene, where the hell is Kafei???
He's there, just not in his kid form.
Behind tingle's big butt.. :P
From the moment we see the father mourning his dead son and on, I experienced both great happiness and extreme sadness at the same time...
*Prepares to write and Autograph for link*
*Lulu proceeds to hand Link the autograph.* Lulu: there you go, hope you come to my show.
*Link then looks at the camera* Link: Hiya! *Link then puts on Mikau’s mask*
Lulu: oh, now I get it.
This was a lot more comedic then I thought it would be.
9:30
Do we know that’s a Hyrulian forest? Just a thought. How long was he in termina? He went to the festival, when did he go back?
The armor of the heroes shade reminds me of termina, frankly.
Also, how the fuck did the Deku Butler get back to that point of the game? Remember that the door in Clock Tower closes and stays permanently shut for the rest of the game, locking off that area.
link also get back.. we can see him on the lost woods from hyrule at the end, then he has a family and BUUM generations after link from TP comes to life
Definetly the most beautiful end secuence in zelda history
Indigo-go's. Still a better band than 1D
True
And Kafei and Anju’s relationship is a better love story than Twilight
An amazing sendoff to the N64. And Paper Mario to cap it off :'-)
Such a depressing game, but very enjoyable to play. It's too bad that it is impossible to solve all of the problems in the game due to all the death that occurs before the game begins.
I love the song the Indigo-gos play. So jazzy. I wish I could figure out how to play it.
To me, it always seemed a little weird how Tatl says to Link, "So, why don't you just get out of here. The rest of us have a carnival to go to." as if she were saying, "The moon has gone back up. The world is saved. We don't need you here anymore."
I mean, Tatl, Tael & the Skull Kid could've asked Link if he wanted to stick around for the carnival, but Link most likely would've declined, but hey it doesn't hurt to at least offer, am I right?
I agree with you so much. I won't lie, I cried when I finally got Anju and Kafei together. I was so damn happy, and that scene was so touching....
