Your Uncle Recovers and Flute Boy Plays Again made me really happy. The fact they both died was pretty sad. Especially bringing flute boy's dad his son's flute. That was pretty sad. The fact it all wraps up nicely is great though. Great game and a perfect ending in my opinion.
The greatest ending not only to a Zelda game, but to any game in general. The Staff Roll theme at 5:50 might be my favorite piece of music in any video game, along with Mario 64's Staff Roll.
Got this for my 10th birthday in 1992 (was the only thing I asked for that year)…still have memories of playing this in front of my woodgrain CRT and being so excited and proud of completing it. A truly epic game with a perfect ending.
Same here! I'm playing it right now, actually, but it's paused. Misery Mire, here I come! This game has everything, and it's just wonderful! I'm a completionist, so I look for and find every item and trick I can find. The design and story is so fun! It's still a fairly challenging game, even though I've probably beaten it, literally about 500 times now-from start to finish! I like that it is also less linear, too. The music is beyond epic! The ending gives me goosebumps every time! It's beyond amazing and just so nostalgic! I love classic SNES games, but this game has a special place in my heart-like a full Heart Container. It just fills me with joy and memories! It's a masterpiece! I'm grateful to have experienced it with you! ❤
It's amazing how such small things as a video game ending can bring back so many memories. Wait.. It's not just a video game ending. It's an end to the greatest adventure I've ever had.
I consider Link to the Past as the best 'pure' Zelda game. It's the Zelda formula done absolutely perfectly. Many of the other games, Ocarina, Windwaker, Skyward Sword, etc were great in their own ways, but they all had some 'gimmick' which defined them. Whether it was the sailing or the musical element of the ocarina. They represented interesting divergences from the Zelda formula that, while cool, diluted them somewhat. I don't really hold this against them, Link to the Past is essentially perfect and it was intelligent to realize that they couldn't top it and needed other elements to mix up the formula.
Exactly what I've said for years. LttP is the best LoZ game hands down. OoT was heavily based off of it because it was so good. I dream of a day Nintendo finally remasters LttP in full 3D. That would be a very legendary experience. Even though it'll be the exact same game, the play through would be completely different. Imagine Turtle Rock with 3D aspects, Skull Woods, Tower of Ganon. The fights with Agahnim and the final fight with Ganon. Hell all of the boss fights. It would bring the game to a level of hard never known since the beginning lol
+Mika Misame I agree with you. A Link to the Past is the best Zelda game ever. However, I'm playing the N3DS game "Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds" and it feels ENTIRELY playing A Link to the Past (For some obvious reasons). I used to play A Link to the Past when I was about 15 years old, and now it is like going back in time more than 20 years. I suggest you give it a try. I'm enjoying every second of it.
Sergio Domenech I absolutely love LBW. I beat it and hard mode both full completions within a couple days. It's definitely got the Lttp feel since it's a sequel, no complaints at all
@@mikamisaki2455 be careful what you wish for. I am a simple man, I rather have this game with this cartoonish style but polished to the best a pixel can go. And maybe since we had a sequel on 3DS , we could get a bit of expansion of the game with optional dungeons and something else after endgame. But anyway it is really hard to make this game better than it already is. Maybe on next nintendo console we'll have it... Or maybe for 30th anniversary... They know this game is a damn legend, they should do something!
the ending to this game is best listened on a good surround system so you can hear the deep under tones that most people miss when they hear this song. The only ending that compares to this ending is Twilight Princess
One of the best Zelda games i ever played. Beautiful in all the ways. I finish it in an emulator. I never owned a SNES. But i will treasure every moment of my game played. Thanks for the video. Brings me good memories.
I can never get tired of this game that's why I play this game a lot it brings back memories from my past. it's called "The Legend of Zelda a Link to the Past" for a reason. and every time I see this ending it gets to me also so you're not the only one I have nostalgia also.
I raise my glass to anyone else who lived through the epoch and still remembers how good it was to have played one of the greatest video games of all time when it was still being advertised in magazines and sold in shops. Those my friends, were the best days of our lives.
it was around 1992 or 1993....o borrowed this game from someone....and i did the 000 challenge in my snes. and then i saved money for a very long time(the curse of poverty is real), and bought the game......that's how good this game is.

I agree. Maybe cause it was part of our childhood but this was the sweet spot of Zelda games. The series was still defining itself and this game felt fresh and new. It also has the right amount of narrative. The new games give you too much detail. Mystery leaves it up to the player to fill in the gaps.
My favourite part of the ending is Link's uncle recovers. When I first saw that Link's uncle died, I got sad, because I knew the feeling of losing someone close.

The ingame cinematic revealing the happy resolution to all the different characters was a real treat. But... it's that paralax horizon during the rolling credits that gives me some serious goosebumps. The still sweatty controller resting in my lap as I put my arms behind my head and let my mind wander, contemplating the wonderous journey. It was magic. Still is.
Watching these endings and hearing these songs on UA-cam has really changed my perception of a lot of these games. I just about never get emotional while playing a game or beating a game if the ending is sad. My mind is not in a place where it can truly appreciate depth of emotion when I am playing. I'm ready for the next battle or satisfied at the victory. An emotional cutscene that may undermine that feeling gets sort of shoved aside by my subconscious. But you come here and watch and listen to these. There's no greater context within the game you were just playing. You're not trying to avoid looking lame in front of your buddy or your dad. It's just you and that ending and that track in a vaccuum by itself, and the way it makes you feel. Then you scroll down and look at all these comments and you see how much it moved other people. And then that stirs something up inside you too. Finding these moments on UA-cam has given me a newfound appreciation for a lot of moments, tracks, cutscenes and endings that I never took the time to really appreciate when I was just playing through them.
I first played this game when I was 5 and got my very own when I was 7 and beat it all by myself. I did want to cry when I beat it because it was the first real game I actually beat without somebody's help. The best Zelda game of all time.
I'm unsure about the lives count I'm still trying to figure that out but this is one of my favorite video Game endings of all time from the music to the scrolling scenery as the sky gets lighter during the staff roll it's very touching.
It counts not only deaths (including auto revives via bottle fairy), but also saves. I discovered this after my second playthrough. The only way to finish with 0 games is to leave the game on continuously (pausing with the item select screen is okay) and never ever dying.
@@tomkerruish2982 It doesn't count revives via fairy. Just actual deaths and Save and Quits. I just played through it again and can confirm... I died 3 times (once because I let my 2 year old play, lol. And then two more times immediately afterwards because I stopped being careful), and quit for the night twice. My game count at the end was 5. (I had a LOT of auto revives via fairy. So those definitely were not included.) The best I've ever done was 3... no deaths and Save and Quit 3 times. (That was back when I had a 2 hour TV limit. So like... 30 years ago, lol.) I still have that save file. Still going for that magic "1." But I hate leaving the SNES on all night. Especially since both console and game are 30+ years old now. And the cartridge battery is somehow still holding a charge.
I was a little thing just learning to spell words when I played and beat this game with my mom, calling to confer with my aunt whenever we hit a really tough spot...almost two decades later, I'm still in love with video games. You just never forget your first. A true classic.
I still get goosebumps when 5:50 starts...that amazing theme with a backdrop of the dark world turning to light...this game is an absolute masterpiece.
Holy hell, last time i saw this was 15 years ago, i remember trying to hide my tears from my brothers while experiencing this. This was an emotional ending for a 11 year old boy in the early 90´s, kids. i love this score, Koji Kondo is a fuckin genious, this is the greatest fuckin game ever made!!!
I have been depressed due to 2020's events like the lockdown due to covid-19, etc and watching this ending has made it worse, to the point of uncontrollably crying.
I think this was the first video game ending that made me realize games could aspire to art. A million RPGs followed with great endings, and then probably every AAA game these days has an emotional credit roll at least... but this was a shock to me in its day. I didn’t know a “game” was supposed to tug at my heartstrings until this.
As a kid when it got to the part where it said that your uncle recovered... I was overcome with joy. I was so happy to know that he didn't die as it looked like he did in the beginning. Brought a smile to my face once again seeing this.
He did die. You brought him back with the power of the Triforce, as you did the flute boy, the loyal sage, and the king of Hyrule. I think people tend to forget how many people die in this game.
Also, people tend to forget this is the most powerful Link. He returned the most powerful iteration of the master sword, commanded the full united power of the triforce, set things right, and walked away from it all to return to a humble life.
Saw someone say they wanted the Mario world credits song to be played at their funeral. I want the sunrise credits to be played at mine lol. 31 years later. I’m still playing this game once a year.
Ice palace was difficult indeed, just a horrible maze I had to explore several times. Turtle Rock is a matter of staying alive rather than being difficult to find the way to the boss. One thing that will definitely help for Turtle Rock if you die sometimes is taking the exit past the beaming eyes on the wall. If you die, you will have the option to restart on the last place you entered the castle. Advice: get four blue potions and all heart pieces in the game before entering Turtle Rock.
The music at the end gives me chills. Koji Kondo did an AMAZING job with the music at the end of the game when they show hyrule after gannon was defeated
This brings back so many childhood memories. Me and my brother used to play the heck out of this game on SNES. They don't make good games with quality storytelling like this anymore.
I always see Ocarina of Time ranked as the best Zelda game (and sometimes as the best game ever). But this game... a perfect blend of storytelling, action, puzzle-solving, characters, and music. This may be my favorite video game of all time. This ending is perfect. All the work you put in is rewarded.
So simple yet so beautiful. A Link to the past and Final Fantasy 3 (vi) on the Super Nintendo truly impacted me as a teenager and today, now going on 50 I’ve still not played any other games that had the emotional impact.
The cutscene "YOUR UNCLE RECOVERS" then both Link and his uncle raise their swords gives me goosebumps every time.
Yeah the cutscene uses timeline to animate everything and time it into the scene. This could be remade in unity
Nostalgia Critic brought me here for that.
How?

YES!!!
My tears and crying from the song itself turned to laughter when I saw your comment.
Well when anyone gets brought back from the dead thats the first thing there mind jumps to
XD
He’s also waiting for his ship to arrive in the the morning
I like how when it says "And the Master Sword sleeps...FOREVER!", the squirrels look like they're cheering.
Love the ending theme! Brings back memories! Don't make them like this anymore. :(
Play A Link Between Worlds! It's awesome!
It's not over yet.
It's definitely got the Lttp feel since it's a sequel, no complaints at all
Unmitigated Disaster Most of the 3D zelda games are lazy remakes of ALTTP.
I love how the ending credits song gently segues into the main theme song.
I still have my SNES and this game.
Me too
As do I!
Greatest video game ever.
Idk there all great I can’t choose one but honestly I think this is the best Zelda game ever
No question. The best end credits theme in all of video games. and always will be.
the ending to this game is best listened on a good surround system so you can hear the deep under tones that most people miss when they hear this song. The only ending that compares to this ending is Twilight Princess
Devlin Dreadwood yeah that and super mario 64, sorry but that music track is just beautiful
That is a good one. TheComicMaster1995
Darth Vator Hahahahaha, Cheers man :D
Ever seen better music than that in my life
Best Zelda game hands down my fav one
The Legend of Zelda: A Randy to the Past.
Am I the only one who always left Link's name...Link? :)
nah dude! i was thinking the same shit. i always put link. even now with the new ones. it jus flows a bit better with the txt.
if you do that on links awakening you get a funky version of the title music
+wildsmiley I think the "Link" in the title is a Link as in a connection
Puff the Magic Dragon I know, but the title A Link to the Past is also a pun (well, sorta).
wildsmiley I'm well aware, I just used to think that Link refered to the character nd assume most people have the same perception
You finish that game and you are SNES gamer for eternity. I finish that game each year . So deep when your are young and you pass 1-2 year on it to finish it. The first real deep video game experience!!! :P I finished Zelda 2 on NES before and finish Ocarina Of time after :P Just diamond games!!!!
I loved the ending! It really emphasizes how that because of me, the Dark World dissolved, Ganon was dead, and his army was in ruins
This was my first Zelda game and its still my favorite… best ending in gaming history
I agree. Maybe cause it was part of our childhood but this was the sweet spot of Zelda games. The series was still defining itself and this game felt fresh and new. It also has the right amount of narrative. The new games give you too much detail. Mystery leaves it up to the player to fill in the gaps.
Randus, I've been listening to this for over 10 years now
randus its time again
My favourite part of the ending is Link's uncle recovers. When I first saw that Link's uncle died, I got sad, because I knew the feeling of losing someone close.
He looks like Eiji Aunoma in the game pixel :D
And the Master Sword sleeps again... Forever!... Temporarily...
Now this is a satisfying ending! They don't make games like this any more!
"And the Master Sword sleeps again...Forever!"
Yeah, until something else happens! XD
Exactly xD
Not really. This is the bookend to the Master Sword's story arc. Begins with Skyward Sword, ends with ALttP.
@@RyuBakuraFTW nope since a link between worlds happens after link awakening, but still master sword in oot bad ending time line is still not used after a link between worlds
I believe this music is Hyrule's national anthem.
Best game on SNES.
Yoshis island and Mario world?
Super Metroid
the snes truly has a plethora of amazingly good games to choose from....
i hesitate to name any of them THE best one.....
@@mardene7895super mario world, hmmm... i think its arealy repetitive. But i play hack roms so i don't get tired of the game (its a very, very good game). I play on emulators (hi, Nintendo!)
Donkey Kong Country?
I love this game also I still have my SNES and the cartage I played this using an emulator because the video quality is higher.
I've beaten this game 20+ times by now. It's like an old movie you just want to watch again and again.
"But now you have totally destroyed Ganon. His dark world will vanish."
Chokes me up every time.
There will never be anything that's better than this.
This is the first game I ever beat. I still love it. Truly a masterpiece.
Brain, stop with the childhood memories, stop the life flashing through my eyes, stop making these tears! IM A MAN!! :'( why..? Look what you made me do... I'm crying...
Goddangit Nintendo. You know its a good game if it can make an adult cry
Still is.
After all those years, the Triforce is finally reunited.
7:43 so legendary Koji Kondo knew exactly where he wanted his name in the credits...
I can't watch this without crying my eyes out. So beautiful. Flute boy was the best bit. Happy ending to a tragic story.
Zelda forever.
Quite possibly the perfect game, capped off with an amazing ending.
So those definitely were not included.)
The best I've ever done was 3... no deaths and Save and Quit 3 times.
I love how the classic theme kinda sneaks in at the credits
He started off as an ordinary farmer boy. He ended up a hero.
I was a little thing just learning to spell words when I played and beat this game with my mom, calling to confer with my aunt whenever we hit a really tough spot...almost two decades later, I'm still in love with video games. You just never forget your first. A true classic.
One of my favorite parts is "The Flute Boy Plays Again".
"Touch the Triforce and the wishes of your heart comes true". What an epic ending!!!
This bring me so many memories :D this is my favorite legend of zelda of all times, and it was the first one i've ever played :) I love it!
I still get goosebumps when 5:50 starts...that amazing theme with a backdrop of the dark world turning to light...this game is an absolute masterpiece.
Holy hell, last time i saw this was 15 years ago, i remember trying to hide my tears from my brothers while experiencing this. This was an emotional ending for a 11 year old boy in the early 90´s, kids.
i love this score, Koji Kondo is a fuckin genious,
this is the greatest fuckin game ever made!!!
I have been depressed due to 2020's events like the lockdown due to covid-19, etc and watching this ending has made it worse, to the point of uncontrollably crying.
Same for me. I was 13 when I first beat this game and it still brings back warm memories every time I see videos like this.
the king makes a good boat i must say....
I think this was the first video game ending that made me realize games could aspire to art. A million RPGs followed with great endings, and then probably every AAA game these days has an emotional credit roll at least... but this was a shock to me in its day. I didn’t know a “game” was supposed to tug at my heartstrings until this.
Randy: NERD!! Peter Griffin: RAANNDYYY!
He returned the most powerful iteration of the master sword, commanded the full united power of the triforce, set things right, and walked away from it all to return to a humble life.
the first zelda I truly love at the age of 9
Saw someone say they wanted the Mario world credits song to be played at their funeral. I want the sunrise credits to be played at mine lol. 31 years later. I’m still playing this game once a year.
The Master Sword sleeps again forever? Is this the last time it's used? I gotta check that Zelda timeline again.
TheRepty818 nah, its a netaphor. a link between worlds occurs after this one in the decline timeline
Kevin Roll Link between worlds happens after this
Brings back such great memories. Now I play this with my son. My favorite game ever!
Being young when I played this, I never noticed the reference to LOTR
ricardo habla español, haz de tener puros greengos en google+
Ice palace was difficult indeed, just a horrible maze I had to explore several times. Turtle Rock is a matter of staying alive rather than being difficult to find the way to the boss. One thing that will definitely help for Turtle Rock if you die sometimes is taking the exit past the beaming eyes on the wall. If you die, you will have the option to restart on the last place you entered the castle.
Advice: get four blue potions and all heart pieces in the game before entering Turtle Rock.
15 people are related to Ganondorf probably... ;)
Or are just some of his surviving soldiers
Yeah
The music at the end gives me chills. Koji Kondo did an AMAZING job with the music at the end of the game when they show hyrule after gannon was defeated
AND THE MASTER SWORD SLEEPS AGAIN... until Breath of the Wild happens
*Link between worlds
Who says BotW is AFTER ALttP?
@@RyuBakuraFTW not literally after... jeez stop overthinking random Internet comments.
I'm here to hear the beautiful 3 parts of this lovely ending theme and imaging in myself playing this on piano.
I actually can play this in the piano. It took 3 months to learn. :P
5:50 🥲
This brings back so many childhood memories. Me and my brother used to play the heck out of this game on SNES. They don't make good games with quality storytelling like this anymore.
Yeah ikr
This is a really epic ending, not like others ... I'm looking you BotW
SMParanoid haha true!
This sequence and music moved me to tears when I was a 13 old boy and it does now that I am a 43 old man.
Isn't 4:59 from Final Fantasy? ._.
yes from ff12
No. A Link To The Past was first and a lot of FF too, so, I didn't mean FFXII, I meant FF saga.
yes, i meant the whole FF franchise too, i don't know why i wrote ff12
Oh you said 1 and 2, not 12, sorry. Anyway yeah, it's from the whole franchise not only these. But what I really asked: why? ._.
i don't know ,perhaps koji kondo inspired him or something..
For some reason: "the bully makes a friend" is one of the most satifying things I've ever seen in a game
Yeah that's why this is my favorite game of all time and the music is absolutely the best.
