Listening to them takes me back to a simpler time. They were just about having a good time and I think that is what is missing from a lot of current pop music. I wonder if the internet ever will reach maturity.
The bored finger snapping guy is Jools Holland. He's a famous English musician and TV presenter. His show Later With Jools Holland has featured a ton of great bands down the years.
"Yes they made a movie. Yes I own the DVD. Yes I'll be reviewing it". HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!! I always thought Spice World was good. Classic quirkiness.
Thanks for showing this movie some much needed love! It was never supposed to be "good" but it was always supposed to be fun, and I think it shows throughout the entire film. :)
I also like Spice girls even though I'm not into pop. And yes it doesn't mean we should like people like Bieber. Spice girls made really good quality music. Seriously listen to their first album, almost all the songs are top notch.
The skinnier “screenwriter” outshines them all by a mile. He was the main writer for Kids in the Hall. Here’s one of their most notorious skits, that aired live, and got them cancelled immediately. ua-cam.com/video/wgILxqN_jxE/v-deo.html
I remember the fantasy court clip originally had a line that said "Call in Gary Barlow", which was changed to "Call In Hootie and the Blowfish" for the American release, and was very strangely pronounced "Howtie and the Blowfish".
Stephen Fry just said yes to the role to get autographs from all girls for his nephews Christmas gifts. Nothing like rewatching old GoodBadFlicks on one of the hottest Sundays ever recorded in my country!
Did you ever review the movie "Frighteners" with Michael J. Fox? That movie got bad-mouthed when it came out, but it was one of my favorite movies at the time. I loved that movie.
i loved the trailer so i saw it in the theatres. with my mom of all people(i say that because she hated me watching R rated movies and hated horror movies) i loved it then, i love it now O;-)
This movie is really enjoyable. I'm a fan of the spice girls too. I liked boybands in the 90s. They were alot of fun. Backstreet boys, Nsync, etc. I just loved how they created a cheesy cliche. Open shirt and pointing at the camera with a freaky smile. It's exactly what Pablo Fransisco said "Here i am...alone again...THE WHOLE WORLD WANTS TO FUCK ME!!! But i'm all alone...broken wings...fly away...shattered heart...(droopy voice) boohoo booboo". LMAO. But seriously i love the upbeat stuff. And i'm also a heavy metal fan. Gwar and Slayer are my favs. I'm pretty much Bam Margera at heart. Cause i like the same stuff he does.
I like older Aguilera stuff, her newer stuff just doesn't have as much passion. Katy Perry is hit or miss. I like some of her tunes and dig her goofy attitude. However, there are some like Wide Awake that are nails on a chalkboard.
I've always had a thing for brunettes so I gravitated towards Tina. Never watched Big Brother. Hannah is awesome on Primeval. She dated Paul for a while but last I heard she was dating the one guy from Primeval.
I think people just went off on it because there was the whole backlash against the Spice Girls at the time. If it had come out a few months earlier it could have been huge
This movie is underrated, it has a lot more satire than people give it credit for and I love it for that reason. Also Baby Spice is the best spice don't @ me.
Thats a pretty good point. People are discovering music outside of their usual genres thanks to the internet. Unfortunately though, the music industry is still trying to force the worst music as much as possible. That's one of the reasons why I haven't listened to the radio in well over a decade. Pretty much all my music I get through either recommendations or I find it on Pandora.
A bacon buttie is essentially a bacon sandwich. They're very popular in England, often served with ketchup or brown sauce. Had them all the time back in the day.
I am JUST watching your video in 2018 and at the end of it I am so surprised that you love S Club 7!!! I love them!!! S Club and Spice Girls were very similar in many ways. The S Club series has exactly the same tone that Spice World did, they played exaggerated characters of themselves. I am glad to see you like them :)
OK good bad flicks.... I commented on a previous videos praising what you were talking about, but seriously could you stop being so awesome?!?! I too LOVE metal, been a fan of cannibal corpse since their obscure cameo in ace Ventura pet detective. But I freaking love the spice girls!!! I also caught so much crap for thinking Mel c was the best!!! No one agreed with me, I'm team sporty spice all the way!!!!! The fact that you are too, is just freaking awesome.... You sir just made a loyal subscriber of yours!!!
+GoodBadFlicks Sporty spice can definitely sing, for sure but i'm more like Scary,Posh and Ginger...Oh Yeeeaah! But this was more good(visually)Than Bad(some of the lame things) I just saw double dragon review you have a new sub my friend! Mainly because you respond/reply to people and don't act like a douche.Cool really cool!
+Demond Scott Sporty too...she is a looker! she sang the intro song in that movie"whatever it takes" James franco was in it,and Jody Lynn O'keefe(I think that's her last name)
+Demond Scott Thanks! I can guarantee I'm not a douche lol :) I try to respond when I can. I figure if people are nice enough to comment, its the least I could do ^^
They once put this on the ship's DVD player on a ship I worked on whilst we were at sea (there was a DVD player connected to TVs in all the accommodation mess rooms in lieu of actual TV). The film ended abruptly as a sailor who shall remain unnamed got into the room with the DV player, ejected the disk, and smashed it, with a hammer.
Spice World is great! It totally plays like a modern Hard Days Night or Help! It hasn't aged too badly either. That S Club 7 movie was pretty rough though. I'm excited to see what you have to say about it.
Thanks! Mel C is the best. Remember when everyone threw a fit over how hot Posh was? Look at her now, she didn't hold up nearly as well. Meanwhile, Mel C still looks great.
From one Metalhead to another I love the Spice Girls movies you hit the nail on the head it is a fun movie it's goofy is Goofy can be you're the man thank you
Yeah, this episode instantly became a favorite of mine. I'm a Metal fan myself, loving bands like Slipknot, Iced Earth, Pantera, and many others, but I listened to the Spice Girls as a kid. Pop was my preferred genre for years until I eventually grew out of it. Metal came into my life and took over. It's refreshing to know that another guy loved them, too, especially knowing he's a Metal fan. Haha. And Sporty was always my favorite. I liked her voice over all the others and she was, as you said, SOOO HOT.
The melon and crows line by Sir Roger Moore is a pun on a brilliant quote by Eric Cantona, a famous, slightly eccentric French football player and actor, when he was getting pissed off by inane reporters, before he walked out of a press conference - "When the seagulls follow the trawler, it is because they think sardines will be thrown into the sea. Thank you very much."
i was born in 1995 and i am 17 years old about to be a senior this next school year and i wish i could go back to the 90's where everyone was free to choose what music they wanted to listen to or make.
When the movie was released I was babysitting a kid and my task was to sit through this movie with the girl while the parents watch their movie next door. Years later in a media class in high school I was put in a group with 5 girls. They outranked me with their idea and we went with the idea of doing a Spice World spoof. We did quite a bit including making a huge cardboard bus that we would walk around the gym when we were travelling between scenes. It turned out hilarious, I wish I still had a copy of it.
I've never seen this film - at the time it came out I was one of those people who hated the Spice Girls on principle - but with the passage of time I've learned to love them. Must get round to seeing this some time. It looks brilliant!
you're the coolest. As a pop music fan (all thanks to the Spice Girls), it's great to hear someone who's not into the genre talk about stuff like this in a "ugh this suck because they make shit music". Thanks for the video.
Yes! I already was quite happy that I had subscribed to this channel but then you talk about thrash metal as I was listening to "kill em all" lol This is fantastic. This was my first concert ever :-P I was all about that ginger spice because she had the sexy voice haha
Wow, there was a time where you couldn't do anything and not hear about the Spice Girls. I think that is also a part of what led to their demise...overexposure.
I was a teenaged girl when this came out and I knew it was a long commercial then. And I enjoyed their music too. They could and should have done better.
Thanks! I don't think people should be embarrassed about liking something. Hell, right now there is the whole "bronies" thing going on and yet they would turn their nose down at the Spice Girls? Ridiculous! Love S Club too. That reminds me, I am supposed to do their movie at some point... :)
The bored finger snapper leading the band is actually the great Jools Holland. Fantastic Pianist and big band leader. I still cant believe Meat Loaf played the Tour bus driver. Emma Bunton was always my favourite. Also I had to pause the video at "Behold, the power of tits!" I couldn't stop laughing
See i totally agree with you about everything. All the cameos, the jokes, i really loved this movie. And your review was dead on. However you did miss one cameo. At 3:01 you were talking about the finger snaipping guy. Cleary you don't know WHO that is. It is Jools Holland a very famous and respected host of live music tv programs. they were called "later with Jools Holland" and now my farvorite line from the Whole movie, said by Jools Holland "That was absolutly fantastic, without actually beeing any good" and btw Simon Fuller didn't have anything to do with American Idol that was Simon Cowel
Karsten Søndergaard thanks!yep, I've had quite a few people tell me about Jools Holland. While I am pretty up to date on stuff from the UK, I never heard of the guy. Did I say Fuller? Oops, my bad. :)
GoodBadFlicks See actually i did a Little research and you were right. Simon Fuller DID indeed start American Idol. My bad, i actually didn't know that. So i guess he's not so pissed at the Spice Girls for leaving him afterall. Now all we need i as proper Spice Girls reunion and all will be good :)
@@GoodBadFlicks you might have heard of squeeze? he was keyboard player for them. anyways, he presented a music show called "later, with". all different kinds of world music. did you ever do the s club 7 episode?
+megaplayboy007 Thanks! I'm an unabashed S Club fan and I want to make sure to do the movie well. There have been others I put on hold (Night of the Comet I sat on for over a year) but I think this is my most delayed.

Been binge watching GoodBadFlicks lately. Shoulda had you pegged as a fellow thrash maniac.
The bored finger snapping guy is Jools Holland. He's a famous English musician and TV presenter. His show Later With Jools Holland has featured a ton of great bands down the years.
He was also in The Squeeze - Cool for Cats, Up The Junction, etc
Plus, new years eve isn't right without Jools Holland's Hotenanny
Plus he was also missed in the long list of cameos mentioned
"Yes they made a movie. Yes I own the DVD. Yes I'll be reviewing it". HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!
I always thought Spice World was good. Classic quirkiness.
I love this movie
Thanks for showing this movie some much needed love! It was never supposed to be "good" but it was always supposed to be fun, and I think it shows throughout the entire film. :)
Sweet! More Spice World fans! This was just a time capsule, reminding everyone of how silly and fun the 90s were.
I also like Spice girls even though I'm not into pop. And yes it doesn't mean we should like people like Bieber. Spice girls made really good quality music. Seriously listen to their first album, almost all the songs are top notch.
I really don't get all the Bieber hate. Just don't listen to his music and you won't have a problem.
she is so very pretty and while most folks at the time were obsessing over Posh, I was all about her. She also had the best voice of the bunch.
The animated Heavy Metal movie is great. They spoofed it on South Park a few years ago. I like Blue Oyster Cult a well...Godzilla! Awesome riff.
Stephen Fry? Richard E. Grant? Alan Cummings? Bob Hoskins? How the hell did they accept this?
Three words: Money, Dear Boy.
Loy Turn No... They made them accept it with the threats of violent murders.
The Spice Girls were quite a popular part of British culture at the time.
The skinnier “screenwriter” outshines them all by a mile. He was the main writer for
Kids in the Hall.
Here’s one of their most notorious skits, that aired live, and got them cancelled immediately.
ua-cam.com/video/wgILxqN_jxE/v-deo.html
HOW DARE YOU...THIS IS CINEMATIC GOLD
Yeah, I had a few people tell me about that. Well, can't always get them all!
Thanks! No problem, lots more to come!
I remember the fantasy court clip originally had a line that said "Call in Gary Barlow", which was changed to "Call In Hootie and the Blowfish" for the American release, and was very strangely pronounced "Howtie and the Blowfish".
I was away this week so I didn't have time to make a new review. Will have one up this coming sunday.
I loved that movie.
i loved the trailer so i saw it in the theatres. with my mom of all people(i say that because she hated me watching R rated movies and hated horror movies)
i loved it then, i love it now O;-)
Same. SO glad I saw that instead of Independence Day.
If it was any other channel I would not have clicked on this movie lol but I knew u would make it fun
I think I could do this one much better now.
5 minutes in and I'm ready to jump out the second story window at my house
This movie is really enjoyable. I'm a fan of the spice girls too. I liked boybands in the 90s. They were alot of fun. Backstreet boys, Nsync, etc. I just loved how they created a cheesy cliche. I can't believe my mother and I used to love this movie. I haven't watched it in almost 25 years.

Hell yeah, Mel C's "I Turn To You" is STILL a great song
That whole album was great, Never be the Same Again with Lisa Left Eye Lopez is still a must listen
God, I remember when the Spice Girls first played on MTV. Hearing their music still puts a smile on my face and I still love this movie.
Mark McKinney from the Kids In The Hall is in this as well as Richard O’Brien and Meat Loaf from the Rocky Horror Picture Show. That I find cool.
Best review I've seen on youtube so far. Honest and fair. Great job!
Posh was so funny in this. Her monotone comic timing was fab.
A bacon buttie is essentially a bacon sandwich. They're very popular in England, often served with ketchup or brown sauce. Had them all the time back in the day.
Yep, I mentioned him as one of the cameos towards the end of the video
MY 2ND FAVOURITE FILM OF ALL TIME
Thanks :)
With the intro, I just wanted to make sure everyone knew where I was coming from. lol
I literally just got the "I won't do that" joke...lol!

I used to watch the show religiously. I had a big crush on Tina and Hannah.

If it makes you feel any better I used to watch the S Club 7 TV show.
i would knock one off to it after school most days
Thank you!
7:41 Made me spit out the water I was drinking.
Stay hydrated, kids!
heheh thanks :)
Yep, a few people informed me of both of those. I'm not as up on British stuff as I thought!
Thanks! :)
You make my boring times ..to a treat..Dude..:)

Always thought it was astonishing that the black woman was the 'scary' one
Hey man, I have pretty much the same taste in music as you do, but I also love Katy Perry and Christina Aguilera so it's all good!
Thanks!
yep, frikkin brilliant
fantastic video. been a subscriber for many many years and thought id watched every video until this one. how did i miss it.
You enjoy what you like and you don't give a damn. I love it! Another great review btw
Probably been said but at 3:03 'this guy' is Jools Holland a British musician, so might be lost on some nationalities.
Thank you x2! :)
Thanks! Mel C is the best. Remember when everyone threw a fit over how hot Posh was? Look at her now, she didn't hold up nearly as well. Meanwhile, Mel C still looks great.
Great review - appreciate your honesty, so funny. Keep up the great reviews!
Haha I was so not going to give a thumbs up for this... until the final cat meme. Sold!

Why did you have to mention S-Club 7?! Now I'm going to be thinking about Rachel Stevens until I get a cold shower :-(
I saw this movie in theaters as a kid. I loved all things Spice Girls. While cheesey. It still holds a special place in my heart.
I've been doing that to Jack Black but he keeps returning.
I found out about Jools after the fact, I had no idea!
hell yeah
I saw this movie in theaters and bought it on VHS as soon as it was available I was obsessed with this movie.
I cannot disagree with this review.I admit it!.... I was a fan and I'm not going to apologize!
Sporty Spice and Brian Adams....Drop the mic....

Its a gift lol :)

I grew up on the S club 7 tv show for a few months in elementary school
There ain't no party like an S club party
they distract even the best of us
I was a teenaged girl when this came out and I knew it was a long commercial then. And I enjoyed their music too. They could and should have done better.
At 11.11, she's actually saying "Bacon Butties." "Butty" is English slang for sandwich.
"What is spice my never spice." - Barrack H. Obama, 2008
(6:23) It's the moin, the meowth, the legiond, Meatloaf!
Love this movie. Seen this so many times. And I also love, love, love the Spice Girls. 🥰
Thanks! I don't think people should be embarrassed about liking something. Hell, right now there is the whole "bronies" thing going on and yet they would turn their nose down at the Spice Girls? Ridiculous! Love S Club too. That reminds me, I am supposed to do their movie at some point... :)

Where's the Sclub 7 review?
+megaplayboy007 I was working on it but it didn't feel right so I put it on hold. It will happen on day though!
+GoodBadFlicks I really love your reviews and I remember Sclub 7 very fondly, so it would be very neat. Thanks man.

I want the S Club 7 review! :D BTW have you seen the tv series with them as well?

eh, it happens. I'm just being honest lol
I know, I was just going to for the extremely absurd.
