That's beautiful....
Notice three functions of the spoiler panels. In the first part of the video they're partially extended as Speed brakes ( manual input for excessive speed bleed), on finals they're moving up with the ailerons for roll control as crew put in small corrections to maintain runway line, and finally on touchdown as ground spoilers to 'spoil' the wing's lift and settle the aircraft firmly on the ground, shifting the load fully on the wheels, they also create aerodynamic drag as secondary deceleration devices to contribute in deceleration assisting thrust reversers and brakes - the primary decelerators.
The Slinger in action up close and personal ,❤️love it.👍
It's the lifting of the flaps upon landing that make the A380 so special. From a front-on view, the plane transforms itself into, what I call, a Klingon Bird of Prey. It's breathtaking.
The sound of the flaps never get old on the 380
That wing man.... Omg.... I can watch this over and over and over. Just mesmerizing
That wing sag was absolutely amazing 😮
🎉what a eventless landing...the best right! Welcome back to London!❤
I’m normally eyes closed and a nervous wreck at this point, so it’s nice to watch it from the comfort of my bed! It’s like the matrix above the clouds 🌞 🩵
Jerry, thank you for Australia and this video. The beautiful warm glow about the clouds as amazing. Man that wing sag . You and Gill please keep up the great work
Jerry, only you bring us the how things work, and I love it. That was freakin' amazing. The sound of those flaps was cool. Thanks!
It's the noises on planes that make me nervous. If I had a video like this in front of me (or you sitting beside me 😂) saying Flaps 1, Flaps 2 etc then I'd know this is what is supposed to be happening and I wouldn't worry so much!
When I was in my 20s and 30s flying didn't phase me AT ALL. For some reason as I get older I now hear every sound and think "should that be happening?". It's a curse! I blame movies and all the noises they use when a plane is crashing!!
About 20 years ago I flew on an old Ryanair 737. It was so well insulated that you couldn't hear a single sound from outside. No flap noise, nothing. I wish all planes were like that 😂😂😂
Same here. I loved being able to watch and appreciate the technology without actually being on board!
Smooth as silk …….👍
US: amazed by this machinery.
BIRD: meh I do all this every second without thinking about it
Surfaces fluttering like a Pianists fingers, great shot, and the wing relaxing, Wow!
Wow the sag of the wings was amazing!
Beautiful bit of engineering 🏴
Awesome Jerry. Lift, gravity, thrust and drag all in sync! Fantastic footage. Enjoyed your Australian coverage and commentary. 😊
Wow!!! That's really cool to see all the mini movements of the little control surfaces - like the trailing edge of a bird's wing - and the flaps and the wing drop from inside the plane!!! I watched it three times!! Thanks!!!!
Cracking video, enjoyed that. I was tracking some of this flight from Singapore. The A380 had flown from New Zealand first to Singapore then onto London, what an amazing distance they cover.
This is what makes me excited for FBW A380 in MSFS!
Love this in Cincinnati!!✈️
That wing sag was incredible! Greased the landing!
Totally amazed at the physics involved in getting something so big off the ground..
That’s why my favourite part of flying is Landing! Love love love A380’s. What a great video…will watch this a few times again I’m sure until I board my SQ flight to London next June. A very happy Aussie here. Thanks Jerry.
Wow, amazing ! What a smooth landing, shoutout to captain
Oh My Goodness....WOW, simply bloody WOW. What an amazing video Jerry and then seeing that wing droop...WOW again. Every second of it is a real treat. Thank you Jerry and Gilly 😍😍
Awesome! Love seeing the A380 control surfaces in action!
Aaaah man I need to fly the A380
Brilliant footage, thank you.
Thanks, Jerry and Gilly. That is awesome to watch. That wing really dropped.
nice one thanks Jerry
Awesome clip, perfect spot to catch all the action👍
I swear Jerry i sensed my ears popping ss the plane descended in the video what matvellous footage and yoye ehole channel is first class all the way and back again
Nice. I flew with the very first airborne A 380 on my journey to Australia on my way back from Singapore to Zürich on SQ 346 with 9V-SKA.
My very first experience on A380 was SQ too. Great plane & airline. We went to LHR & then New York to Frankfurt to Singapore. All on A380. Great memories.
Great video, i always find landing a fascinating watch for those very reasons
Wow love how sun goes on wing looks so peaceful up above clouds calm great clip totally awesome Jerry ✈️😃🥰👏👏
That was amazing to watch, beautiful landing.❤
Amazing. So quiet.
Absolutely loved seeing the wing flaps in action. The close up of the wing was spectacular. Thank You for sharing it with us.✈️✈️❤️
Simply amazing how the wings can flex and sag without breaking
Full flaps Friday 😄 This video made me tear up! ✈️ Happy Easter
Beautiful beautiful catch 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Great footage mate! ✈️✈️✈️
Superb , definitely prefer the weather above the clouds 😂
My son is fully licensed to work on the A380. The engineers call the flaps on the aircraft the piano keys due to their movements.
I feel like I am onboard, great😎
Cool. I remember years ago been in Luxembourg airport and watching a Cargolux takeoff. I was with a pilot and he told me, watch for the wing tips lifting when they start creating lift, it was very cool to see. But this is the first time I really seen the opposite, wings losing lift, interesting video.
Wow ,great footage Jerry
Amazing stuff
I'm going on my first ever flight in the Summer. I'm both terrified and excited!
Impressive A380. Great wing work. Love Airbus
Thats looks awesome... took My son to Brooklands Museum the he suggested we go to find you at Myrtle ave today we love BJ TV xxx
great shot in showing that wing doing what it was designed to do, and efficiently too. The motors whirring away making that wing change beautifully flaps 1 -4. Was clever engineering then still is. and the weight lit off well. Now to finally see that which i missed 5 times. you learn something every day
Glad you got back safely Jerry great vid thinks 💎🙏
Hi just subscribed to your channel love all aviation excellent content much respect for sharing your amazing videos love from Dublin
Amazing
This is fantastic !!!! So envious of your trips.
Fantastic 😊
Beautiful!
Awesome footage
good capture of wing sag on landing, demonstrates well what you have been telling up.
This is brilliant Jerry, I was hoping you would share this, the 380 is the most awesome plane I've ever flown on, also to Australia and back, thank you 😊
I never appreciated the sheer enormity of those wings 👌🏾
Very cool👍
wow the deflection how cool,,, Nice Video
WOW, magic!
Great footage of your approach into LHR plus you stacked over were we live in Brentwood Essex.
So cool
Brilliant ❤
Nice Vid Jerry 👌
Marvellous!!🤘🏻😎
That was awesome, Jerry!
Wow even watching this you can almost feel the lift and falling.
Awesome, those ailerons dancing like piano keys
We did the Auckland to Singapore on the their A380 end of Jan great flight, we changed at Singapore onto a B777 to Frankfurt , The A380 was a great flight quiet and plenty of room, in comparison the B777 was very dated felt old. We ended our journey flying back to Lisbon on a Lufhansa A320 . Best sector of the journey was the SQ A380.
Wow!!!!xxx
Majestic
That was awesome.
There's usually a chap standing on a van in a muddy field filming these A380's landing in gale force winds! Pity he missed this one, he probably had a lay in as it was only a lttle cloudy!
Brilliant. When you've got a plane that big those wings are going to sag. Must have been difficult in the making of these enormous wings .
Always great to see the A380 in action like this. I'm guessing this might be a Gilly question in light of the more technical aspects of it from a videography perspective but seeing as you're able to screen grab the flight replay from FR24 then I wonder if there's a way to show the flightpath in tandem with the flight video you captured showing your journey into the runway? It would be very cool to see the wing action in relation to a map of the flight over London.
Good to see you both back safely and hope your body clocks are returning to normal now.
Brilliant
Great stuff 😊
Anyone notice the ice forming on the wing?
That sound 🎶🎶
Even though I used to have a PPL, I'm still amazed that giant heavy airliners can actually FLY! It would still be impressive if they just went along the ground really fast. lol
First, and cool A380 flight
Oof- sadly I couldn't track your flight as I was busy... Hope you enjoyed the flight! Keep up the great work :D
Noyce mate
Smooooooooth!
So interesting, even for non plane-buffs! 🙂
nice capture
Nice video !
Those spoilers do their job well. @3:45
Steady as she goes.
That was a smooth one , possibly automatic?
Amazing Flexibility
That was cool
THAT IS SO COOL TO SEE THAT GOOD JOB BIG JET TV GOOD JOB
Smoothe landing
