Additional stuff about burrow+drill dash combo: - when dashing while burrowed the cool down is shortened by half - drill dash normally moves you 10m, but 15 while burrowed - you can turn while burrow dashing
Drill dash also lets you travel 15 meters if used in the air, so if you jump then drill dash you get the 15m, good to keep in mind for bigger gaps Edit: holding jump AFTER activating drill dash actually lets you go up to 20m!

@@SilverHawk0987 this boost applies anywhere during the burrowed dash meaning you can go almost the full distance with dash and boost out a ledge at the last second to get an extra 10 meters or so. its fairly dependant on map geometry but is super helpful getting out of some control dropship spawns fast
If you drill dash on a ledge and expose yourself going towards an enemy you will damage an enemy with the normal Dash damage instead of just the 5, if you time it right you can deal enough damage with drill dash and land back in the ground to charge up fully to finish the kill

Something I noticed: Using Burrow instantly reloads the Smart Excavator, so Burrow can be used right as Venture runs out of ammo to continue a combo or to pull out from the enemy team after doing damage (Much like how Doomfist is played)
Melee can almost instantly animation-cancel your primary fire, making for great burst damage. That animation cancel combos with either ability to one-shot squishies
Yeah it's crazy how close you can overlap them once you get the timing. I've got melee bound to right click and I assume that helps (and dash bound to "e".)
There isn't a delay between quick melee and using abilities, so you can deal 300 damage really fast with: Shoot + Melee + Dash + Shoot It requires you to be in melee range though.

If you burrow while standing on the ground, there's a brief animation where you have to break the surface. If you burrow mid air (at least a few meters off the ground) you dive straight into the ground

I testes a few already today: When burrowed before Mauga cages she can get out, but she cant use it when shes is trapped already. Her burrow cleanses all negative effects and damage over time like poison, burn and antihealing etc. She cant be healed by any healer burrowed but zenyatta, however she isnt affected by his ult when burrowed. When revealed by hanzo or widow when burrowed, her pile of rocks become highlighted, not her character model. And finally cassidy cant lock on her with hisbult when she is burrowed, however it doesnt reset the amount he has locked begore you burrow

Not really a myth cause I personally already tried it out, but fun interaction: if Venture is burrowed on top of a LW platform and the platform is activated by another hero, they also go up with it (and stay burrowed).
you can't life grip them in the ground, but they can burrow into a floating life petal which is pretty silly. Also i assume you can life grip them before then go under ground which might lead to some trolling

When you dash underground on certain diagonals, it boosts the dash very far. On the new queen street last point, if you dash underground up the hill you can almost reach the spawn with one use of dash. I have a clip of myself doing it on accident.
Burrow reloads your gun. Dashing at the end of the burrow timer gives you a longer burrow time. If you hit the keys almost at the exact time (primary first) you can animation cancel into melee fast enough it's basically a single attack.
Another fun gameplay mechanic I'd like to add on, Venture is one of few heroes that can melee cancel into their abilities as well. Try dashing/ burrow after any point during the melee animation and it immediately cancels the quick melee. Characters like Tracer can do this as well with recall and blink, while characters like Genji can't.
They'll both just take damage. After all, drill dash doesn't have any knockdown properties, only the knockback, which is ignored when both are locked in the drill dash animation.
Small detail, but I really like how much effort was put into making the burrow moving animation so seamless. I don't really know how to explain it, but in other games with characters that move underground, it just kind of seems like a basic "moving debris" animation, whereas venture's actually reacts to the direction that they move. It's pretty cool.
Venture is not invulnerable to enemy venture ult but it is to shatter I think it’s because venture ult knocks up. Also if burrow ends while u r in mid air it animation cancels the charging jump which is good if u want to shoot immediately.
You can still use abilities while ulting, allowing you to reposition before your ult timer runs out you can also use both your dig and dash at the same time which will drill dash underground as soon as you go under, giving it the cooldown reduction and allowing you to have your drill dash almost as soon as you finish burrow
Props to KarQ and the editors for putting the switch button layouts on the screen! don't want to leave them out of the party! Even though I don't know how many people actually play on switch 😭
If and when you do a mythbusters on all the interactions with Venture and their abilities- It seems like Clobber / Quick melee has some kind of CC'ing effect to it. In particular I tend to 1 trick doomfist, and im fairly certain ive had rocket punch get stopped dead in its tracks when hit by clobber. To be specific it feels like each tick of clobber has almost like a "micro snare", so youll use rocket punch- and then stutter forward between each little tick from the melee, drastically reducing the distance rocket punch moves.

Not sure if others mentioned it... The left click charge when exiting burrow, it feels like releasing left click at 3 bars is faster and does same damage as just holding left click the whole time. Like about a sec faster (by mentally counting the time upon left click to damage)
A cool "tech" is that if you use Drill Dash immediately at the start of Burrow, and then charge it for full damage at the last second of Burrow, Drill Dash will be off CD and avaliable to use again as you jump up. Great if you need to escape for example.
You can also extend the time you're burrowed by using the Drill dash right at the end. This can fool the enemies thinking they got you cornered and can be clutch at stalls.
They look super fun to play, but their damage output seems pretty high, especially that ult. Maybe their hitbox + needing to be mid to close range will compensate for that

I already had an interesting interection while playing Venture. If you burrow while in the air, there will be a diving animation until you hit the ground, however, you keep locked in that animation, and cannot do anything until hit the floor, so I used it, then the enemy Roadhog ulted and kept me on the air, and I just stayed there not being able to do a thing, just waiting mt death, it was fun
Something weird I found with Tectonic Shock: When you press the primary fire while in the air, it will pull you down faster, even when jumping+left click

How does burrow react to Cas' hinder grenade? I played a game and someone said they got hindered while underground, don't know if they were stuck before they burrowed or got hit while diving from high to low. Also, do you still take burn damage while burrowed?

It seems that Tree of Life does heal with the initial burst - Can you contest while burrowing? - Does the ultimate's knock up have movement lockout - Can you boop multiple times with drill dash while burrowing, same as Wrecking Ball's double boop tech?
There was a very big thing that wasn't coveted in this video, it's about Ventures overhealth. It's not normal overhealth that soaks up damage and is gone forever, or slowly runs out. You get shields instead. The shields run out eventually too, but taking damage doesn't get rid of them, it can be healed back up. So for the small window you get before it fades, you will have effectively 325 hp for that whole time that can all be healed. Sorry if it's a confusing explanation, it's hard to put into words. If you wanna try it out, head to the practice range, use an ability then take damage from a bot, then grab a health pack immediately after.
One more thing I forgot to add is that venture can ONLY contest a payload/point when underground. You can capture a point/push the payload whole underground, it'll count as someone on the objective but you can't capture any progress

If you go off a ledge while burrow dashing you get a huge boost that can cross gaps

M1 -> M2 -> M1 -> melee is an insane combo that can kill like 70% of the cast it's pretty nutty

Not really a myth cause I personally already tried it out, but fun interaction: if Venture is burrowed on top of a LW platform and the platform is activated by another hero, they also go up with it (and stay burrowed).

No, they are not targetable while they are burrowed and Mercy's beam breaks when they burrow.
you can't life grip them in the ground, but they can burrow into a floating life petal which is pretty silly. Also i assume you can life grip them before then go under ground which might lead to some trolling

When you dash underground on certain diagonals, it boosts the dash very far. On the new queen street last point, if you dash underground up the hill you can almost reach the spawn with one use of dash. I have a clip of myself doing it on accident.

Burrow reloads your gun. Dashing at the end of the burrow timer gives you a longer burrow time. If you hit the keys almost at the exact time (primary first) you can animation cancel into melee fast enough it's basically a single attack.
For me, this is the real spiritual successor to DPS Doomfist. I'm back, babyeee.

Another fun gameplay mechanic I'd like to add on, Venture is one of few heroes that can melee cancel into their abilities as well. Try dashing/ burrow after any point during the melee animation and it immediately cancels the quick melee. Characters like Tracer can do this as well with recall and blink, while characters like Genji can't.

What happens when 2 ventures use drill dash to each other?
They'll both just take damage. After all, drill dash doesn't have any knockdown properties, only the knockback, which is ignored when both are locked in the drill dash animation.
Small detail, but I really like how much effort was put into making the burrow moving animation so seamless. I don't really know how to explain it, but in other games with characters that move underground, it just kind of seems like a basic "moving debris" animation, whereas venture's actually reacts to the direction that they move. It's pretty cool.

Also, I think the devs messed up. Earthshatter should absolutely hit Venture when burrowing.
Venture is not invulnerable to enemy venture ult but it is to shatter I think it’s because venture ult knocks up. Also if burrow ends while u r in mid air it animation cancels the charging jump which is good if u want to shoot immediately.

You can still use abilities while ulting, allowing you to reposition before your ult timer runs out
you can also use both your dig and dash at the same time which will drill dash underground as soon as you go under, giving it the cooldown reduction and allowing you to have your drill dash almost as soon as you finish burrow

If and when you do a mythbusters on all the interactions with Venture and their abilities-
It seems like Clobber / Quick melee has some kind of CC'ing effect to it. In particular I tend to 1 trick doomfist, and im fairly certain ive had rocket punch get stopped dead in its tracks when hit by clobber. To be specific it feels like each tick of clobber has almost like a "micro snare", so youll use rocket punch- and then stutter forward between each little tick from the melee, drastically reducing the distance rocket punch moves.

One thing to note: When you pop ult, you can burrow, and emerge to continue using ult, so I would assume you can also drill dash with ult activated.

The left click charge when exiting burrow, it feels like releasing left click at 3 bars is faster and does same damage as just holding left click the whole time. Like about a sec faster (by mentally counting the time upon left click to damage)
"Clobber" ?....That is *LITERALLY* what I said Doomfist should have had....
A cool "tech" is that if you use Drill Dash immediately at the start of Burrow, and then charge it for full damage at the last second of Burrow, Drill Dash will be off CD and avaliable to use again as you jump up. Great if you need to escape for example.
Now if only they decide on the gender of that character...

I found when using the ult mid air your fall speed is increased. Kinda like pressing down in smash at the apex of your jump
same here, since you need to be on the ground to use the ult attack. if you activate it midair it pulls you to the ground

I already had an interesting interection while playing Venture.
If you burrow while in the air, there will be a diving animation until you hit the ground, however, you keep locked in that animation, and cannot do anything until hit the floor, so I used it, then the enemy Roadhog ulted and kept me on the air, and I just stayed there not being able to do a thing, just waiting mt death, it was fun
I really enjoy playing her so far. Her kits pretty dope! she reminds me of OW1 doomfist

How does burrow react to Cas' hinder grenade? I played a game and someone said they got hindered while underground, don't know if they were stuck before they burrowed or got hit while diving from high to low. Also, do you still take burn damage while burrowed?

- Can you extend your burrow duration by using drill dash just as it ends
- Burrow cleanses Ana anti-nade, how much does it cleanse? Can it cleanse Illari ult?
- Can you still be healed while burrowed? It seems that Tree of Life does heal with the initial burst
- Can you contest while burrowing?
- Does the ultimate's knock up have movement lockout
- Can you boop multiple times with drill dash while burrowing, same as Wrecking Ball's double boop tech?
No offense but Overwatch would have been a flop in 2016 if the roster looked like the likes of Venture, Lifeweaver and Sojourn.

There was a very big thing that wasn't coveted in this video, it's about Ventures overhealth. It's not normal overhealth that soaks up damage and is gone forever, or slowly runs out. You get shields instead. The shields run out eventually too, but taking damage doesn't get rid of them, it can be healed back up. So for the small window you get before it fades, you will have effectively 325 hp for that whole time that can all be healed. Sorry if it's a confusing explanation, it's hard to put into words. If you wanna try it out, head to the practice range, use an ability then take damage from a bot, then grab a health pack immediately after.
One more thing I forgot to add is that venture can ONLY contest a payload/point when underground. You can capture a point/push the payload whole underground, it'll count as someone on the objective but you can't capture any progress
