Considering that attacks don´t go through the tree I would imagine that you can´t summon the tree and then place a platform underneath it because it would bounce of and be placed beside it.

Good idea for the person being grabbed as well as lifeweaver himself. I would feel really bad grabbing someone who I think is far out of place just to figure out they were going for some odd play.
I think they need to add the functionality to "squelch" a teammate's ability to use the pull if they're trolling. Or add a timer and let the pulled teammates decide when to pull, using interact.
I think unless the teammate denies it within like a second, it should go through. It's a drastic measures needed to save the target or to pull help back to weaver kinda ability, but a cancel would be nice, I don't think it's a good idea to make the gripped player the one in charge of being pulled because the situations where they can be saved are really high intensity situations, Weaver being able to make that call is better because the gripped player likely doesn't have as much information on whether the fight is something they should dip from or if going to weaver is gonna save weaver or not. It helps team mates but it also helps him to get support if a flanker dives him
His new passive seems to only benefit the enemy, sure having a medkit drop is nice, but I don't personally think it makes up for the fact a dive can just heal and skiddadlw away.
@Cousin Patsey I guess, but I don't really know why to do with him in this toolkit. I'm not saying he's bad, it looks really fun, but my scenarios that come to mind with his powers aren't very synergistic, and if I was the other members I probably would prefer another utility like Lucio or something. I also just think he is a little clunky with all the stuff he has.
@93Chowo-Entertainment I guess yeah, but I am always scared of health pick ups that the enemy can use can lead to a shenanigans happening. I guess Genji wouldn't be a problem considering blizzard loves nerfing him.
@@smollmoth6376 his abilities are less direct synergies, like Nanoblade, and more creative gameplay situations. The flower going up can get your tank into the widow tower, or it can lift your widow up for a pick on their backline, or it can get your entire team past the first chokepoint on King's row. The pull can save someone that got hooks, save a tank that was anti'd, or save someone that's getting blown up by doomfist. The tree seems fairly underwhelming, but it is something the other team has to acknowledge in a team fight. I think the character isn't very strong in raw power. But he has a ton of creative uses for his utility, which is better for gameplay in my experience.
Yeah it can be trolled w/ but I see huge potential to allow a team mate to go deep in for kills then pull them back to safety when they are done or vulnerable to death.

I really hope they give the option to make his damage a right click, the elevator a shift, and the mobility a spacebar double click (exactly like Hanzo lunge)
I agree that it would work better as you wouldn´t need to first toggle the healing and damage which would put your healing on a delay as you have to charge it.
@@daynejepsen629 Can't remap something which requires you to First swap weapons. Overall the auto reload when holstered makes sense so ideally you do some damage for like 2 seconds then swap to healing for 2 seconds then damage for 2 seconds. Instead of doing 1 or the other and reloading since the Reload is the same time as the Holstered auto reload. So ideally you don't reload you just swap weapons.
The problem is you can only bind weapon swap and not the action of firing your secondary weapon. If they made that an option, then I'd be happy with that.

I see Life grip being problematic. Sure they'll be times when you can save someone from being overextended, but if its like a Winston low on health and theyre about to use their ult, but then Lifeweaver uses Life Grip and pulls the Winston away right before they pop their ult.Not only is Life Grip wasted at that point, but now the Winston has to waste time and jumps to get back into the fight. Or like a rein already having someone pinned trying to slam into a wall, but Lifeweaver pulls them back and the charge runs out before they hit a wall. Or a JQ using commanding shout to stay in the fight, but Lifeweaver pulls them back and now Life Grip and commanding shout are both wasted and on cooldown.
That's going to be the difference between a lower level player and a higher level player. The higher level players are constantly aware of their teammates abilities on cool down or not, and even enemies abilities on cool down. The Lifeweaver is just gonna have to be keeping an eye on their teammates abilities to make sure that doesn't happen.
I need to know whether pulling back a rein who has someone pinned will pull that person too or not. With sym you could charge someone into a tp and pin them against a wall on the other side. If he stays in charge then you basically have a rein yo-yo
@@AaelmfaoBDplays Yeah it's REALLY good for risk free picks but it's also awful for aggressive rein's with a support that can't handle the stress of holding on till the last moment.
Exactly what I was thinking. If anything they could give the player he’s trying to grip a notice to where they have to hit some sort of interact key to get taken to him ?
I’m worried about the heal output. I feel like when you heal someone, it should have a slight splash effect and heal closer team members as well. Just since you have to keep charging shots, it seems slow to get a ton out
should be fine if your secondary support can help you pick up slack and that's also where balancing heals comes into play. i think his healing output is going to be just fine :)
@@hyunjaycho9004 yeah, he is more utility like lucio or kiriko. They all do stuff thats not just healing, but still have powerful ults that can heal or do more utility stuff
@@hyunjaycho9004 I don't think Mercy would pair as well with him. Mercy is not a high healing output support, and wants to be damage boosting as much as possible. Additionally, Mercy doesn't need petal platform's help. She won't benefit as much from Life Grip either, especially since they say they will reduce GA cooldown in S4. I think Ana will love Petal Platform though.
I don’t think they should make it so that teammates have to press the interact key to accept being pulled and hear me out. Let’s say that they have to push the interact key to accept, so how long should the option to press interact appear on their screen? Understandably it can’t be too short, so that means the option lingers on their screen for a bit, MEANING that the teammate can freely choose when to get back to safety. This is basically giving a jett dash to your teammate to utilise, which is better than lifeweaver doing it for you, as the teammate being pulled would best know when he would want to back out. Next, is the question of what happens if the teammate doesn’t press interact, does the ability get put on cooldown? Or does it just not get used up? If it doesn’t get used up, theoretically you could just keep refreshing the life grip ability on your teammate, so that he would always have an escape route for himself to choose for exactly when to utilise. This is OP if you think about it, once again, its similar to the power and implementation of jett dash, where jett can choose freely when to dash when she sees the dash meter appear on her screen, in this case lifeweaver is the one who gives the option to dash first, while the teammate choose when to actually dash. Giving agency to the teammate being pulled increases the value of this ability way too much compared to lifeweaver having to decide when to pull himself. Think of how strongly it can be utilised for aggresive positioning. The only setback is that you’re unlikely to make reactionary pulls to save a teammate from an example: a sudden pulse bomb as your teammate is unlikely to react fast enough. But the tradeoff is minimal to the power the alternate implementation of life grip would have.
Ahh he looks so fun, I love how revolutionary both the platform and the dropped healing flower are! They remind me of OG Torb’s armor packs (RIP) Cant wait to hear about his lore
Life Grip is a 20 seconds CD ability, it's not like you can do it just for the fun all the time. Of course some people will misuse it at the beginning of the new season, but once they're bored with it couple of weeks later or even sooner, people will actually use it to save teammates and will hold on to it. I see y'all talking like this game is Fall Guys and no one is trying to win matches. OW Team already confirmed that they patched his ability to grab a person out of the map. Speaking for myself, I'm not spending my 20 seconds CD ability to pull a thrower Genji or Rein back to his place while I can save someone who's actually making an impact and will be glad that I'm saving them. Can people make mistakes? Of course, still to this date the dumbasses wake a slept Bob on a regular basis. But it is what it is. If you're playing unranked, things are already a mess; if you're playing competitive, people there are trying to climb and I assume the majority is going to use all of his kit for good. For the biggest problem is his shitty healing, it is so bad I have no words to repudiate.
I love the "Never before seen" abilities. So basically the primary fire is a crappy version of kiriko's healing, secondary fire is sorta like a multi shot version of sojourn's gun, the dash is like hanzo's jump mixed with the beginning of echo's movement ability, the platform is just a shittier version of mei's wall, the grab is just hook but for teammates, and the passive is just old reaper. Did I forget anything about these "New" abilities.
what is his max HPS??? i know you said 65 fully charged but how fast will we be able to heal a tank? is it going to be similar to a zen orb? seems low with charge time :((
It will be a lot faster than zens orb (look like Lifeweaver can charge it in around 1 second) and that's burst healing so even better but his ultimate only gives 50 HPS compared to zens 300 HPS even with Lifeweaver's initial 150 HP and 2 second longer time its 550 max total HP for Lifeweaver (this can be much shorter because the Tree is destroyable) vs Zen's max total HP of 1800 not to mention zen is invulnerable and can move around
@@Dragoon710 it doesn't actually look like it will be that much faster. plus, zen can put an orb on a teamamte and go do something else. Lifeweaver needs to actively heal, aim, etc and can't do anything else plus it can be blocked off. I think in a game where the enemy tank is a shield tank or your dps are fast moving flankers like tracer or genji, their healing output is going to be comparable even without the ult.
You’re my go-to for mythbuster vids so I’m curious If a Roadhog hooks a target AND is pulled by LW grip, would the target follow hog that distance traveled or would hook drop? This is so cool. People think Grip is going to be a massive troll but honestly it's one of those things we'll have to see in-game before we can judge it. It's only 30 metres so I don't think it will be used to save ("save") over-extending teammates. Instead, I think it will be mostly just used to protect low-HP teammates for a short time
Not to diss this hero but I really want a badass support. Tired of getting these super kind, very sweet, and good-willed healers. I want some megatron death machine to heal as, or maybe something wild like an undead pirate. Just someone cool thematically. No fair that all the other categories get the badasses, right?
His PP is very cool - with how far it reaches when it rises, and with its HP bar so thick, it could be tough to handle for enemies when taking it on from below. I wonder what it would be like to use his PP to hit enemies from behind 🤔. It was also cool to see it penetrate through Dva, Sigma and Genji. But honestly, I'm more interested in seeing what those Life Grippers can do.
Thought for the tether and the ult. The tether should not be able to move your teammates position because that has the chance to mess them up. It should just zarya bubble your teammate on a 12-second cooldown. The tree hitbox should not be the entire tree. The orb in the center should be the hitbox for the tree so that if it manages to clip through a wall, a bastion cant just get rid of it from safety.
When Baptiste Lamp was added, we all complained that it was too strong. As a response to that, Blizzard released Kirko who can use "Suzu" to cleanse and make her allies immortal. As a response to the complaints, Blizzard added a third support with an invincibility ability, called Lifeweaver. They never fucking learn. One ability should do one thing, not two at the same time. Suzu should just cleanse, and pull should just pull. Immortality on top of it is overkill.
Asking the real questions over here. It seems to work like a mix of suzu and zarya bubble considering neither of them can get you out of grav I would assume Lifeweaver either can't but I'm hoping he can
@@charKT-7461 immortality is 25 and it annoys players. This is improved bc it cleanses effects and pulls them out of danger and makes them immortal. At least this support doesn't 1 shot.
@@emiyaann4688 @emiyaann yeah but most immortalities are used on 1 player anyways or at least the ones that are most complained about. Its better in more common situations whereas immortality is better against very strong ults. Regardless we can both agree that adding more immortality is not smart if you want to make the game fun. It leads to players running double sniper. Bc immortality people use 1 shots, stuff you can't see a player get low and immortal them. They just die now. People have been complaining about 1 shots so this just makes them more powerful even though most people were gonna use them anyway.

@Babyboi3 it's not that much hp per tick and having the combo will be next to useless on modes where you need to stay moving like payload and push...the two most prominent game modes in the game
If a team has good communication, weaver and a flanker/diver would be a good pair. Flanker/diver bringing aggro to them or making kills meanwhile rest of team pushes and if anything goes south, pull them out.
He seems interesting although his "weapon" is so similar to Kiriko's: send a projectile of healing over a distance, and throw some projectile from your hand to kill enemies xD
I think a Mercy/Lifeweaver comp can work well. If you pull Mercy while being semi-close to her, she can have a safe rez. Though it does need a good timing. I also think its possible to perform a falling rez if the soul of a teammate gets elevated with the platform. ALSO Lifeweaver could be very useful if you as an Ana for example are coming out of spawn, since a lot of people like camping supports, Lifeweaver can save a support with no movement to escape. Im eager to toy around with him
tbh i see this hero ending up like oh symettra or torb in that many players will not appreciate them because their low stats especially healing, but will still have players that practice to maximize their potential
I see a lot of people saying his pull should be a tether that the pulled teammate needs to accept for the pull to activate but that would basically be a free tracer recall which would be so op.
I can imagine some cool plays with the petal platform and Dva. Aim the Dva ulti towards a fence, and lift it up with the platform for a surprise attack.
I’m less concerned about him being able to pull people off the map, and more the trolling of setting up a perfect earth shatter or death blossom and then being yoinked away.
I posted this on Archives, but I wanted to drop it here as well. Mythbusters: can Torb Turret activate the platform? Will an indoor platform stick you to the ceiling, or push you to the side of it? Is Tree of Life healing DOT or instant? Can you cancel your tree with another input of Ult button? (In case you block yourself with tree) Can you do a hit box breakdown for the tree? For example, doom, echo, Pharah, Mercy GA interactions. Can you place the tree underneath a teammate or enemy, and what happens to them if you do. Can you life grip pull someone through the tree?
I feel like he's going to be situational on launch and not all that powerful outside of some seriously gimmicky team comps (unless balance changes at the start of the season end up making heroes he works well with really busted, we simply won't know). However with simple number changes, he can go from weak and niche to a very decent hero. I don't see anything here that would make him busted, but I definitely see him being a standard pick with better numbers on his healing, more buffs to his ult, and some slight buffs to the dash (though really just something like 50 health instead of 25 would make it better in my opinion)
Here's a possible fix: they should have the healing automatically charge over time (same rate as manually charging it) to allow you to damage in between your healing bursts. The ultimate cost will be increased to compensate. It'll feel similar to playing as Moria. Any thoughts?
I love what they’re going for with the team mate succ ability of life gripper but I think it’s just gonna cause too many issues in lower ranks. I can see it now where friendly rein goes for shatter on half hp and just gets animation cancelled or misses because of it. We’ll see tho definitely clutch potential there
They should have a "confirm grip" option in my opinion, like how echo's or ana's "confirm duplicate/nanoboost" except it's for an ability and not a ult

It helps team mates but it also helps him to get support if a flanker dives him
@@user-ov2fc5sd1e Not really. You just replace a problem with an other, needless complexity and less reliability. Game design ain't that easy.

“Plus he’s hot”
Succinct and accurate. Can’t wait to play him.
His new passive seems to only benefit the enemy, sure having a medkit drop is nice, but I don't personally think it makes up for the fact a dive can just heal and skiddadlw away.
I think it can still benefit the own team for example in the middle of a teamfight especially if your low health tank gets it.
that's what his dash is for. And, worst case scenario, yoink a teammate back to force them to help with the flanker.
Finally, I can pull my overextended teammates back to the team!
LMAO!!! Indeed!
Then proceed to get reported after lol
Yeah it can be trolled w/ but I see huge potential to allow a team mate to go deep in for kills then pull them back to safety when they are done or vulnerable to death.
I'm more worried about the trolls using this ability. That's the only thing that I don't like about this character. That pull is going to be hella annoying when used by trolls.

I agree that it would work better as you wouldn´t need to first toggle the healing and damage which would put your healing on a delay as you have to charge it.
Aren’t all controls completely remappable on all characters individually? This shouldn’t be a problem
you can remap all your abilities lol dont worry (idk about the double spacebar one tho)
Very well made video, very in depth. Thank you for sharing the information and your insights.
Oooh I'm going to have so much fun forcing people to group up with the pull. It's also a breath of fresh air seeing a pure utility support. He's definitely not here for a healing job alright.
They may still buff it a lil bit so he can do more max healing
With a 20 second cooldown, having the ability down for the team fight isn't that good an idea
@@spacedout4061 No. You don't buff the heal of off-supports like Zen Lucio Brig and Mercy. Why? Because their main assets is not to be healbots. You get the most value out of them by using their UTILITIES.

I think Ana will love Petal Platform though.

Chamber just popping out in 4:01 is just😭😭😭
I expected the tree to have more HP ngl. Enemy team can melt it with some heroes
True. Tho its still pretty in the way
I don’t think they should make it so that teammates have to press the interact key to accept being pulled and hear me out.
They remind me of OG Torb’s armor packs (RIP)
Cant wait to hear about his lore
"The potential with this character is limitless. Plus, he's hot."
Agreed.
Life Grip is definitely going to be a big troll tool lmao
I can see this character playing very well with snipers/hitscans. Put a platform up and said hitscan gets a portable high ground.
4:01 the chamber diss lol
He’s gonna get so many reworks in the coming months I can already tell.
His potential to troll is limitless even his ult can be use as a troll like blocking teammates like a mei wall

The pull needs a consent confirm. It's going to be annoying af by trolls
Did I forget anything about these "New" abilities.
me when I put my unlisted video in a playlist
they should make the pull ability an interact button sort of thing, like sym portal, So you can deny the pull if you wanted.
what is his max HPS??? i know you said 65 fully charged but how fast will we be able to heal a tank? is it going to be similar to a zen orb? seems low with charge time :((
It will be a lot faster than zens orb (look like Lifeweaver can charge it in around 1 second) and that's burst healing so even better but his ultimate only gives 50 HPS compared to zens 300 HPS even with Lifeweaver's initial 150 HP and 2 second longer time its 550 max total HP for Lifeweaver (this can be much shorter because the Tree is destroyable) vs Zen's max total HP of 1800 not to mention zen is invulnerable and can move around

Zarya bubble? Y give 2 heroes the same ability?

I think a Mercy/Lifeweaver comp can work well. If you pull Mercy while being semi-close to her, she can have a safe rez. Though it does need a good timing. I also think its possible to perform a falling rez if the soul of a teammate gets elevated with the platform.
ALSO Lifeweaver could be very useful if you as an Ana for example are coming out of spawn, since a lot of people like camping supports, Lifeweaver can save a support with no movement to escape.

I see a lot of people saying his pull should be a tether that the pulled teammate needs to accept for the pull to activate but that would basically be a free tracer recall which would be so op.

"plus he's hot" BASED
I feel like he's going to be situational on launch and not all that powerful outside of some seriously gimmicky team comps (unless balance changes at the start of the season end up making heroes he works well with really busted, we simply won't know).
“Plus he’s hot” Real
I love what they’re going for with the team mate succ ability of life gripper but I think it’s just gonna cause too many issues in lower ranks. I can see it now where friendly rein goes for shatter on half hp and just gets animation cancelled or misses because of it. We’ll see tho definitely clutch potential there
They should have a "confirm grip" option in my opinion, like how echo's or ana's "confirm duplicate/nanoboost" except it's for an ability and not a ult
