    Gun is out of battery . The slide isn't going forward all the way. What guide rod and recoil Spring do you have in it. Canik has a replacement guide rod and recoil spring for it. They shipped a bunch of the canik tti ones with the wrong recoil spring set up. It's not the firing pin set up.

      @@AutoBiography903 striker spring and striker aren’t the issue it’s the slide spring and rod likely. You can see when the trigger is pulled the whole slide moves slightly forward meaning it’s not seated all the way into battery. Could also be the ejector keeping the round slightly out of battery but doubt it.

    I just ran over 200 rounds of various 124gn through my brand new TTI to sight in the new RMR. (Cheap target and self defense rounds) I did do a full clean and lube before hitting the range. Not a single problem. Performed perfectly. The package comes with a low grain slide spring. If you shoot low grain, I suggest you follow the manufacture instructions and switch to the correct (low) spring for your grain round. This SHOULD fix the out of battery issue. But like I said, mine ran like butter! Extremely impressed and very happy. I highly recommend it if you’re on the fence.

    I trimmed 1 1/2 coil off extractor spring and 100% resolved return to battery issue of my TTI combat. Saw this fix on Reddit. Several hundred rounds since without issue since doing this. YMMV

      I've seen your comment on a few reviews. I'm trying to watch every review of this gun as I'm almost done finished paying it off. Do you have a video of the process or know where to find more info on your fix?

    • @AvgKsHunter
      @AvgKsHunter 3 місяці тому

      @@rpgfreak92787 there are videos on how to get the extractor spring out. The one I watched was for a complete break down for a Canik but wasn’t specific to the TTI (they are all the same though). I started out trimming one coil of the spring off went out and had noticeably reduced RTB issues and less damage on the face of the bullet. Trimmed off another half coil and that fixed it.
      Before I found this fix on Reddit I had already contacted Canik CS and they sent me the stiffer recoil spring. Issue was fixed before I got it but I’m running it now too. The new recoil spring shoots nicer IMO but isn’t what fixed the RTB issues I was having. I probably have 1500 rounds down range now and after trimming the extractor spring zero problems and runs great. Before I did this I couldnt even get through a single mag no matter the weight/brand without multiple RTB issues. Wasted a lot of money (around 500 rounds) trying to “break it in” which wasn’t the issue. I now love shooting this firearm and am very happy to have it.

    • @AvgKsHunter
      @AvgKsHunter 3 місяці тому +5

      If someone is having this issue and wants to do this I’d suggest trimming one coil of the extractor spring first and seeing if this resolves it before clipping more off. Like I mentioned after one coil trimmed off I noticed the improvement but cutting the other half coil is what ultimately fixed it. From what I read, and why I tried this fix, is people that have done this noted the extractor spring is too long/stiff for this ported Canik.

    I've had the same issue with mine. After 100 rounds i cleaned it very well including the striker assembly. Shot another 50 rounds of 124gr and only had a couple failures. It's a new gun so I don't like the idea of trimming the ejector spring. I'm going to try another 100 rounds before contacting Canik. Too many people are having this problem for it to be a limp wristing issue.

    So after I watched your video, I bought a TTI.
    At the shop while going over new gun, I installed the lighter spring.
    Next day we went to range, and several times had exact issue you are making video about.
    Pushed slide fully FWD, and it would shoot.
    I ran to the truck in a panic and grabbed the stronger spring and put it (stock) stronger 💪 spring back in.
    After putting stock spring back in, I had no more problems the rest of the day, and we several people pushed rounds through it--zero issues.
    200+ rds = zero issues.
    Had I not watched your video I would have been furious at my new purchase, so thanks for the vid-- the fix for me was simply putting stock spring back in....
    Once I have a few hundred more rds through it I'll try lighter spring again see if it works then.....

  • @MrCyberious
    @MrCyberious Місяць тому +1

    Based on the video it looks like on the shots with issues the slide is moving slightly forward AFTER you pull the trigger which leads me to believe it isn’t going back into battery. Which would explain no strikes on the primer. You can try to grip it tighter (remember Glock wrist) or putting a heavier recoil spring in there.

    Good video shows the problems I had. Canik support sucks. They don’t have a phone to talk too. Disappointed in Taran butler. He claimed he wanted a gun that straight out the box would work. Evidently he didn’t quality control this product. I have 5 Caniks and fix my own because they don’t have support system. I don’t believe a gun needs a break in period but use 124 grain on Caniks the first 500 rounds. I changed the recoil spring to lighter one and polished barrel ramp and slide rails. It definitely improved. I believe you’re right about the guide rod and spring. I guess have to wait for aftermarket assembly to fix Taran’s screw up.

    Lock the slide back and drop a round in the chamber. When you point that barrel up north, that round should drop right out. Mine is having issues with consistency of rounds dropping out. I'm almost positive the tolerances on the chamber are too tight and this is causing some issues with the failure to go into battery

    Is it happening with both mags? I noticed when you showed your early failures that it was out of battery. Not as bad as the 1 you showed at the end of the video. It's going into battery as you squeeze the trigger. Maybe the mag is hanging it up a few milliseconds and causing your issue? You could press check that gun and the cocking indicator will reset. But if it's not in battery the indicator will still show ready to fire because you pulled the trigger before it could fire. Just a guess

    Just out of curiosity, have you pulled the striker and the striker block out and inspected those parts? I’ve heard that there is a problem with some chipping away and damage of where the striker engages with the striker block. It may not have anything to do with it. But if there is visual damage of those parts, it could be a possibility. I’m glad I saw this because I really wanted to purchase one of these. Now I am a little “gun shy“. Pardon the pun. I wanted one of these because I have a Canik elite combat that has about 5000 rounds through it at this point and it is a fantastic gun and I honestly can’t remember any issues at all with it. I was having the same issues. I’ve been shooting for over 30 years so I know it wasn’t a grip issue like canik was originally saying. I cleaned it before I took it to the range the first time, it wasn’t factory grease gumming it up. I sent it back in and they had it for a couple weeks and replaced the striker and spring. I ran a few hundred rounds through it with no issues. Took it out to finally show it off to some friends and it went right back to having the same problems again. I noticed the actual bullet was a little mangled like it was hitting the feed ramp or top of the barrel, and the feed ramp did look a little odd. I sent it back in again. Canik just replaced the entire gun for me this time. Haven’t taken it to the range yet but the feed ramp looks different now. Maybe it was an issue with the early ones that has since been corrected. Just took my TTI Combat out to the range today to break her in. Ran 250 rounds and had about 75 failure to return to battery. I reached out to Century Arms for some help. Running 115 grain Winchester. Just sucks because she was getting so much attention from everyone and I looked like a fool with the constant failures. Taran Butler should be embarrassed to have his branding on this collaboration. Never following the hype again lol. I’ll stick to my Springfield XD and Beretta PX4 Storm.

      I actually had the exact same problem. I thought it was the gun. But ill be honest. I was limp wristing the gun and that was causing failure to return to battery. I worked on my grip and I have never had a problem again. I am also using new republic 115 grain. It has been running flawlessly since I've changed my grip. I also have 2 glocks which I have never ever had any failures with even with my crappy grip. But the tti requires proper techniques to fire correctly. I'm just being honest.

      @@carcar5911 yea I took it out the next day and had much better results with 124 grain. I reached out to Century Arms and they are sending me a high force performance spring so when that gets in I’ll see if it helps as I still get about 1 failure per magazine. The scaphoid bone in my dominate wrist is permanently broken so I know my grip isn’t the best which could be a contributing factor. I just don’t get the same failures when running my Springfield XD or Beretta PX4 Storm, but the TTI is a competition gun so I hear they run better with specific ammunition and a more experienced shooter. They borrowed then Walther trigger (just lightened the springs to give it a ligher pull) and decided that with a great trigger and nicely packaged ppl will buy it
    I have a Rival and I got light primer strikes. Take that same round and put it in my PDP and it fires every time
    Also, I had a few hundreds rounds through my Rival before the cerakote started to wear.
    Before I had my PDP ported and cerakoted I had thousand through it and you couldn’t never tell.

      You aren't totally correct in calling Canik off brand Walter's. They are not a PDP. They are originally clones of the Walther P99 model.
      Canik makes firearms and weapons for the Turkish military and police force.
      Canik has aerospace manufacturing experience with Airbus, Boeing, and Lockhead Martin.
      They have a reputation for reliability.
