    Part number on the smaller deep groove bearing on the left side?

  • @AsharAutomotive

    Hey, do you have more details on the high speed seal? Where did you source it from/part number etc? Also, do you happen to have a video or able to describe the disassembly of the "compressor" side of the pinion shaft? As in the order of parts (bearing, spacer?, seal, shim, compressor blade) - is that correct or am I missing anything? Thanks!

    Question....are the wave springs supposed to be on each half of the case? When disassembling mine, they are only on the front half and the input has one spring while the output has 3 stacked together. Not sure if that's typical?

    Could you show how you take the scroll off. Was it easy to do ? I know there is the seal that runs all around the outside that you need to worry about, but is there anything else. Is it just cracking it open all around the outer than pulling up. What about the main seal( input shaft) again do you just pull up. Any special instructions with that. I'm doing a f series blower. Just need to reclock the oil slinger. I appreciate all the help

    • @philipmacduffie7612

      You just take the socket head screws out and evenly wiggle it off. The cover doesn't have an o-ring in it. The case does, but dont take that off unless you plan to dismantle the entire unit.

    Phillip, had my vehicle at the paint house for 7 weeks, need my lawyer to get them to finish after got it back in 4 days but they drained 1/2 the oil out, probably drove it max 100 miles before had a chance to ck everything .Changed it didn't smell burnt , had a super tiny spot of rubber in it, now new noises, actually sounds better, now highway speeds but at least 10 launches. How worried should i be? It was hot and a tiny bit of air was in it when cked. Tks for help

      I don't think I would be that worried the blower is splash lubricated so it's not receiving pressurized oil nor does it require it. Are you sure it's not leaking? It doesn't hold much and it would be hard to take half of it out.

    IMO, Supercharger Rebuilds is the best bang for your buck, for any parts you may need. They have aftermarket billet and performance impellers for just about anything. For example, they have a D1SC style impeller that will "bolt in" and fit your P1SC with no machining, effectively making it a D1SC for under $500.

    • @philipmacduffie7612
      @philipmacduffie7612  4 роки тому

      Except it doesn't fit the shaft worth a damn. I've bought one and I'm not impressed at all. The manufacturer claims it's this way on purpose to help "home gamers" install it. That's a load of garbage. If you can press the OEM one off you can put the other back on.

    • @mnsmtrs
      @mnsmtrs 4 роки тому

      They will supply "slip fit" for easier installation for DIY-ers that had a machine shop remove the old one (then use a retaining compound on the shaft - for extra security), OR "press fit" for those who have access to a hydraulic press to re-install. Then of course, use Red Loctite 271 on the impeller retaining bolt.

    • @philipmacduffie7612
      @philipmacduffie7612  4 роки тому +1

      @@mnsmtrs Mine is tapered and significantly oversize for a fit on a shaft that could be turning 60k rpm. If you can't press it on correctly then have someone do it. There is no reason to risk an off center impeller than can move on the shaft just to make it easier to install. That said, there is no reason ProCharger should not sell parts. There is also no reason to make those parts incorrectly. It just gives the whole industry of rebuilding a bad name. Just like inferior reman parts from the autoparts store. If they upheld the quality of the OE they would have the reputation generic drugs have. Same safe tested quality, less mark up and more value.

    I just received my super charger back from pro charger. It had a leaking seal on the belt side. They charge me $602. They said they needed to replace the O-rings as well. I requested all of the old parts be returned but they did not return them. As simple as this unit is, however it is very critical with the tolerances, I think they are price gouging. I asked for a rebuild kit and they would not sell it out right. Plus, not returning my parts shows they are being rather shady.

    • @philipmacduffie7612

      Charlie, the belt drive side seal is a very common part. The high speed seal is a custom component that they do not sell.

      Does a P1 have a 4.1:1 gear ratio like a P1SC? If it does then yes you can. There however is a problem. The genuine procharger D1 compressor housing cover is different. Aftermarket companies make a D1 compressor wheels that will fit the P1sc cover.

      The GMN CTA A7 bearing basically doesn't exist. Finding a suitable alternate will be a challenge. Your P1SC-1 is likely already turning faster than a normal D1SC. Cheap 6204s have an inadequate speed rating; look for 50K rpm in oil as a start.
