I look forward to seeing how that 52100 Kukri Plus holds up. TheSwift 3 is not the first assisted folder for Cold Steel though. They had the previous Swift models.
I was waiting on the magnacut recon 1.... until I heard the blades are made in Italy. That means we'll be lucky if it even hits 60hrc 😟. Still using blade dulling secure-ex ☹️
Yep the idea is awesome and I'd love a Recon1 in Magnacut. BUT there's no way I'm going to pre-pay that much for a steel that takes expert heat treating and high Rockwell hardness to be worthwhile, from factories that are known for doing a horrible job heat treating steel. I'll wait until it's been in hands for a few months and watch the testing. And if it passes professional scrutiny I'll wait til the price becomes reasonable.
Italian factories are known for botching the heat treatment. Magnacut takes really skillful heat treating & high hardness for it to actually perform as a super-steel. Most of the Magnacut coming out of Italy is closer to AUS-8 in reality.
Look into how horrible Italian heat treatments are. Magnacut steel needs expert heat treatment and high hardness to truly have super-steel properties. The Magnacut coming out of Italy acts more like AUS-8 in reality. So I'd steer way clear of this until it's been properly tested.
@@MB-jg4tryou can stop telling everyone that, it's got a fantastic heat treat. Easily out performs cpm 20cv. Recon 1 in magnacut it my favorite blade now. Other than my microtech otfs
The kukri looks sweet (depending on actual street price) & getting back to tougher steels on folders is good to see. The S35 was such a downgrade from xhp (especially for something that's major selling point is being indestructible) yet somehow cost more, made me stop buying the top tier models entirely in favor of the aus 10 stuff. Magnacut and/or M4 tri-ad tantos & Talwars, please! Love the 3v & 52100 stuff though.
No the Swift was their first assisted. I have 2 of them. I'm pretty sure they are real. Lol Magnacut Recon and and Arc Angel are definitely being bought.
Assisted is illegal in my country. Also its not really usefull if the knife has a good manual action already. Maybe a full auto version would be intersting for the people that allowed to havr that🤷🏻♂️
@@thechugdude Because I like knives that have good action opening and closing. The assisted knives I've used have good opening action, but pressing against the spring messes with the closing action. They feel like I have to cock them like a pellet gun when I close them.
How the mighty have fallen! Assisted knives only exist because you are too cheap to spec your OEM to hold proper tolerances. Even Chinese budget brands can pull it off.

it's not the first assisted... its called the swift 3 for a reason lol
I already have the Magnacut Recon on preorder but that Swift 3 looks sweet!
What happened to the Swift?? That was assisted.
Thank you! My thoughts exactly.
CS needs to make a larger AK-47 Folder, i love my regular one its all i carry but would love to see a larger model.
i picked up a engage budget knife at the blade show west in utah and its wild how much i actually carry this thing. i love my engage!
No ad-10 titanium/magnacut special edition? I heard that
I have the original Recon 1 and love it. this M1 Recon looks awesome but probably out of my price range.
BRING BACK THE RECON ONE XL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes please. And start using K390 steel
GIVE US 5 MAX SCOUT COLD STEEL (Aus steel) !!!!
Assisted? 20 years late to the show. I hate those things tbh. Manual on bearings is stupid reliable and opens easy one-handed.
Assisted with the atlas lock makes no sense
He did say Happy New Year even though its June, so being late must be his thing
@@megacab I hadn’t even realized that… very good point. It’s like putting socks on over your shoes.
They made The Swift
Right?! And the dummy in the back is gimmicky asf 😂
still waiting on the 5-max scout :(
Swift 3! Our first assisted opening knife 👍

I'm still waiting for DCA to interact with the madman from Condor this year. XD
Joe Flowers you mean?
I want this gurkha kukri. It is made of 52100 steel and has coating protection.
Second assisted folder, first was the "Swift" at least 6 or 7 years ago.
Swift came out a while ago and it was assisted
Where MagnaCut Espada xl with black and blue G10 handle?
I have a cold steel swift that ive owned for at least 7 years , its assisted opening .....
What about the FM1?!
Ha, the FM-1 is why I clicked this video. I want that FM-1 bad, it's awesome.
Lynn's looking younger each year!
Bro he lost a lot of weight too.
Oh man, first you hear Magnacut, then you hear “made in Italy”
WELP 🤷♂️ that’s twice the price!

@@MB-jg4tr aus-8 with maxamet pricing. What a lovely combo
Mini Recon with Magnacut within 3 years please.
So long as it makes money, my opinion is useless. However, making the same exact recon & only changing the steel shouldn’t cost that much.
Made in Italy added $100 to the price.
Links would be nice
Full black recon1 in magnacut = please take my money

Swift 3 new love...
Hell yaman badass
Assisted folder? Meh…..
Cold Steel needs to do some automatics.
arc-angel update?
italian magnacut?? yikes...
it's not cold steel's first assisted knife lol
Wasn't the original called a swift too? Lol 😅

I can't stand assisted folding knives personally. Much rather have a smooth action for open AND close.
American lawman and airlite in MagnaCut please
No. It is NOT Cold Steel's 1st assisted folder. Who made that silly mistake?

Um… is that it?
That's enough

rip cs
RIP indeed. Cold Steel does not exist anymore. GSM Outdoors Could Steal.

Jeez why put an assist on a fidgety one hand closing lock like the atlas lock 🤦♂️ made it into a two hand close for no reason…

More fixed blades! Folders are already broken!

Cold Steel really went downhill the last couple of years imo😢
