Follow me as I show you how to make an amazing river delta. This bird's eye view of a watercourse is easy to achieve, and in this tutorial I demonstrate the techniques and materials I used to make it.
I definitely relied on a lot of trial and error, mainly due to the miniature scale, but the techniques I ended up using can be used to create rivers, streams and other water effects for model railways, wargaming terrain and dioramas of all scales.
In this video I also demonstrate my use of Hot Wire Foam Factory's 16-inch 3D Pro Table, Freehand Router and Engraving Tool, which they were very generous to gift me for use in my videos. The table is a great piece of kit, ideal for cutting blocks of foam to exact measurements and also for cutting cones, cylinders and other creative shapes in foam.
I have used CFS Fibreglass resins for a long time. They were kind enough to send me some materials, too. Head to www.cfsnet.co.uk and enter the code HIGHEYE10 for a 10% discount. Well worth it - their epoxy is fantastic.
Other materials used:
Acrylic paint
Game Washes by Vallejo
Woodland Scenics Coarse Turf
Mod Podge Gloss
Liquitex Pouring Medium
Isopropyl Alcohol
Scenic Glue
Anita's Gloss Embossing Glue
Scenery from dioramapresepe.com

In this video I use several products that were gifted to me to use in my videos:
Scenic vegetation/plants by Diorama Presepe (www.dioramapre..., / dioramapresepe.com_off... , www.youtube.co....
16-inch 3D Pro Scroll hot wire table from Hot Wire Foam Factory: hotwirefoamfac...
I have used CFS Fibreglass resins for a long time. The resin used in this video I bought some time ago, however they were kind enough to gift me some materials: www.cfsnet.co.uk.

Many of the materials and tools I use come with safety instructions. Please always read and follow these rather than simply copy what you see me or other people doing.

If you want to hear my shoulder make the most almight crack, go to 12:07. If you don't, skip that time. 😬
Hello ihave quastion plz i need your help
This might have been a piece of work you made on the fly, but it is magical - and so very brave and quite unique - I've not seen anything like it attempted before - nor water executed so well.
Ah, thank you so much.
So sorry I'm late. All the days and times of day are folding into one at the moment 🥴
That big jar of mud looked for all the world like you were putting peanut butter on it. 😋
Chocolate peanut spread.
What a stunning diorama!😍
Really love the scenes with water in it.
Thanks for sharing all your creations with us!
Thanks Ilona.
Brilliant work
Looks so real, cant believe
Thank you for adding materials list, super helpful
This is fantastic! Several new techniques and products in this one too. Thanks, Merrick!
Cheers, Daniel. Glad you liked it!
It's very beautiful and so peaceful.
Thank you, Beatrice.
Wow amazing work you do!!! I thought this was real at first
Very nice, as always, outstanding.
Great tutorial. You've inspired me for me own builds, thanks
Thanks for saying so!
I love it. Thank you for creating such beauty. 😊
Thank Dora 😊
You’re welcome. It’s a pleasure watching you work.
Looks great! Thanks for sharing 🍺
Wow!!!!! Amazing!!!
Thank you 😊
PERFECT my friend :)
Cheers Fabio!
I also make dioramas similar to yours (actually 2 pieces so far, but I am thinking about larger project). I always have issue with waves on water - I used Modge podge gloss but I wasn't happy with the final effect. It always gets too flat for me. I was thinking to try using thin layer of resin and brushing to get waves effect until it is dry and hard, but I don't know yet if it is gonna work anyhow. This embossing glue pen also makes the difference - it looks amazing in my opinion. However I am not sure if I can buy it in my country. Anyway, great video and can't wait to see mentioned larger project. :) cheers from Poland
Try an acrylic gel, like Liquitex or Winsor and Newton. Make sure it's quite a heavy-bodied one. Or you could use a crystal clear polymer mixed with some white spirit, like I do here ua-cam.com/video/fsnOMOiR1e4/v-deo.html
Rough? Bloody masterpiece mate. I love watching your work, keep at it as long as you enjoy it!
Ha ha! Thank you.
Nice ♥️
Thank you
Amazing work! What do you do with all your pieces when they’re done?
Thank you 😊 I tend to reuse bits from them or gift them.
Genius :-)
Yo this fire fr tho💯
Excuse me I need a project done by the end of the week
Pro i have one quastchin plz i need your help worksshop
I've had to unsubscribe, your content has started to lack quality and you stick to the same safe themes.
Shame you feel that, but that's fine. Next video I'm really pushing things, but have had little time to until now, working full-time and running the channel the rest of the time. It's not easy. Maybe see you back, maybe not. Thanks for your support anyhow.
I said thank you for your support, which you have shown by having been subscribed till now, and I meant it. I explained why I've found it hard to keep up the bigger projects till now. If you now feel you want to unsubscribe, that's ok. I hope you'll see something you like in future on my channel. Pettiness isn't one of my flaws.
I misread your reply to the original comment as a reply to my reply. Sorry! Thanks for being a support 👍👍
High Eye Workshop Don't fall for that nonsense. He has 2 subs to his channel. You have, I believe, 147,000. Haters are gonna hate. Don't waste your time on them.
@@normanrowe2831 having 2 subs really doesn't bother me - being a UA-camr isn't my career path.
Maybe my opinion with push him to be more creative, maybe not. I liked the guys videos, but I've recently found them to be not as creative/similar theme... that's my two cents, from my prospective.
Hello. It has become really nice. When you put the color in there, I thought OMG, but it really got great. Greetings Tino
Think the resin pour really came out well, the subtlety of doing the first pour added alot of dept to the piece.
Funny how things work out, isn't it. Thank you.
Hai, i enjoyed it anyway hahaha. How is your shoulder? Greetings,, Kitty.
Thanks Kitty. My shoulder is always rubbish!
@@HighEyeWorkshop ai that sucks but love your work. Try glucosamine. That wil help a litle with your shoulder.
Your videos have always given me a sense of peace, and I appreciate that now more than ever. Stay healthy ❤️
Thank you, Maya. I'm glad you find them peaceful. Take care.
"A rough job" I aspire for even a semblance of what you created, LOL Absolutely well done, looks amazing!
Beautiful job
Thank you
Hello Merrick, that was great. Always entertaining watching you work. Equally as entertaining listening to your narrative. I love you explaining your trials and errors. But...in the end we receive another great tutorial with stunningly realistic results. Thanks. See ya next time.
Thanks for your continued support, Norman 😀
I need to buy one of those hot wire cutter thingys. So squidgy!
I clicked so fast
amazing !!
Excellent work, if only I had your patience. At 03:56 I saw a block of blue foam. Is there a link on Amazon for this depth? (Looks like about 5cms?) I'm looking for A1 size sheets 594x841mm for the base and terrain for a castle I'm trying to build and this size is perfect. Thanks.
Hello. Thank you! The foam I use is from Bluefoamuk, available through eBay. They do all sorts of sizes. It's better quality than the hardware store stuff, which is softer. Bluefoam's foam is now black, but identical otherwise.
