Respect to Sonequa's endless positivity, generosity and enthusiasm bringing this panel to life, but in general, these panels are kinda painful to watch. The conversations are awkward and fake, the host makes nervous jokes, and the guests usually can't actually say anything specific about their roles due to secrecy. It's just a bunch of uncomfortable actors trying to be nice lol - and talking about how much they love and respect their fans when this is literally one of the few times they actually have to acknowledge their fans. And seeing the cast fall totally silent whenever a showrunner or producer is speaking exposes the hierarchical nature of working on studio productions - they're not all 'family'.

Hope they bring back Jason Isaacs and have him return as Gabriel Lorca PRIME, captain of the USS Buran. That would be awesome to have Isaacs return as the good guy and become the captain yet again.
Loving everything I am hearing about season 3 so far. Sounds like they aim to create yet another awesome season for the show. Season 2 was a massive improvement over season 1. Good stuff!

Sonequa is a gift to the Star Trek universe. She is just amazing. And her outfit here is out of this world. I honestly hope she will be allowed to look more like herself in the series. 😃 Excited for the new season! Haters gonna keep hatin’ of course.

Have you liked Discovery from the beginning?
I ask because, for me atleast, the first ¾ of the first season didn't feel like star trek, in the first episode you had a Starfleet officer actively and knowingly start a war unprovoked, then you had a war monger for a captain in gabriel lorca (I know that one was explained in the later episode). I must tell you I loved the second season, it felt like star trek again for me.
They should have started the show 1000 years in the future from the get-go. Could have prevented a lot of the problems.
And then there wouldn't have been the new Spock, Pike, and Number One, who have undoubtedly been huge successes and likely to get their own series. And quite frankly the canon complaints for stuff would have continued regardless, hell, Picard is set in a post Nemesis world and people are still complaining about canon this and canon that. Taking the show into the future wouldn't have changed anything, the people who didn't want Discovery and were set on hating it simply would have found new things to be angry about just as they have done for Picard.
@@CaptainPikeachu Now, not everyone is a canon elitist who doesn't like Discovery. I for one don't like it because for Star Trek... it sure is very Star Wars and has some... let's say interesting interpretations of stories. ^^

It is amazing that alot of those so all fans hated this show so badly that they wouldn't call it Star Trek. But what a difference a season makes now you so call haters love the show and are looking forward to season 3. I'm happy for everyone involved with the show that you fans had changed you minds about it, but to be honest it would have been your list if you had not. Immoral of this lesson,: don't be so quick to judge something new, without giving it a chance to show its wares.
There are just a bunch of people paid to be internet influencers on UA-cam and Message boards, hoping to sway public opinion on STD. I tried watching the first season, and after that mess, refuse to give the show any more of my time. The way they attacked the fans, has made me actually make an effort and not give my money to anything Star Trek branded. Many others feel the same way. More than the people that are being paid to give this crap show good reviews.
It's funny, Leonard Nimoy looked better in Spoke makeup. But Ethan looks nice without any makeup.

If there are going to be a shake up and change up in things. Is that acknowledgement that there was something wrong? If only the stories were as good as the visual cinematic values! But alas so far the proof is not in the pudding.
People do not like change they want everything to be the same as before that is not new and you want it to be different and more updated by now
Star Trek Discovery forges a new frontier for the franchise. I love the expanding frontier. It ensures the future of the Trek Universe. On a different note. I do not want to ever see an R rated Trek and it is frightening to think of a Tarantino trek. I would not subscribe to nor watch an R Rated trek. I don't think Tarantino has a regard nor respect for Trek and I think he says that upfront by attempting to bring R Rated content that my family can not watch to the screen then label it Gene Roddenberry's Trek. I sincerely hope they reconsider this.

I didn't like this series that much when I watched the first few, but binged both seasons recently and really got into season 2, and am now looking forward to the 3rd. Love everything to do with the Kelpiens and Saru. (I did like having Spock in the storyline and having Burnham and Spock together, but agree that you can't break canon. Don't know that Pike necessarily needs a spinoff though. Sonequa with Michelle as mirror Georgiou is interesting. I also like where Tilly's character went, and her geeking out with her Queen friend, even though the character was bordering on too annoying in the beginning).
rebecca is there for like 15 minutes in the whole show..and if they cut all her scenes, there would be absolutely NO difference in the final plot. I really dont get why shes in every panel.
this could be the best thing they could have done for Discovery. Season two made Discovery watchable. hopefully season 3 will take it where it always should have been, in its own place and timeline

STD is horrible. I watched the first season and the show had the worst writing of any show on TV and movies. They plagiarized major parts of their show from Battlestar Galactica, they even copied the same camera tricks (the pull out into the universe that was done in the season finale of the first season when they figure out they are in the mirror universe, that was the same camera pull out that BSG did when Starbuck came back, they pulled the camera out to show where earth was. They used this show to attack the fans. They used this show to promote US politics. They used this show for spite. I refuse to throw any money at the brand now that they completely ruined the franchise.

They need to admit that Discovery is NOT part of the original timeline from TOS through Enterprise. It's a new "Prime" timeline that is a Bad Robot version of the Star Trek timeline, separate from the Kelvin timeline, but NOT the original timeline, contractually 25% different than the original timeline.
There is absolutely no evidence that anything had to be 25% different. This comment is utter bullshit. Discovery is absolutely prime timeline.
Did you even watch If Memory Serves? It shows it.....right there. It goes(starting with Pike) Pilot, DSC, Pilot 2, TOS, films 1- the 1st 20 minutes of 7, TNG, DS9, VOY, Films 7-10 and Picard. Then reset to ENT and the KT. Nuff said. Thank you come again

Gene Roddenberry is spinning in his grave with every word out of Alex’s mouth. This show isn’t run by people talented enough to make star trek.
Honestly - they're MORE talented (and better writers) that Rick Berman and Brannon Braga ever were. The 24th century 'conference table' Trek with the 'particle of the week' (where they'd ultimately reconfigure the deflector the deflector to emit the technobabble of the week); got old fast. The BEST version of Star Trek is still the original from 1966-69 - which I saw first run on NBC (starting at the age of 6, but with TOS you saw new aspects as you re watch). Discovery Season 2 incorporating the characters of Pike, Number One and Spock on the 1701 felt more like 'Star Trek' than anything produced in the 18 years B&B ran the show. (YMMV of course).
Armsman No way man. Yes, Pike and Number one were great. Saru is good too. But the shows story line makes little to no sense. From huge plot holes to them jumping back in time AFTER the AI was already dead. The complete lack of realistic science. Not to mention the violence and drama being turned up to 11.
I get that you like 60s Trek but the ideas of Starfleet had been expanded and turned into a deep and complex lore. This show ignored all of that and turned Trek into something it wasn’t. It didn’t sound like Trek it didn’t feel like Trek.
Also Curtsman has ruined several other properties, from Superman to the Transformers and the Amazing Spider-Man. Part of what I’m saying is about his work as a whole.
Season 2 of ST:D was better than the first, sure. But he creates “looks” and “spectacle” without thinking out plot or details. Watch over the show again and I think you’ll see that it doesn’t come together as a well thought out story.
PS Spock doesn’t sound like Spock either man. “What? I like science.” is something we See in Spock, not a sentence he would ever speak out loud.

Discovery sucks bad. they ( the producers and writers ) ruined star trek . Discovery dont even exist in the star trek lore for me .
