I do hope, sincerely, that Philip Jackson gets to see this beautifully and affectionately put together vignette of his career with its emphasis in Japp. You did a fine job here.
What a lovely homage. Thank you. I would add that, as an American, I think British movies and TV series are, in general, much better at creating life-like characters and stories in which you can become immersed and not just be entertained.
I couldn't blame C.I. Japp for finding the perfect excuse to get away from his wife's family a.s.a. Peroit came to the rescue on Christmas Day . I love ❤️ the young lady's presentation on Phillip Jackson and the beautiful portrait of the little boy that was sitting behind her .
@@marina_via Absolutely. I just love them all and they worked so well together and made the series so enjoyable. Thank you so much for your lovely Agatha Christie videos
I recently watched all of 'Tales of the Unexpected', and Hugh Fraser was in one episode where he was able to trap a couple of blackmailers and get them arrested. It was really cool! One of the blackmailers was played by Mr Pye from 'The Moving Finger' with Joan Hickson, iirc. Philip Jackson was also in an episode of 'Tales of the Unexpected', and so was David Suchet.
This is wonderful! Very nicely done, and your English is superb. I am only very familiar with Mr. Jackson's portrayal of Japp, as I am American, and hated 1970s American television. I didn't even own a tv, until my husband bought me a small black and white set, for Christmas 1979, when it became apparent that as the result of my 1st, high-risk pregnancies, I would be on bed rest for the better part of 5 months. This was when I would find out about good tv, via BBC America. Shows like "All Creatures, Great and Small" brought the books my husband had also given to me, as gifts, when we were newlyweds. God Bless you, for a thoroughly enjoyable almost 20 minutes. I look forward to hearing more, as a new subscriber!
Thanks for this. I confess I was quite taken aback by his comment about not caring to remember 'the Chief Inspector Japp." (I always enjoyed that way Poirot referred to him; like "My associate, Captain Hastings."
Hi Marina, Great video thank you! I am a great Poirot fan and have watched all the episodes many times. Please tell me, what is your accent? I can’t place you. Thanks Alan 😊

agree!
Chief Inspector Japp was one of my favourite characters. Thank you for this new video. 😊
My pleasure! Thank you for watching!
I couldn't imagine any other actor than Philip Jackson as C.I. Japp . 😊
The acting in that series was simply spectacular.
I love the chemistry all four characters had with each other and the friendship Poirot and Japp had was lovely ❤❤❤
He's a great actor. Never the same person twice. Manner, bearing - he changes everything
If Marina's posting, I'm watching! I love Chief Inspector Japp!
☺ thank you so much for this support!
I love the scene with Japp and his Welsh in-laws singing Christmas songs, playing on the stereotype that all the Welsh are great singers.
Me too! That was definitely my husband with my family at Christmas. 😆

That was one of my favourite episodes Loved Inspector Japp he and Poirot were great together
I was honestly surprised when I discovered Philip Jackson wasn’t from London - his accent is that good!
I love how British actors like Philip Jackson, can continue make comedies and dramas for BBC Radio as they grow older.
I always enjoyed seeing Japp, who played the part to a “tee”.
...or a "jay"? 😂
I couldn't imagine anyone else playing the main four characters for the David Suchet episodes.
casting director knew his/her job, for sure!

Neither could I . ❤😊😅😂🤗😉
When I was young I didn't watch this show or read the books..now I listen to them Ober and over mainly the ones the actors narrate

nice addition, thank you!
……Hugh Fraser was in ‘Death in Holy Orders’. David SUCHET has been in several UK tv dramas’ of late.
Keep up the great work.
thank you, will do!

Thank you. This is a wonderful tribute. So much enjoyed. ❤
Thank you so much!
He was the BEST✨
Phillip Jackson’s performance in Sherwood is a revelation.
Miluju inspektora Philip Jackson je dokonalý vlastně celá čtverka.❤😂
Loved this series when Japp, Miss Lemon and his military friend appeared together. It was a sad day indeed when these characters were written off.
They weren't written off to my knowledge
@christineduffy3113 These characters just disappeared then, to build up Poirot.
Now THIS is the type of video i want to have recommended to me. Good Job youtube for getting it right for once. Also what a wonderful video!
no THIS type of comment makes a life a a creator much brighter and happy! Thank you for taking time to write it to me @jeremyduncan
After Poirot Japp would probably be my wife's and my favourite character! Thank you very much for the video! 🙃
Thank you. Love this.
Mr. Jackson is a really good narrator of audio books, but for me, his career highlight is the odious Jaz Milvane in Ed Readon's Week.
I never realised hwo it was played that part until you just mentioned it. thanks

Another character whose wife is notable by her absence. Always mentioned, never glimpsed.
Phillip has also acted in a number of radio stuff.
He plays Inspector Japp to John Moffat’s Poirot in his famous Audio series.
Omg Grampy!!! How did I not pick up on that 😂
I don't mean this an insult, but I always thought that this actor could have played (the younger) Hitler, because there is some physical resemblance.

Fix that lamp shade.
Tbh, I used to think, aren’t there any other policemen in London. Had enough of this one…
He died in the series under mysterios circumstances mes amis, for it was none other than me. Only joking, no clue.
