Poirot one of my all time favourite series , Suchet, Fraser , Pauline Moran and Jackson were magic together . TY for this wonderful Phillip Jackson interview .
@@samueljimenez1 Pauline Moran said in her interview that the series had been bought by another producers and they had let all of them with the exception of David Suchet to go.
@@samueljimenez1 Today I found also this comment: "orangefrom brighton Apr 9, 2011 i too really miss hastings japp and miss lemon it is such a shame without poirot's family. the stories now are so dark since agatha christie's family have taken control insisting that they are made in this way. what a shame they think they know better than the television programme makers and the fans. i used to love the programme but now am just not bothered whether i watch it or not it is just another murder programme like any other. such a shame."
And here is Pauline's version: "Opening up about how she missed several series of the show after it was sold to a new production company, she told The Guardian: "After 12 years the rights were sold to a new production company, and they wanted a film-noir feeling - which isn't in the books - and guest stars. After Philip and Hugh and I did Evil under the Sun we were shown the door and they didn't include us in the storylines. I've mixed feelings about that."
@@internet123ism2 Well don't read the books then. You won't like them. In the books Hastings et al were rarely used, except if necessary. In the series due to the audience, the otherd were used far more often and in episodes where they were never used in the books.
Both on screen and in real life, Philip Jackson gives the impression of a very kind and decent person. How nice this modest setting in Mr. Jackson's flat looks, as if you were looking at Inspector Japp's flat. Very good memories remained after this masterpiece of British television. A wonderful series, in which there are many things that everyone should strive for: good manners, erudition, good taste in clothes and most importantly the decency of the main characters! Long life to you, Mr. Jackson! Characters like Inspector Japp are an example for the younger generation!
I am quite impressed that you actually allowed Mr.Jackson to answer questions so fully. You didn't ignore him or talk over him. I enjoyed Mr. Jackson's memories and other answers to your questions. Thank you.
Japp was wonderfully interpreted by Hugh Jackson, and the solidity of character that he refers to in relation to Japp definitely came through. The four of them were all such delightful people in real life. A Japp series would have been really nice, he is such a heartwarming fellow!
I don't remember the episode but the one where Inspector Japp temporarily moves in with Poirot and they end up cooking for each other is my absolutely favorite tv moment ever.
@fantom What a wonderful and authentic interview :))) Thank you very much! I adore Japp. Whenever there was an episode without him in it, I felt a big gap and couldn`t enjoy it as if he was there. Wonderfully played by Mr. Jackson. You just have to love him :))))) Thank you very, very much for all the many hours of pleasure you have given us, Mr. Jackson. Friendly greetings from sunny Slovenia.
Great interview giving some insight into the actor and his life as well as his time in Poirot. Very well conducted inteverview I must say, props to the interviewer, enthusiastic, respectful, great questioning and amiable. Well done.
I loved this gentleman! Solid feet on the ground chap. Everything was real about his character. Plain facts, plain food, keep it simple.🤣😂🤣. Brilliant actor.
The first thing I seen Phillip Jackson and Pauline Moran in was Jim Hensons storyteller, the king and Queen in the luck child, I didn't realise that until after watching poirot, then re-watching the storyteller, which was an amazing show, I used to say, the storyteller has dancing words, creative and free. This cast, all of them together were and still are magic, absolute magic, and poirot and japp sniping at each other were some of my favourite episodes, especially in double sin 😄😃🤗🏆⭐️🇦🇺💞.
I love this great actor ,, i wonder dose he have an acount on social madia ? I really wont to rich to him just to tell him how much i love him ,, please your help ❤️
Japp was extremely intelligent and professional, poirot was always worried about what Japp thought, Japp wasn't always worried about what poirot thought, much respect for inspector Japp 😄😄😃, 💞.
@@EthelCaseyAnnabelle yes , however , this is as you know not real people. so , they could make new episodes or a film.IDavid Suchet says that he is open to a film but not tv.
I saw. David Suchet play Japp…..!!!!😊 But prefer Philip Jackson;s Japp….! David Suchet is definitely Hercule Poirot…! But don’t forget lovely Hastings and Miss Lemon…!
I've never got the feeling of Japp being a buffoon or dumb. I saw him as a very good inspector who is excellent in his job but needs some help for the really difficult/tricky cases
Favorite Japp episode was when he stayed at Poirot's apartment and his reactions to the food he was served and the bidet!😂😂😂
Miss Lemon almost losing it as well was funny.
Simply one of THE best tv series EVER produced and every actor was simply superb .... I have watched every one so many many many times ... 👏👏👏👏
Agreed 😍
Me too!

Poirot, Cpt Hastings and Miss Lemon and Chief Inspector Japp- unbeatable- loved it
I've been watching the later episodes without his 3 partners. Good but not as good.

Philip Jackson has beautiful hair esp when tousled. One of my favourite Poirot episodes was when his CI Japp washed his face with Poirot's bidet.
😅
I liked that too
which one was it??
Yes hahah it was funny scene, and I'm Japanese so we don't have and use bidet so I didn't know that when I watched that scene lol

Oh, I so wish they were all back together. Wonderful , each one!!
It is nice to see inspector smiling - very unusual in Poirot series!

Do you know why his character disappeared from the series along with Hastings?
fantastic interview. just loved him in the role of Japp.
Each of the four main characters in the series was an indispensable pillar .

Love Philip Jackson
Ah, my good Inspector Japp!
My favorite Japp moment was in Dead Man’s mirror…….when he asked how he could get in touch with Safra……..meeting on the plane……
Good interview: intelligent questions and intelligent answers. I like the give and take between the two of you. You really listen to each other.

First thing i ever saw Philip Jackson in was Last of the Summer Wine.
Brilliant interview btw.
Fantastic, loved every minute. Thanks for this.
How great to see Philip Jackson as himself. What a great sense of humor! And of course I love, love, love his Inspector Japp!
lovely man, great actor

This tv series of Poirot is a beautiful art and very enjoyable, I hope my grand children will watch them and enjoy as much as me !❤
PHILIP JACKSON WAS AND IS THE PERFECT ACTOR FOR THE INSPECTOR JAPP ROLL.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️👍🏼🇺🇸
Excellent interviewer which makes it even better! There's lots of crappy interviewers around and quite a few of them unfortunately work fot the BBC 😕
Philip Jackson is an excellent actor he is excellent as japp absolutely unbelievable
Thanks Philip Jackson to be Inspector James Japp and being the castmate of David Suchet and Hugh Fraser
Hes look and sound different. Stil love him
Philip Jackson is just so deliciously middle class in the role. Delightful man!

Very good looking Chief Inspector Japp👍🏽
Would love to see you again as a typical “cheerful” British inspector 😅👌🏽
Who gave this thumbs down!?
Someone who didn't use the little gray cells.
😍😍😍😍
He has not changed A bit!
I thought he was in Texis
anyone know what season and episode was Japp's last?
Evil under the sun was the last for Japp and Miss Lemon.
The big four was the last I think
All of them were there

The Chocolate Box was Poirot was telling the story to Hastings and a load of short stories needed padding to be 50 mins long
Hi every Japp fun's!! I have a question How is tall about him? I guess his height is 188cm
Inspector Japp Just wanted to tell you how much I enjoyed your performance in Hercule Poirot. “Mushy peas 🫛” I LOVE IT!!
