Honestly, I feel very sorry for black women especially in this society where cheating is normalized, a lot of guys really believe and think that because they are men, they can do whatever they want with no consequences behind it. As an Asian woman who grew up in a traditional family and knows how households in other countries are like, I applaud you, because you just proved to have sufficient self-control and discipline and you also showed that your decisions are made logically. If I were to have a son one day, I would almost make sure that my son is as celibate as I am right now (no partners, no romantic anything, period) until he married. That's also what I want my future husband to be, because self-control and discipline shows that he has the ability to be hardworking and conscientious, which are good character and personality traits that a traditional woman looks for. I already told my BF this is what we are going to do. I told him if he cheats on me and we have kids and are married we can go to therapy and work out how to co exist for the sake of our kids but as far us sleeping together? Nope. I have had to escort friends to the hospital because of them catching diseases from their partners/ husbands. I think the only thing in a marriage that i personally would not be willing to reconcile and move forward is infidelity. Everything else can be worked through and figured out but losing that level of trust is something you can’t get back. Idc what anyone says, even if they stay with a cheater they are always going to feel some level of resentment and that’s no way to live. Vows are supposed to mean something. You lose your job? The only relationship dynamic that's unhealthy is one that isn't voluntarily agreed upon by both parties. An open marriage CAN be a healthy relationship, if both partners independently decided that that's what they wanted without any coercion or pressure from the other. It may not look like the traditional relationship we've come to expect, but if that's what works for both of them and makes them both happy, it's a healthy relationship. It's not our place to tell someone they're not doing marriage "right" because their marriage doesn't look like ours.
However, this is a very different circumstance. This isn't a healthy decision being made free of pressure or coercion, this is a decision that was made out of a triggered trauma response. She's operating in survival mode and trying to neutralize the threat to her relationship. She's desperately searching for safety and her trauma mind is telling her this is how she can feel safe again. This is a VERY different thing and it's going to devastate both of them to operate in a space neither of them want. I hope she can get the help she needs to sort through her betrayal trauma and heal the wounds she's so very obviously carrying.

I don't agree with open marriage however, I don't think she does either. I think she is hurt and saying that to hurt him. Me personally I can forgive it but can't trust afterwards so I'm out. We can still raise our child together. He can move next door. We can be besties while we raise our child. And I can move on as a single woman until a more appropriate soul comes along. This is me giving it to God and taking action for the sanctuary of my home. By the Grace of God I am not in that predicament but if I were I would have to clean house, forgive, and move based on keeping my faith and sanity.

Polygamy is not beautiful. Just take a look at how the harems in the royal palace of the Chinese emperors were godawful. The women tried to kill each other, all for power and privilege. Not one of those women truly loved the emperor (it's always the one who loves the emperor that will get hurt the most, because the emperors never appreciate them).
Honestly, if I was a man and I wanted a traditional wife, I would make sure that I was just as celibate as I want her to be before the marriage, and I would make sure to set the rules of the relationship WITH her, because even traditional relationships and marriages are a team effort. If the woman is in a traditional marriage, more likely than not, she should probably have full access to the finances as much as the guy has. That's how it is in every country in Asia (women literally make the biggest financial decisions and control the money, where I'm from).
I highly doubt that the vast majority of these player men even remotely understand what it takes to be a traditional husband, because the traditional man in my family's culture brings home all of his finances to the wife and helps build and renovate the house and everything in the yard. He's supposed to carry the responsibility of taking care of the babies just as seriously as the woman, because Asian fathers are required to teach and raise their sons AND daughters properly just like the mother. A man who doesn't care about these roles is no man in the eyes of Chinese society, even in the old days, because men who didn't take care of the children's upbringing and discipline were seen as incompetent, immature adults.
I think that this pattern of expectations is also prevalent in every other society in the ancient world AND every society since then all the way until recently. That includes African communities and Middle Eastern and Latin American society alike. In fact, isn't that the traditional expectation of any community that values tradition?
So, in short, living by community tradition and being a proper traditional man is most certainly very similar if not almost exactly what Christian traditional men are expected to be according to the word of the Lord.

It's wrong in it self to cheat; but why do it in marriage. Like you really can be single and enjoy yourself. If you want somebody to take care of you, there are plenty people who will do that with no commitment. There is legit a person for every situation you can think of; so why cheat in a marriage?! Why take vows and commit yourself to a person to sneak around and cheat. It's not worth it or a benefit. Just stay single!
Adultery is only objectively wrong under God’s moral law, not man’s. Men are corrupt and selfishness sees morally as relative to their desires.

I was in her position couple years ago. I started to dating other guys to prove something to myself to be honest. It was road through the hell cause I couldn't look at them. My friends use to look at me crazy when I would tell them that immortality was the only thing God recognizes for a divorce....AND that if you sleep together at some point-you now have forgiven him and must continue in your marriage. People really do not understand that when He states that He "Hates a divorcing"-He means just that.

He wants us not to give up. Now, I was married to an abusive cheater and eventually, I did sleep with him again--and not out of want-so, it was a sketchy situation to handle from a secular and theocratic standpoint. However, the one thing I know for certain is that God will ALWAYS make a way out for you. He will not allow us to go through more than what we can bare (1 Corinthians 10:13) I really felt doomed at that time. But, I kept praying and not long after I found a video in our house, in which he had recorded himself having sex with different women on our couch!
