Welcome to Edible Thoughts Makes. My name is Stephanie (she/her/hers). In this video I chat about a make-along I'm hosting in the first quarter of 2024! It's the #MakeItAgainMAL2024 and encourages you to make something you've made before! Maybe you're tweaking something for a better fit. Maybe you're making a different size or color or using a different yarn or fabric. I invite you to play and explore and be creative! One pattern can be a canvas for a multitude of experiences and end results.
No fine print. Works-in-progress are fine. Official start date is January 1st and runs through March 31, 2024. Use the hashtag on Instagram to see what others are making again.
At this time, I'm not sure about participation prizes. Not planning on physical items because shipping costs could get prohibitive. Possibly gifting patterns. We shall see!

What a great idea for a MAL! I have several patterns (knitting & sewing) that I’ve made more than once, but change up each time. Count me in!

Stephanie, this is so up my alley. I love making patterns again and again. And, like you, changing up garment and/or sleeve length, neckline, colors, etc. Hopefully my cast will come off in time to knit something. I'm already thinking about a third Soldatna. This is fun!!!

I'm in! Been thinking the past 2 days about my next sweater project now that all my Christmasgift knitting is over. May try unspun for the first time ever, and maybe use it to make another Ranunculus or Felix. Great timing for the MAL

Yay! I need to finish my Sheep Camp sweater. I made one for my MIL but never finished mine.
Oh this sounds like the motivation I need to remake my Paper Birch sweater! I loved knitting it but the yarn was a little too drapery so it came out a little big.. would like to try it in a more structured yarn! Can’t wait to find some yarn!!

Sounds like fun, perfect timing too. I nearly never remake anything,. I crocheted a baby blanket a while ago for a work colleague who was expecting a baby, my now pregnant daughter inlaw had seen me working on it has asked "Can you make me one too?" I'm making it again, thankfully I really enjoyed making it and still have enough leftover handdyed yarn to replicate it.

Suggestion for your make-again. Building Blocks Drop vest by Aimee Sher, knitted in another color of Hedgerow yarn, and this time in waist length.
You can if you want to! I don’t currently have plans to do that.
Great idea, I’m on my 4 Tolsta tee by the Creabea Rebecca Clow. I’m looking to try your recommendation, coloring book tee by Aimee Sher. I’m still looking for a top down well fitting cardigan to make in multiple colors.

Seriously thinking about this. I have been wanting to make another Love Note Sweater, so I may do that. But I’m also working on my second 1/2 and 1/2 wrap triangle shawl by Purl Soho. So I’ll have two entries! Such fun.
hi Stephanie, sorry I didn't IG .... and have been really absent lately. I've been battling some stuff and finally feel well enough to knit again. I did make it again in spirit with you. I did the Ardleigh hat by Kat Gagnon Osborn. I had made one for myself, then the second was for my sister, and then have a 3rd cast on for a cousin! Such a fun idea! I'm also making a second soldotna for myself haha...didn't get to finish it yet. I'm making a matching 3rd one for my niece so we can be purple twinsies.

Hello, in my humble opinion KALs don’t need to have a prize because the awards are the finished object, the fun to share our experience with others.
I feel uncomfortable with prizes because I feel I am in a competition and I feel obliged to meet the deadline.
I just began to watch your vlog (3/4 episodes) and it’s very interesting. I like the ideas to knit the items with modifications to fit better, the books reviews and the food photos 😊
One question : you mentioned in one of the podcast the nido shawl from handknitbykam. I would like to knit cowls from this designer, so what are your thoughts about her patterns? Thank you

Kam is a friend of mine! She's very sweet. I tested the Greca cowl designed by her in 2021. I found it an easy-to-follow pattern in instructions and lay-out and an enjoyable pattern to knit.
