- Susan Tedeschi performs "Just Won't Burn" at the Farm Aid concert in Bristow, Virginia on September 12, 1999.
Farm Aid was started by Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp in 1985 to keep family farmers on the land and has worked since then to make sure everyone has access to good food from family farmers. Dave Matthews joined Farm Aid's board of directors in 2001.

Susan just shreds on guitar with class and her vocal skills are unmatched by no other female that can do both like Susan can. You see this in her facial expressions that comes straight from her heart and soul. How blessed we are to witness and enjoy this bluesy soulful soul.
Nothing like listening to a musician having a conversation with their guitar.
I've been in love with Susan's voice for nearly 40 years! I remember her blues back in the 80's, just knocked me out! She's authentic and means it, which is saying a lot today with the glitz and glamour taking the spotlight. Derek's a lucky man and I hope they hold it together forever! So great to see her popularity soar as it has been doing for the last twenty years! Go Girl!

June 2023, first time I heard of her name, and went straight to UA-cam. A bit sorry that I didn't know her long before, She's amazing
I only discovered her about a year ago - and since then I can´t stop listening to her voice.....this lady is just killing it!!!

first saw her at the Riverwalk Blues Festival in Ft. Lauderdale around 1991 or 2. Opening act on Saturday, 10:00am on an already steaming morning, and she was wearing a key lime green sundress. Was also her birthday. Got an autographed CD and got to chat with her for a little while. I attended many of the Riverwalk Festivals over the years, but that remains one of my favorite moments...
when i play her and derek on my bluetooth speaker anywhere i go the response is "wow, who is that"...midnight in harlem has created more fans than free tickets

What an absolutely incredible voice and performance.
Tedeschi Trucks Band is the cure for America, but I will say Derek's and Susan's original bands had quiet and subtle perfection that isn't present in their powerhouse group. I hope those more intimate performances they have given aren't gone forever.

20 years ago NOW ...Susan sings from the deep soul , why she gots' dem blues ..and her fingers make that guitar talk . in 2018 I was fortunate to purchase a ticket up in Jacksonville Arena , Florida and go see the Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi band. they put them all together they didn't let anybody go. An amazing event . if you all want good music you got to get out there and find it and go see these people live before they're gone believe me I've lived long enough to see almost all of them go now we have a whole new crowd of excellent musicians but they don't get much AirPlay because of corporate radio and corporate music venue.

I first heard her in a parking lot at a concert and thought it was Janis but I listened and knew Janis didn't sing that. The car parked in front of us was playing it so I asked who was singing to them and they showed me the cd box. Wow! It was Susan.

She is STILL a stunning woman. Derek makes her happy, and as long as those two are happy - we get to hear all their music! So we get a win too!
Met her in Quincy at Joes place after a solo gig, she was so friendly and personable I was amazed must have been 25 years ago
First heard Susan in about 2000 and was blown away by her voice and uniquely expressive guitar playing. And yes I was crushing on her a bit. ;o). So glad she and Derek found each other. Two powerful talents with hearts of gold.
Though this is from '99 Farm Aid, this is one of Susan's best performance during those years. Her talent is platinum!!
Though I love her with Derek...so nice to see people come together that are so good together,! But her solo stuff had a beautiful ache....

So refreshing to see someone on stage displaying beauty and talent with a simple and elegant presentation. Solid Gold all the way; all attention on her musicianship. Wow! This girl can sing, and play. What a voice. Missed this for years.

I saw tedeschi in Tucson with her husband derek and both bands. All them musicians masters of their instruments trying to meld y knit sound quilt. Great stuff but early.

Heretic have you heard Pink sing Etta James ? Thats the best out there ! Anne Wilson of Heart's cover of Stairway to Heaven, a close 2nd. Bonnie Raitt's a much better guitarist, singer, songwriter. Probably more talented than all of them. Susan is in the top 10 in the world, & thats pretty damn good ! Bonnie was awesome in the 70's... Probably before Susan was born.

Susan is the closest entertainer/musician to Janis I know of. She puts heart and soul into her work. I'd like to hear her do a Joplin songbook. Piece of my heart, Ball & Chain, Them old cosmic blues, and Lord, won't you buy me a Mercedes Benz? Derek (Butch) Trucks began playing with the Allman Brothers Band when he was 13. I heard Janis many times including the last night she was with Big Brother in SF after a Canadian tour. Susan/Derek: a marriage made in Rock & Blues heaven. Many blessings on them. Rock the house!

Yes, she's great, but nowadays, she's unbelievably better. The Tedeschi Trucks Band is something else.
only in the studio. she's gotten raspier which many associate with "better". however, her live performances have gotten much worse. she's lost her ear.
I liked her old band much better. Tedeschi Trucks Band just has too many people. Just too much happening at once, it gets too hectic and sometimes very grating. They could lose maybe three people and be better.
