"What if i told you sometimes i feel like a boy"
*thats okay* 😭😭😭😭
FierceONeill Maybe you’re not aware of the feeling because you’ve never had to question your gender. Those feelings you listed are for all genders. Yes, being masculine or dressing like the stereotypical male doesn’t necessary make you a boy, but trans people just know that they are that gender and if you’re cisgender, then you wouldn’t know how that feels and it’s not right to invalidate someone just because you haven’t experienced what they have.
Sometimes I feel like a boy. Sometimes I am attracted to girls. It is fine, there is nothing wrong with it.
@Vipxr "Congratulations, your baby has born! May I know what gender you'd like your baby to have and identify with?"
How does one simply feel being the opposite gender if that's not what they are physically? Allow me to use a quite basic example.
Imagine yourself as a young boy. You have at least this much indentity. You know that's what you are. A boy.
So you go in your life, carelessly, eating paste, playing with your friends, and doing whatever it is little kids do.
But one day your parents make you wear a dress. Now it's a pretty one. Soft-colored, delicate as a petal, with pretty little patterns all over it. But it's a girls dress.
Your problem isn't with the dress itself, it's what it represents.
You protest, you get angry, maybe even cry, but still you have to wear the dress. After all you shouldn't really argue with your parents at that age.
You go out and you're afraid that people will laugh. Or point fingers. But suprisingly nobody does. And somehow that's the worst thing. Nobody laughs, points fingers nobody thinks it's strange. What they do is they expect you to want this. To associate with this. They get mad or give you a weird look if you don't. They nicely say "Aww, you're growing into a little lady!" and it's somehow even more insulting than mockery. A boy would get laughed at if he wore this. And you know you're a boy. So why do they treat you like a girl?
Things don't stop there. Soon more and more people follow the pattern. They force "girl appropriate" things and behaviors upon you, they refer to you as "she", try to make you believe that's what you are. Your parents sign you up for your schools girls volleyball team. You get comments that you shouldn't even be getting, considering who you believe you are. It feels like someones playing a really mean prank on you, but if you call it out nobody will laugh. They'll just look weirdly and take you for a freak.
You slowly stop trusting yourself to be a boy.. but at the same time the feeling that you are one grows stronger and stronger. You get so anxious and uneasy with how your body looks, with how your close ones treat you with how you seem to be the only one with that problem.
But you were always a boy, right?
Or so you were sure of until you started maturing.
The body that you always trusted, or rather hoped to be male starts developping feminine parts. Your menstrual cycle starts. Your hips get wider, your chest gets bigger.
No. No, no, no, how can this be? This is all wrong! Your own body is betraying you! How can you be a boy if that's not who you were born as? But for Gods sake you can swear that you feel like one. That's how you've always felt.
It's all wrong. It's terrifying. It's depressing.
And that's what it's like
@Vipxr biology and science back up transsexuality, women and male brains do not look the same, and when doctors and scientist have taken a look at for example trans womens brain they see that her brain is a womans brain and not a male brain.
These kids are so respectful

They made the boy at the start look really disrespectful, but he actually had a really non-judgemental discussion. He was just using the prior knowledge he had to talk about it, and seemed open to learning something new :)

=Maygrace= The kid is smarter than this “Non-Conforming” person
Yeah i wish they would've found a better nonbinary person, i don't think they answered the boy very good, i wish i was the one who's talking to that smart boy and explaining him these things
The kid is right. The male is a provider and a protective force while women nurture and create.
I don't think it was disrespectful...he was just stating facts...Men are and will always be stronger than women..but both genders should still treat each other with the same respect

I get frustrated when it becomes this competitive, one-upper thing.

Glad someone pointed this out, although what the kid pointed out about how men had bigger muscle mass doesn’t mean that you can rule out that women didn’t hunt for their own food when they didnt have males around.
I study prehistoric archaeology, and that's actually not true. Yes, there were female hunters, that's true, but they were not the majority. The consensus is still that mainly men do the hunting, not 50-50.

Wish we could have seen more of Willows interview!
As a preschool teacher, most of the time my boys love dress up and my girls love trucks/blocks. Never bat an eye at the situation. Kids are kids. Most of the time the parents were ones who had a hard time with it. They may get older and realize "hey I identify as this" but at a preschool age it is unfair to automatically assume they pick one thing over another because of gender.
Right, younger kids especially you know are new here, they don’t know anything until they see/hear/experience it, so when they play with “boy” or “girl” toys they’re just exploring and experimenting with things. Learning, because they come here knowing basically nothing. Doesn’t necessarily mean they wanna change their gender…. They’re not even thinking about that!
You shouldn't be allowed near children
This should not be for kids.
I'm sorry, but at 3:28 I think the boy (don't know his name) is right. Men are generally stronger and have more muscle mass, that's not something you can talk away... even though of course there are women who are really strong and stronger than men
Juliana Silva it’s not something that’s good to talk about in public, you will get judged. That’s what they stated, so go away.
@Juliana Silva probably because common sense like men are physically stronger than women isn't common anymore
You don’t have to say “I’m sorry” when starting that sentence lol. It’s common knowledge that males have always been stronger than females in general.
It's considered a bold statement today because it's often disputed by the left. If you hold such an opinion you're likely to be labeled as sexist. I don't know many people who follow this opinion with the belief that women and men should be relegated to different roles in society. They just want women to be held to the same physical standards as men for the same jobs.
I also think it's a point that what toy kids choose is more based on what they are told is okay to play with. I'm a female and played with "boy toys." Not because I'm trans or anything. Even if men are stronger I dont think that has ANY connection to what toys you play with or how you want to dress.
Okay so I don't care what anyone identifies as. that's totally their choice and I resepct that. But I don't like the fact that simple biological facts are being ignored. Men gernerally are stronger and more muscular because they produce more testosterone than women. So saying that men are stronger than women isn't sexist or discriminating, but actually a fact. That's also why men were hunters back then instead of women.
That's why I think the boy at 3:07 is on the right path and has a very intelligent way of thinking about this. Props to him.
I think the key is not to exclude women who are also strong. I can agree with the biological factors that make men generally stronger than women, but i think part of why the whole gender thing is an issue is because we are *restricted* to certain roles just because we're a male or a female if that makes sense??
I agree with you
I agree. Women can be strong as well and obviously shouldn't be excluded. I wasn't trying to say otherwise and I'm sorry if that came across like that. I just didn't like the fact that Nanta made it seem as if it was worng for the boy to say that men are biologically stronger than women. I really don't have a problem with people choosing their own gender and identifying differently. I just think that it becomes a problem when they start denying science...
Women also generally have stronger immune systems as well :)
And the X and Y chromosome.
Why are they teaching the kids this stuff it’s getting out of hand

"Why is gender such a big deal?"
"You know, sometimes I wish it really wasn't"
- I feel the same way
It was never a big deal until they made it to be.
1OutofOne Wouldn’t be such a big deal if there weren’t thousands of different ones imo. Seems like a new one comes out every week and obviously people are gonna question it. I think that’s why it’s become a bigger deal
she said that yet she enforces it on herself xD
Haha, gender shouldn't be a big deal, really it shouldn't. But, there will still be people that argue with the biological aspect, that yes, even if you feel that you are astrogender, you are a biological male. Sorry dude, it is what it is
Actually the people who made gender a big deal are the ones who built their governments and their households on mistreating certain genders, who sailed around the world and used violence to stop indigenous societies from believing in third genders in a sociological/spiritual sense.
Kid goes out on a limb:
“Probably because they were stronger.”
limb?
@@Stronhue I think they mean limp
+Jonathan LeBlanc-Technically, yes. And. . .no. Men do develop more muscle mass than women do, so they are superficially more stronger as a result. Immediate physical strength was probably more important with our early ancestors, who assigned roles for the here and now. They weren't necessarily thinking long term, every role that was assigned was meant to ensure immediate survival.
So they missed out that strength can't quite be measured that way just on raw physical dominance. Some people may be fast/more agile than others, and agility allows you to wear out your enemy a lot faster and you can avoid being attacked. Some people are better at defensive, where you keep to defending until your enemy tires out. People still divide boys and girls into separate groups in sports because they believe pitting girls against boys physically is an unfair advantage for the boys. In sports like football and wrestling, I can see why. In certain ways.
However, in sports like basketball or baseball, you need just as much agility, endurance, and defensive as you do with being able to take the shot. Baseball is not a competition of physical strength necessarily, it's about being able to swing the bat and run as fast you can to the finish line.
So it's just not really that modern to keep certain sports and physical gender attributes in tact like that. It would be way more interesting to see sports be more co-ed and see it as a true competition. Basketball certainly. To see it as a true test of different skills and who is able to use their skills the best.
@@feraflauna3238 actually though there is a theory that it was because if something was to happen while hunting, men were more disposable. Let's face it: when you consider if someone was pregnant or nursing, it would make more sense for her husband to go out and perform the riskier behavior than for her to do it. It's just a theory but it could be that during those times, people valued mothers over fathers in terms of what is acceptable risk. (Cause let's be honest hunting back then was dangerous.)

- was there a reason why men were the ones hunting?
- because they were stronger.
- I am strong, what if I want to hunt?
O dear, are you comparing mankind in prehistoric age to your experience of a comfortable society where you take hunting as a game?
On average people with an XY chromosome with high level of testosterone present more muscles that makes it easy to do things where strength is required, such as hunting. No one ever say that women should not hunt, but back in a time when people was literally dying during hunting processes you needed to have to be sure to bring with you the right people which usually mean take with you people with the highest level of physical strength which typically was not women. There was no active discrimination about it it was pure and simple survival thinking and optimization of resources because people was literally dying and not hunting for fun.
3:28 Think about the evolutionary landscape for humans. Obviously men are larger and stronger, but modern science also tells us men, ON AVERAGE, have more fast twitch muscle fibers and have higher levels of hemoglobin in their blood. Men can run faster, jump farther, carry more, shoot and throw farther, etcetera. Average differences have large effects at the extremes-- this means all the best hunters would be effectively guaranteed to be men, because of their physical advantages; women could theoretically hunt for certain periods in their lives, but due to their physical disadvantages in relation to the tasks necessary for hunting, it would be a suboptimal situation. Women, before the birth control pill, menstruated and had unavoidable periods until old age; combine that with the fact of a lack of sanitary bathrooms, no plumbing, no tampons or sanitary napkins, and that makes women's lives much more difficult before modern times. They also had to care for infants, giving them sustenance, which was not optional. At the time, the infant death rate was absurdly high, and that made women's lives much more difficult. A vast amount of time was required staying healthy during pregnancy and giving birth and sustaining the children's lives during early childhood. Hunting was a grueling, arduous, cold, unrelenting, and often necessary task, which involved killing other animals. In fact, I think it's absurd to assume women of the time should have done effectively everything for everyone.

I'm disappointed in a lot of these comments. People act like the kids were forced to be here when they're clearly curious and asking questions. Not like anyone said "you have to be nonbinary". In fact it's the opposite with the comments saying "you have to be binary".

I'm Filipino and I was just gonna mention the concept of "siya"! We don't have gender-specific pronouns here. Basically "siya" is our equivalent of "they/them", and so we're all called by they/them pronouns in our native tongue. 😊
that’s actually so cool :0 wish america had that lol
That’s why my dad gets he/she mixed up all the time lmao
But do Filipino have gender roles?

Wow, these kids are smarter then a lot of adults in this topic.
She feels more like a boy?
How does she know what being a boy feels like?
It’s sad how kids are more accepting than adults
being an adult isn't easy, that's why when we have enough we all wish to go back to being kids
Well kids are growing up seeing these kinds of people being accepted in society so they learn to accept them adults are going to be less accepting as it’s something they didn’t grow up learning about as well and were probably taught to ridicule or make fun of people like this
@@justsomeguy1014 ...It still isn't ok, but I get your point.

I used to watch this channel all the time, I've come back to this video because I've just figured out that I'm nonbinary. I cried when Crystal said "that's okay". It reminded me of coming out to my best friend yesterday. I was scared because I hadn't told anyone yet. She'd known me my whole life, and I just felt like everything would change once she knew. Her reaction was "cool, what pronouns?", then after a short conversation she gave me a hug and told me how valid I am. And that was all I ever needed to know that everything was going to be okay.
I love how mature these kids were.
Especially Brianna. She handled things like an adult.

what’s so wrong about knowing how the world works
@@caidensexy this is not how the world works at all
@@mucheq5386 yeah it is? teaching people when they’re young about how they can be pretty much whatever they want to
By not exposing kids to different types of people when they're young, you're setting them up to be close minded. This isn't brainwashing, it's learning tolerance. Everybody in this society could benefit from some.
@@caidensexy You can't be non-binary because hermaphrodites don't exist in the human species
Children speak the truth! Confused people want other people to be equally confused.
Exactly!!
What
Just live your private life & keep your own council. Asking the the rest of the world to validate your personal life is clearly attention seeking behavior. I asked my adult daughter what would be a universally good alternative to all these completely unnecessary labels. She said just refer to everyone unknown to you intimately as " this person & they"; such as in the work place & anyone outside of family. That way it isn't the world's responsibility to remember confusing labels. I seriously have difficulty remembering people names & I always have. I except all people w/o labels please!
My, you are the most confused one if anything.
This was a very good video. I find myself still struggling with understanding the non-binary side of gender, so this is actually very nice to hear for me too. These kids are so attentive! They beat me by several miles.
They've been brainwashed!!!
@@organicmamajones2743 What??
Some of us grew up without gender non-conformity on our radar. My firstborn and I share tomboy tendencies, but I always felt Right as a female. When they came out as non-binary as a young adult, I figured my job was to be supportive, wether I "got it" or not.
Incidentally, the Talmud even acknowledges 6 genders (including"both" and"neither.")

When I hit puberty, I started growing thick body hair, started having physically male characteristics, and genuinely wanted to be a boy. I felt like a boy. I did “boy” things. I hated dresses. I hated (and still do) hate make up. But I did want to be a mother one day. I’ve always been very “maternal”. It was genuinely like I was both male and female. Turns out I have PCOS and the male characteristics both physical and mental were explained by me having an extremely high level of testosterone. I have a theory that many people who feel like the opposite gender or both genders may have a hormonal imbalance.
"hormonal imbalance" be careful what you say or they'll be knocking down this wall lmao
I agree, it usually goes away as they age
@@markduchaney2453 lol what do you mean?
I honestly don't know that much about hormones. But some kids can already feel like they're not their assigned gender years before they hit puberty. I'm talking about 5 year olds. Isn't puberty when testosterone first appears on someone's body?
@@MasterHackerChannel If you're talking about the kids feeling like they're a different gender, then no, it typically doesn't go away. If the feelings (gender dysphoria) continue into puberty, then it's most likely permanent and the only "solution" to put them in a better mental and physical state is transitioning.

“Is there a reason why the men hunted?”
Yes, because the women were raising children. (I’ll be describing most hunter-gatherer tribes, not all here. There are a few matriarchal tribes in history, too and they’re fascinating!) It was a different time with a different infant survival rate, and if the early hunter-gatherer tribes wanted to survive, they needed to bear children. The theory is that at the beginning, the roles were equal. But as hunting became more important to survival as a day-to-day thing, the men became more “superior” in these tribes. They began to have more of a say in the community, and bearing/raising children became second place to the hunting and home farming that the women would do, particularly when the tribe had begun to deplete resources.
Just an interesting fact. Xandor’s a smart cookie but the way that question and the response to it was framed, it made it seem like there was no reason why the men hunted and the women didn’t.
Love this video!
But it's scientifically proven that males are physically strong. But it doesn't mean they are better than females. Both males and females have their pros and cons.no one is superior
@@Human0904 exactly! agree with all these!
