I started reading Conan in my teens back in the 70s by the time the Conan the Barbarian movie came out friends would be telling me about Conan I'd say you need to read the Robert E Howard stories.
They have never gotten Conan right either. His personality is completely different than they put in the movies. He was a successful thief, pirate, mercenary, soldier, general and eventually a King of the most powerful nation in his time. He had a certain honor and shrewdness and intelligence with unsurpassed strength. Conan fought evil no matter where and when and of course the ladies thought pretty highly of him.
My most favorite is by far, Solomon Kane. I remember reading stories of him in Conan the Barbarian comics, back in the early 80's, when i was a teenager. I loved the 2009 movie, it was a pleasant surprise, i have never thought that he was a popular character before that. Unfortunately we didn't get more movies of his adventures.
I was a mad Conan comic fan when I was younger. The movie did the comics some justice. Later versions of the comic, and the movie sequels were, at best, disappointing.
Probably because there is not much in the way of art for the vid, oh and of course the Holy Church of Woke would never approve of such an obvious white saviour figure.
The literary Conan did not have a "good heart", he operated entirely out of self-interest. He just happened to wind up at odds with some extremely bad guys and ended up killing them.
A lot of these characters besides Conan and Red Sonja should get movie and animated series adaptations someday. I can picture a Gendy Tartakovski animated Conan series for adult swim, and a Powerhouse animation animated Dark Agnes series for Netflix someday. I know there’s a Red Sonja movie coming up.
In Roy Thomas's introduction to Red Sonja 1 Ring of Ikribu, he quotes a Fred Blosser article mentioning Red Sonya of Rogatine several times, not Rogatino. Would my edition be a misprint, or is Wikipedia spreading misinformation? Nice video, but I'm disappointed you left out, Brule, Kull's Pictish companion.

In Savage Sword of Conan, there’s a Kull story called Death and Taxes. Such a great story.
