    my next harley will be one of these. I've test ridden 2, and love the bike a lot. best handling stock Harley I've ever ridden. gives me the feeling of power and lean angle a bike should have. I routinely drag hard parts on my SG and Fat Bob but not this bike. I left metrics 6 years ago for Harley and I've missed being able to ride hard in the turns the way I like to do it. this bike is a game changer for guys like me who want a Harley but also want something that can turn fast. I watched a video earlier of a Pan Am hitting 125 on Laguna Seca... awesome bike can't wait to own one.

    As an owner of a 2022 Pan Am Special, I'm happy with it, but I think it is more road than off road. I've taken it on rough off road tracks and it will do it, but it is too heavy. I have 45 years experience at riding, lots of years doing motocross and enduro, and if you want to go off road, you need a smaller bike, 450 to 500cc and under 200kg. I love my bike, I ride practically everyday, 90% road and some off road. The bike does need some mods, like different seat (I refused to get Harley Davidson's seat upgrade, if they have a better seat, they should fit it as standard), rear rack with more than 5kg weight limit, real barkbusters not silly plastic ones that come off on the first hit, and bigger off road foot pegs. The crash bars are very good, they save the bike very well when you drop it off road.

    Sounds like you love the PA! My brother has 9K on his PA already and he likes it better for long trips than his previous 2016 Street Glide. The only thing he misses is the radio, he likes everything else about the PA better.

      Couldn’t agree more. The radio would be nice but I do have it in my helmet.

    I think that overall it’s a positive review of the bike… love it!
    There are aspects of most bikes that will annoy us, the key is to have the positives outweigh the negatives considerably. 😉✌️

    That sounds like a good trip, I rode through that part of the country on my '03 Night Train in 2008 and loved it. I'm leaving for a 2000+ mile trip on my 2021 Pan Am in two days in Eastern Canada - Cabot Trail in Nova Scotia, over to Newfoundland up the West coast through Gros Morne National Park to the Viking site in L'Ance Aux Meadows. I really dislike the stock seat, I find it too soft. I'm going to get a Corbin but it wasn't in the budget this year.
    Ride safe out there.

    I had to replace my wind screen. I towed it {Motow} backwards and the mounts broke off, so I just put a Madstad windscreen on it and that replaces all the cheap thin plastic stuff with metal. I will ride tomorrow and see how it feels. I rode to Arizona and back to Va with those tires. At highway speed, I couldn't even hear my headset from the road noise and that made for a boring ride. The knobbies kicked ass in Moab. I now have Motoz Tractionator GPS tires on it. They did great on my recent ride to Prudo Bay. A little too good, the front kicked so much of that fine silty mud into the radiator, and I had to stop every 20 miles and throw buckets of water on the radiator just so it wouldn't overheat. I do have the fuel pump whine when I power up and my FOB went out today. Other than that, the bike really does great.

    Colin make yourselves a custom mode, I have A Mode with Sport, Throttle Max, Engine Braking max, Suspension Comfort
    It makes a huge difference how the bikes goes and the comfort suspension is much better as deals with the tough roads

    HD should consider putting that (or similar) steering damper on other models, how damn good and stable does it make the steering, just fantastic. I put the Sundowner seats on mine - my wife and I find it much more comfie. The Madstad windshield system is much better/super solid/more usable and so clear. The downside is that you can't adjust the height of the Madstad windshield while riding but I'm OK with that given it is superior in every other respect. My next set of tyres will be Dunlop Trailmax Mission, they are a 70/30 tyre (compared to the stock 80/20) but from just many reviews, they are suppose to be more closer to a 50/50 off-road.

    • @Broncoride
      @Broncoride  2 роки тому

      That’s a great idea with the steering. On my next set, I will probably do 70/30. Just need a tire that is best of both and that’s difficult.

    Any issue having to deal with the chain on an actually tour? I see one of the biggest issues with any ADV bike as tires. There is no way around it, if you expect any type of tire performance in one type of condition, you are going to sacrifice in another.

    • @Broncoride
      @Broncoride  2 роки тому

      Not so far. I just clean every 600 miles or so but working well. I agree on the tires. There isn’t a perfect tire.

    Yeah, it's a 3 hour seat, 3 hours and then I got to get off. I'm looking at the Corbin seat, I've had them on two other bikes and I can go almost 9 hours on those. I took a trip from Hampton to Avon NC, (OBX) and I was in pain when I got home.

    So between your street glode and pan america, if you had a more comfortable seat which bike is more comfortable for a long trip like that? From a comfort point of view.

    • @Broncoride
      @Broncoride  2 роки тому

      Hard to answer. If the PA had that same comfort like the SGS on a long-term ride, I’d ride the PA. Saying that, absolutely nothing wrong with the SGS. My main reason I wanted to ride the PA long distance was I wanted to do several non-street roads. Come to find out that I enjoyed doing street just as much on the PA vs the SGS. The PA is just so much fun to ride.

    • @triumphrider9796

      I thought that was the direction from the short piece of it in the video. I've done it both ways (twice from Mountain City, three times from the Bristol end), I think I prefer it from the Bristol side but great fun both ways. It was repaved a few years ago, first time I ever rode it was on the older pavement, and it was wet to boot!
