As an ISFP a lot of the time I feel like I don't necessarily belong anywhere. I have a hard time relating to other sensors in that I want a deeper connection and meaning to my interactions and I don't feel fulfilled with just talking about the new restaurant down the street or what Ashley from work is up to. But at the same time, I can relate to intuitives but find it pretty much impossible to keep up with their conversations. It's like, I want that deeper meaning on paper, but I lack the ability to bring it to reality.
You might want to make it your new year’s resolution to spend more time thinking and not trying to box yourself into any societal boxes while you’re at it. You might want to just let your Ni flow within you.
@@amalksuresh2538 It's difficult for me to think of a concrete example since it's been so long since trying to participate in any in person intuitive conversation. From what I remember, the sentiments are there and I agree with what they are saying, but I lack the ability to quickly think of a good response. That's why it's easier for me to participate in online discussions vs in person. I have the opportunity to fully digest what is said, how I feel about it, and form a well crafter and thought out response.

ISFP here, and "Late" is my middle name. Great video btw! To explain my lateness more, I literally hate HATE set times, rules about time, time frames, ticking clocks and abiding by them - HAAATE!! I feel such anger towards time constrictions, they are pointless, useless and anti productive in my mind. Life would be so much more enjoyable without them. What I believe in is natural rhythm of things. Respect my natural rhythm, and I'm yours 100%.
One of my best and closest friends, I would argue one of the persons in the group I feel most at home with, is I believe an ISFP. Being an ENTP, I feel like my closeness to people is not objectively describable, and therefore not something to really ponder about -- which in a way adds a certain mystique to it; it's there and it's amazing. End of. My ISFP friend however, feels immensely close to me on the basis of our music taste. It's more than that, but he definitely communicates it through our shared music taste . We innitially bonded over having the same taste and I admit, he's the only person I can just go back and forth with posting links to oddball music we enjoy that we know the other will like. I view this very much as a fun and fruitful activity and I do cherish those exchanges very much. But I know that for him, there is a lot of depth to the fact that we enjoy much of the same music (possibly from projecting his Fi-values onto the music through Se). For a long time I felt like it was shallow on his part to, in essence, see our friendship as a playlist of left-field music. But when I thought about it, I figured that these sensory experiences carry the same type of depth my conceptions and ideations about things (including music) carry to me. Which was a big eye-opener. This all happened before I delved into Jungian typology, for what it's worth. Pro-iNtuitive bias leads many interested in Jungian typology to look down Sensors. But 'depth' is a much more subjective concept than many would like to consider. And the way Extraverted Sensors ideate and communicate depth is very much legitemate once you try to view the world from their perspective.
+blackholecat Come to think of it, most of my friends are ISFPs. And I just got to the part of the video (I multitask quite well haha) that explains. And this is often the crux of my relationship to ISFPs. They enjoy my capacity to just look at their faces and describe the values and emotions they're experiencing at that moment to the minutest detail, and I accept them and those thoughts. On the other side of the equasion, I love that I do not have to sensor myself around ISFPs. I can be completely myself and even say the most morbid and gruesome things and everyone just laughs (or rolls their eyes haha), which is fairly rare among people.
blackholecat I used to feel I can’t share my music with anybody because they will judge me or they wouldn’t like it because most of the time they aren’t edgy or popular or i feel someone will know my emotions through my songs list so I just share it with closed friends ^^
Of note...., these videos don't really get into it, but a trait of ISFPs can be to express some of their Fi-Ni nature via a sort of archetypal persona chameleon deep exploration of lifestyle and perspective. Like trying on a pair of glasses that lets you see the world a different way. So while the ISFP's Ni is not dominant, it does actively ingage with the ISFP psyche and is very much not dormant. I would argue that it is not just bobbing up here and there but very consistently informing and affecting an ISFPs Se and in turn Fi, feeding data as it were. To this end, you might be able to find further understanding between yourself and your ISFP friends when comparing and contrasting your ENTP wanting to try out new unifying thoughts and theories of the world in discussion, and being very happy to hear another's point of view and *try it on* ti glean further insight, to what I just described in the ISFP nature to *try on* different archetype views as a means to see the world intuitively from different angles. Additionally, because you are both agreeable and curious types, both habe very open and accepting natures. Both encourage other people's views and self expression. That's probably why you make fast friends with ISFPs.
What you were saying about Se and Ni made me realize something....as an ISFP, I feel like a combination of someone earthy, grounded and in the moment, but at the same time, ethereal and daydreamy and kind of introspective. I guess, feeling a little bit like an intuitive type, but not necessarily going about life like an intuitive. Am I right in thinking this may be my Se and Ni?
I have been trying to understand why I was conflicted with constantly being typed as INFP. There was always something that didn’t add up, and this is exactly what that was. I was feeling like an inadequate version of an INFP where this helps me identify my actual functions. So refreshing. I really enjoy being ISFP. I run a bed and breakfast in Zion National Park and sell photography, and it’s kind of similar to the lighthouse example he’s used. I relate to everything in the video. Well done 👍🏼 and a great comment from you.
Having a particular fondness for the ISFP type, I am all too pleased with your examination of this wonderful type. While I will do my best to avoid gushing too much, I find that many of the ISFPs I either personally know or whose works I am familiar with seem to carry with them an intoxicating beauty. They are delightfully idiosyncratic, and whatsmore, they always seem to find the best of ways to manifest their superb uniqueness. Your breakdown of how the cognitive functions work within the ISFP go a long way into explaining why this is so, and for that I commend you. Excellent work!
This is really great. This helps me understand my sibling, who has always been an enigma to me, much better! I really hope INTP is next. That would be a thrill ride. Honestly dude, thank you for putting so much work into these. It's so hard to find such good quality stuff on MBTI.
+Micah Tewers I really happy he put this out too, I've been waiting for so long. Judging from his pattern I would say that he plans to put out ISFJ next, followed by INTP, then INFJ, and finishing with ISTP before moving on to the extraverted types. That's just a guess though.
+Micah Tewers Don't take my word for it though, like I said it's really just a guess. I just noticed that he's doing the introverted types of each of the function axis categories, and beginning with the J types. So he started off with the free spirits and did ISTJ then INFP, then he went to the royals and did INTJ and ISFP. If I'm honest I guess it is just as likely that he moves on the saints as the philosophers. So there's a chance that he does INTP as the last of the introverts.
You show such love and care in your attempt to understand all things you attempt to understand. In that you have earned my respect. This video represents in words something I have never been able to put so eloquently. Not due to my lack of skill with words, far from it. It is my approach to thinking and choosing the words I say that I have a hard time expressing the full meaning of. So to speak.
I find this is one among the very few best and quality descriptions I've heard. I've listened to a few videos, read a few sites; some are either too stereotypical or too personal/mainly based on someone's experiences-esp. the videos. I like a balance of gathered information based on theory and experiment, and personal experience-based information. Everyone needs more room when it comes to personally describing them. The test is not meant to do this. It is meant to discuss our stronger/more dominant functions and how that can play out. This description from you didn't attempt to be personal or opinionated/dogmatic (ex:...XXXX hates abstract ideas and always strives to live in the moment, and loves negative emotions-yes-according to some, all ISFP's actually prefer negative emotions over positive...). ??? Not me! An ex. of a better statement that describes someone like me would be: an ISFP operates more easily, and typically enjoys, more practical/ hands on things as opposed to theory, conceptualizing, etc. Abstraction is not as easy to use or understand, however it is not foreign or hated. Maybe by some?... The functions here that are discussed by you are very clear and I am able to understand more about how this system works- thanks to you! : )
I'm glad you mentioned that it's not all forms of expression that are difficult for the ISFP to articulate (just the most important to them). I've found that ISFPs are articulate in a really interesting way. And I'm really struggling for a word to describe it. It's like a "gentle discernment" is as close as I can get for now.
I understand what you mean because I've been told the same a lot. I've been told that I can see through peoples intentions however good or bad making myself a good judge of character
ISFP here! Wonderful to finally see someone with such an in-depth understanding of the inner workings of the type. I've always noted the difference you pointed out between the "styles" of ISFP and INFP but had difficulty putting into words, so I was giddy watching that segment of the video. Fantastic work.
I like how the INTJ video frequently references ISFPs and this video frequently references INTJs. As someone who has these mutual four functions but isn't super strong or weak on them (like too Fi for INTJ but too Te for ISFP compared to internet stereotypes for those types) it's like seeing both of the competing sides of yourself.
Pretty good! I have a different experience with the conflict between Se and Ni, however. I grew up in a religious environment that ended up discouraging me from valuing my present experience and pleasures and pressured me to keep rethinking (and overthinking) everything I thought, said, and did. So I ended up overdeveloping my Ni and getting into Fi-Ni loops almost _constantly_. I'm realizing now that I end up avoiding that part of my mind by sitting on the computer or doing something mindless and fun, which sounds a lot like Se trying to bail me out of the loop. Now, I've found that my Se is rather undeveloped and I'm just now starting to apply it to as many things as possible, especially when interacting with people. It allows me to appreciate my friends so much more. tl;dr - I'm an ISFP who developed in a way that Ni would control my behavior in the form of Fi-Ni loops. So, opposite of what Michael said. I've just now begun redeveloping my Se.
Having a hard time telling if my husband is an INFP or an ISFP. The revisited video was not him, but everything else seems quite close. Gets lost in thought (Walter Mitty) Super easy going. Great at conversations but an introvert. Will sometimes just disappear without letting anyone know. But super kind and humble. Often passed over. Not super intellectual or logical, but enjoys puzzles, inventory, wood working. Loyal. So few people know him well. He’s usually misunderstood but nearly everyone likes him. He’s not judgemental. Horrible at flirting!!!! Quite youthful. Totally clueless when people try and manipulate. He just expects people to be straight up.
@@stevenlaczko8688 an INFPs probably wouldn't expect people to be straight up, they are secretive and so tend to project that on others. I wouldn't bet on them to be clueless when manipulated although they could be, depends on if they've been burned by it. INFPs can also be quite judgmental If they haven't taken the time to hear the person out.
Michael let all your videos happen in your own time, Michael Angelo didn't rush, but then he is a turtle. Seriously though these are fine fruits of your labor thank you for your contributions of higher understanding Michael.
I'm excited to see the INFJ, INTP, and ENFP videos! I've never really considered the dichotomy between Se and Ni in the ISFP.. interesting stuff. Great video by the way!
Jeezus Christ Michael, this video was pretty good. >:( As a Ni dominant with an addiction problem, what you said at 14:55 resonated quite strongly with me.
Amazing video! I probably checked out your channel every day for the past month to see if you had uploaded this video yet and it was well worth the wait. I strongly relate to the description you've given and it's always a treat to hear someone use just the right words to describe the hazy perceptions of the world which make up who I am. Thanks for taking time out of your busy schedule to create yet another masterpiece for your viewers. I assure you, it's much appreciated :)
Thank you for taking the time to clarify the inner workings of ISFP. As one myself I couldnt have articulated it better. You picked up some nuances heretofore unknown to me. Appreciate it. 🌹
My friend is isfp, I am infp. We both have artistic ways to express ourselves, she through painting and dancing, me through philosophy and poems. I’ve somehow sensed that we are very much alike on the inside but that we often clash on the outside due to her not being as clownish as me or me not being as grounded as her. It’s like a can’t live with/ can’t live without friendship, we simultaneously get and don’t get each other. It’s made me quite confused sometimes wondering why we’re not as close as we should be but maybe we need a person more different from ourselves to compliment our introverted nature.
@@godhuliroy8585 I've since learned that I too am ISFP. It's weird. For me, before, I saw the isfp as someone very archetypically like my friend. Someone quite "zen", grounded, in the moment, who isn't afraid of experiencing the world by travel and who is clearly artistic. Ofc these are heavy stereotypes. But I do remember being very excited about the external world and unafraid of it as a child, before I experienced social trauma and therefor changed into an unhealthy Isfp. That is isolating myself and always seeing bad outcomes. Neither can I get full access of Se since I due to a sport injury have a really bad knee which constantly brings me down to dark thoughts. I confused the bad side of an isfp with an average infp. but tell me about your friend dynamic between Ne and Se! Are either of you a stereotypical version or is it sometimes hard to tell you apart?
I’m an ENTP. What you said about being very different on the outside but very similar on the inside is very true about me and my ESTP friend. Most likely due to the fact that both our judgement axis’ are in the exact same position (secondary Ti and Tertiary Fe)
Michael, I have been subscribed to your channel for a long time and must say that you pack more information with the cleanest presentation in regards to mbti content available on UA-cam. I generally reference your videos as the starting point for anyone who is interested in diving deep in jungian psychology. I'm also very impressed with the in depth approach you are taking with the types in your revisits. I wouldn't have imagined you'd have been able to flesh out types more thoroughly than your original videos. As such, I'm curious to know how you sequence what will be the next video, or if you don't concern yourself with the next video until the previous is complete. As an ENTP, I'm anxiously awaiting to see how much more your revisit will shed light. Not to rush you, I understand how life is, just wanted to say I'm personally anxious for that one. I'm also curious what you may have in store for after the Revisits (or during if possible). I've been very curious about the differences between Fi and Ti, both being subjective judging functions. Rarely are those two compared instead of their extraverted counterparts - but I think it would be wonderful to have your insight and presentation on that - or even just each cognitive function in general. The functions themselves are fascinating but it's very rare they each get their own attention. would you consider videos of that nature?
Thank you for making me feel good about my type, and explaining each part of the type. Wonderfully indepth, well done! It would be interesting if you could do an video on how the instincts and characteristics of each type effects mental health. I.e.: why some types are more in danger of suffering from different mental illnesses, how each type can be helped by using their type's strengths, etc. Just a thought 😊
I think I am an ESFP but I'm not sure, because I really relate to having inner images in my mind that are intuitive, yet I am quite realistic and in touch with my external sensory experience.
i am isfp and now i have reuma. the biggest challenge now is how to make something. like knitting or painting or annything i like. my hands hurt and my knee hurts. so frustrating. Frida kahlo was isfp too. 8:51 yes that is so true.
+Matuvo Namiikaze I haven't completely settled on an order, but so far I've gotten requests for nearly every remaining type...so its kind of a moot point to make requests. Glad to be back, by the way! Glad to hear from you again!
Michael Pierce ok thanks^^ I had this great idea, I know it may be quite touchy to sensitive folk but i think it would still be awesome, and can also only be pulled off by someone with much skill. You could create a series of all the types in their Backwards, or villainous state, in other words describe them opposite, point out the type's typical bad points, and maybe just a few good ones. How you seem to do right now is; go over each function in the stack, talking about how it expresses in the type, -in mostly good ways- and then for the last function you point out maybe one or two (potentially) negative trait that this inferior function causes in the type, like infps imagining, but sometimes not doing, because of weak Te. well i was thinking you could do it backwards, point out the negative aspects of what the functions will do for a type (like enfps being sometimes unreliable due to exploratory Ne) and then for the last function, point out how this weak one often merits a specific good trait in the type. like ifps becoming relatively unstoppable when their passion is strong due to their weak Te making them determined beyond rationality (seen this so many times, its a classic for hero characters in desperate situations) Its OK if you already too busy or not sure if you could pull it off without tipping too many people, but I still think it would be so cool, from experience I know it often helps you break a bad habit when you know many others relate ^^ Welcome back and thanks again! ;)
One point of clarification I'd like to add: you mentioned that ISFPs are not as inclined to impose structure on the world as INFPs are, citing the difference as a result of Ne vs. Se. While I'm not disagreeing, I want to point out that the imposition of structure is not something that Ne itself does, but is rather a consequence of Ne's abstract, possibility generating nature. Both sensation functions can come across as a lot more stable than intuition; intuition is naturally flighty and disorganized because it does not filter its perceptions at all. In a weird way, intuitives sort of see everything. Sensation has a filter simply based on the fact that it is sensation--it perceives concretely. It might not be incorrect to say that ISFPs simply do not perceive the external world as intensely as INFPs do, or that at least their perceptions are not intense in the same way. The structure that you are talking about is a necessary adaptation of xNxP (and I'd bet that, more specifically, this is true of INxPs) types in dealing with their sporadic and crazy Ne perceptions; they must impose structure, otherwise they would be totally crazy and neurotic (like us Ni-doms :P). Hence, they likely use their judging functions in this way more often than an xSxP would.
Certainly. My take on Se on more toward the Socionics definition of using the five sense, but also applying force of will. Ne is generations possibilities, wheras Se is more action oriented. Te is equally weak in both of them.
Of course. My original claim was rooted not so much in their self-assertion, but a necessary adaptation of the INFP to manage the volume of information they absorb from the outside world (much like what Pierce said in the video about what the ISFP's inner world is like). They may not necessarily impose themselves on others like ISFPs would, if what you are suggesting is correct, but would likely be more structural towards their ideas and perceptions because they would have to access their judging functions to manage their perceptions. The way it was said in the video made it sound like structure was part of extraverted intuition itself, which most Jungians would know to be untrue. I was more speaking to their inner cognitive state than how they behave in the world, although the INFPs I know tend to be much more assertive than the ISFPs I know. But my sample size is limited there, so I won't try and make a statement about their overall disposition towards others.
I was just typed today as an ISFP by Gray from #augmentedpersonality so I have been researching and this video has made so much clear to me. You explained the functions and their dynamics in a way that accurately describes my processes. Thank you!
Im an ISFP (or INFP???) and I HATE too much time focus. It really stresses me out. I had to really come up with a strategy to be able to make it on time to meetings. Still not sure if im INFP or ISFP but this video helped me understand more about the differences. Im now leaning more to ISFP since Im more focused on the outer world than the inner and I have a strong need for self expression and getting reqognition.
You make isfps sound like they are harnessing the power of an exploding star or some shit lmao. (Tbh, they kinda are) when I draw, I am told that they are almost depictions of some kind of vision I saw, and then I kind of get carried away with layering it with aesthetics lol, truth is I did. It's like fleeting light, and it leaves me in such aw that I don't think anyone can understand me without first understanding that. Like a feeling, with all the shifting shapes and colors in an order than makes you feel something new... In this universe nothing can be created nor destroyed, but honestly, those feelings, those specific tones, they are new. The way you perceived those things are truly different from anything.
These videos are so great and helpful; most people don't cover cognitive functions. Do you think that you could revisit the ENFJ soon please? Thank you and have a wonderful day!
+Spit it out Well, you can check out my other videos that talk about Ni. My Revisiting the INTJ video talks a lot about Ni, and my Ne vs. Ni video from a while back may be useful.
+Spit it out At it's simplest, Ni is a mental habit that seeks to find the essence of a thing, the core point of it, the heart of the matter. Not in a Thinking kind of way where you'd write a definition, but rather as a felt sense of "this is it". These feeling-tones of things are usually best nailed down or defined by stating analogies or metaphors that catch the same core point, and usually best communicated to others in that way as well. If you want to spot Ni communication, at least INTJs tend to start with a conclusion and then start piling on examples and metaphors that try to build up the point into something solid and defined. A Ti type would have the reverse process: State a premise, and start exploring what necessarily follows from that premise. They deal in definitions and ironclad rules rather than feeling-tones, but Ni+Te and Ti+Ne minds tend to work somewhat similarily.
Great work as always! Can I ask a quick question of you Michael? In these videos you seem to focus heavily on the nature of the tertiary function. Could you give us your opinion on the so called dominat-tertiary loop? It would seem especially important in these introverted types.
+Joshua Scrivner I've been thinking about that -- just as a preliminary opinion, I do think that the dominant and tertiary seem to have a relationship that is rather different than the dominant and auxiliary, so that a person tends to identify most with their dominant and tertiary rather than dominant and auxiliary -- at least in a few cases I've seen the auxiliary actually become a source of frustration or even shame when the tertiary is valued more, even though the auxiliary generally trumps. But as for a *loop*, I haven't really seen the mechanics of a loop in people; I hear people describe it but it just hasn't really seemed to work or be an actual thing. But I haven't *really* looked into it, either, so take that as you will.
+Michael Pierce Thanks for your opinion. I'll admit that I haven't given the issue so much though either, but I do have a couple of observations. The first thing I noticed is that the dominant and tertiary functions constitute a "complete" pair of rational and irrational functions with the same attitude. The same also holds true of the auxiliary and the inferior. Therefore, I think it might be useful to think of the dom/tert and aux/inf pairs as constituting different introverted/extroverted "modes" of thinking within each type, and the preferred mode will correspond to the overall orientation of the type. The so called "loop" might then be an excessive enchantment with the primary "mode" of thought at the expense of the opposing "mode." So a type in one of these loops might be tempted to both perceive and make judgements on data purely on the basis of objective or subjective criteria depending on the type. Take the sister types INFJ and ENFJ as an example. An INFJ in an Ni-Ti loop might be so focused on ensuring that their grand visions are logically consistent that they eschew the desire of their extraverted "mode," Fe-Se to conform those ideas to widely accepted moral sentiment and manifest them in reality. The ENFJ in an Fe-Se loop might be so concerned effecting moral change in the here and now that they eschew the desire of their introverted "mode," to produce a logically consistent vision, and may therefore be prone to taking actions that are short sighted or nonsensical. I don't know if this is a useful concept, but it seems pretty reasonable on the surface.
Loving the new videos, and many of your other videos, but your voice overs for the videos seem to have loud sibilants when you say words with S or SH in them. I do a lot of work with audio and music, so I wasn't sure if you were aware of those noises. Keep up the great content :) I really like how in depth you go, but when I show my friends or family they get confused with all the cognitive functions :p
I believe the sibilants can't be reduced even in a free audio editing software like Audacity, with microphone pop filters, or even how far it is from your face
+jayzupp Yeah, I've actually looked into trying to get rid of those noises. Most of my work is done in Audacity, and even there its not really possible. I just have a bit of a whistle between my teeth, unfortunately.
oh yeah oops, "can be reduced"* or should I say, "probably can be reduced"? :p try a 6" or more distance from the mic maybe, it has to do with something called the 'inverse square law'. it's only really noticeable when I listen to your videos on my phone while at work or while cooking. Not sure my type (INFP or INTP? depends on the day) but I watch all of your videos :) it's awesome understanding how people think, and it helps me too
+jayzupp Sweet! I'm glad you've found them so useful! That's really good to hear, glad I could help! I'll take a look at what you said here about reducing the whistling and such -- I would like to see what I can do.
Please place a Ti Dom sooner in your queue. I cannot decide rather I'm ntp or stp and with every video I come a little closer. My problem is that I'm sensitive to new information especially anomalies. I noticed you have great insight on these things so I'm trying to wait patiently for the next video but I really need this. I have a thirst for typology and not many people can dig into it with accuracy the way I've felt that you can.
+Damien Carter I'm flattered sir, glad I could be of help! In the mean time, have you viewed my function axes videos? The perceiving axis video would be the determiner between NTP and STP, where NTP has Ne/Si and STP has Se/Ni. ua-cam.com/video/aG8ii-2hhEQ/v-deo.html
+Kari Kiri Thanks -- ISTP will come along as soon as possible...but I can't promise when that actually will be. But it will come along, no doubt there.
+Vince Yutuc I'M ALIVE!!!! I'M ALIVE!! -------- yeah sorry for the long wait again. I've just had a lot of things lately I've needed to deal with. Thank you for the concern though. I will hopefully have the next revisit out soon. Its for the ENTP
Hi. Have you ever thought of rejecting the typology theory? Especially in MBTI. Or introversion-extroversion? Have you ever thought that those thing don't actually exist?
Michael Pierce I'm not really disenchanted with the theory. I see introverts and extroverts, I know the type of some people around me like my mom, she really is an ESFJ, my sister is really ESTP, and I can't type my dad. Some people don't seem to fall in any type, or atleast they fall between two types. Some people I can't even tell if introvert or extrovert. I always used to believe I'm an introvert, but now I'm having second thoughts. Is that because I'm an INTP? Haha. I can also relate to the ENTP personality. Oh I can talk forever. Maybe I should learn more.
Are you sure you are an INTP? Or mistype? A good man knows that one isn't just naturally more than one, it either comes over time or you are comfused. You may be an INFP. -INTP
The way the message is conveyed makes the video difficult to understand. I feel like I cannot perceive your chunks of information clearly. It's as if there are no full-stops or separations in your speech (had to rewind several times to make sense at times). Something to keep in mind when making a another video.
Michael Pierce Because the isfp is "self contained" so doesn't need the outside world for creativity or style when the infp "needs" the outside world for these things, to create. Also isfp style is coherent, they easily adapt to the environment around them and are thus more easygoing and likable than the infp. And they look (and feel?) less alien.- according to your analysis. If that is true, it sounds like it would be better to be an isfp than infp, also in relation to others, and with that, quality of life.. am I wrong?
+j5hp Consider that you have just made a number of normative statements: why is looking to the outside world for things somehow bad? Some people are very interested in the outside world, and they enjoy it. Why is having a more unique and personal style somehow bad? Some people care about their own style, some people don't. Why is being more easygoing somehow better? Some people don't care whether or not they're easygoing, it's just not important to them. Really what you've said is, "ISFP's align more with my own values and priorities." (Perhaps you are one?) But you ought to consider that other people might not care about the same things you do, and those people would not agree with you that "ISFP's are better."
j5hp I get where you're coming from -- all I was trying to get at with that is more of how the ISFP and INFP each express their inner creativity. Both of them have the inner style and values via Fi, its just that the INFP seems to me to be more open with relating and applying their inner style to the problems in the world, while the ISFP is much less so inclined. I wasn't trying to say anything about the purity of the styles themselves. Does that make sense...?
I love your videos, but as for Bowie being an ISFP, watch his interviews. He was clearly an INTJ. There are others who make the case for this. It’s hard to type a lot of these artists simply based off their work. You have to hear them speak. Bowie was essentially a really unique, semi-crazy INTJ.
As an ISFP a lot of the time I feel like I don't necessarily belong anywhere. I have a hard time relating to other sensors in that I want a deeper connection and meaning to my interactions and I don't feel fulfilled with just talking about the new restaurant down the street or what Ashley from work is up to. the most relatable thing I have ever read anywhere, I'm glad I'm not alone. I couldn't have said it better.
Wow never thought about it this way but this sound very relatable, that why most ISFPs mistype as INFP or INTJ probably
Why can't you keep up with intuitives convo. Can you give me an example pls

+Angel Rodarte Jr. You sir, are a saint. I literally cannot thank you enough for this. THANK YOU! :)
+Michael Pierce No Prob Yo!
thank you
ISFP here, and "Late" is my middle name.
Captain-K'nuckles interesting. Could you give an example of you completing a project were such preferences were respected?
I'm ISFP and i'm literally never late, i find it to be very rude and inconsiderate. I do dislike having to do things within a set time though..
Yeah, but wouldn`t that help with the laziness?
Im isfp ,but I'm always on time ore before. My fi drives me to be on time!
best isfp video! Also, I feel like a classy person listening to the classical music station when I play your vids in the car.
Hahaha agreed 👍 he very much has a late night jazz radio voice and tone.
I never met an ENTP I didn't like, so.. (ISFP)
blackholecat I used to feel I can’t share my music with anybody because they will judge me or they wouldn’t like it because most of the time they aren’t edgy or popular or i feel someone will know my emotions through my songs list so I just share it with closed friends ^^
+andi day Assuming that my analysis in the video is correct, then that is *exactly* what that is -- sweet! Confirmation for me!
+Michael Pierce oh good, that is confirmation for me too! Very helpful video, thanks.
That’s exactly what he’s saying.
Raida Gosh, you're making me feel so good about my type, lol. Thanks for the indirect compliments!
+Joshua Scrivner sick! thanks man. :) I wish I could pay him so that he could prioritize these videos even higher!
This video is amazingggg. Little ISFP is happy.
Peregrination Hmmm, more Te than inferior Te and more Fi than tertiary Fi.... that makes an ExFP.
I’m a infj and my bf is a Isfp. Which is why I’m here to understand our dynamic
Gets lost in thought (Walter Mitty)
Super easy going.
Probably INFP. That's my initial guess.
Whoops, I'm 2 years late lol.
Why not istp?
@@stevenlaczko8688 an INFPs probably wouldn't expect people to be straight up, they are secretive and so tend to project that on others. I wouldn't bet on them to be clueless when manipulated although they could be, depends on if they've been burned by it. INFPs can also be quite judgmental If they haven't taken the time to hear the person out.
Michael let all your videos happen in your own time, Michael Angelo didn't rush, but then he is a turtle.
Seriously though these are fine fruits of your labor thank you for your contributions of higher understanding Michael.
Congrats! Nearing 6,000 subscribers, not too shabby in the MBTI UA-cam world. Keep up the good work!
I'm excited to see the INFJ, INTP, and ENFP videos!
I've never really considered the dichotomy between Se and Ni in the ISFP.. interesting stuff. Great video by the way!
Jeezus Christ Michael, this video was pretty good. >:(
As a Ni dominant with an addiction problem, what you said at 14:55 resonated quite strongly with me.
All of your videos are absolute masterpieces
Fascinating. It's been difficult to find good info about the tertiary Ni in this type, so thank you for that.
This sums up my friendship with an INFP ,me being an ISFP. It's like we conflict one moment and match the best soon enough. It's hard to explain.
Keep up the good work Michael. Great at explaining the Myers-Briggs types
I thought I was an INFP but now I have started to think I'm actually an ISFP. Thanks for the video.
I love these videos. Keep up the good work.
I like you man! Great video, there sure are insights in it I will chew on for a while.
Yes.. you're back!
VERY ACCURATE! YOU'RE AMAZING
So glad you're back and looking forward to more of this series!
It's been a long wait! Thanks!
Stay safe, Michael!
11:26 that eye is pretty satisfying mmmmmm
THANK YOU!! I've been waiting for this!! :D!!
Welcome back!
I'm so crazy excited for you to finish the revisiting series !!! :^))
WE MISSED YOU
yess thank you for uploading this awesome vid
keep being you're wonderful self
(infp)
Isfp here. Nice video. Right on target especially on te
Hooray! "Sympathetic parallelism" finally makes sense.
I think I am an ESFP but I'm not sure, because I really relate to having inner images in my mind that are intuitive, yet I am quite realistic and in touch with my external sensory experience.
Great video as always! When is the Enfp video coming along?:)
Best isfp analysis ever!!!
This is fascinating ! i totally concur with the frustrations..:(
I like your style.
i am isfp and now i have reuma. the biggest challenge now is how to make something. like knitting or painting or annything i like. my hands hurt and my knee hurts. so frustrating. Frida kahlo was isfp too. 8:51 yes that is so true.
I love your videos!
I'm loving this 'Revisiting' Series! Will you please do INTP next? :)
Thank you.
Yay my man is finally back ^^ can we still request orders in which you make the vids? or do u have it all planned out?
thanks!
+Matuvo Namiikaze I haven't completely settled on an order, but so far I've gotten requests for nearly every remaining type...so its kind of a moot point to make requests. Glad to be back, by the way! Glad to hear from you again!
Michael Pierce ok thanks^^
I had this great idea, I know it may be quite touchy to sensitive folk but i think it would still be awesome, and can also only be pulled off by someone with much skill.
You could create a series of all the types in their Backwards, or villainous state, in other words describe them opposite, point out the type's typical bad points, and maybe just a few good ones.
How you seem to do right now is; go over each function in the stack, talking about how it expresses in the type, -in mostly good ways- and then for the last function you point out maybe one or two (potentially) negative trait that this inferior function causes in the type, like infps imagining, but sometimes not doing, because of weak Te. well i was thinking you could do it backwards, point out the negative aspects of what the functions will do for a type (like enfps being sometimes unreliable due to exploratory Ne) and then for the last function, point out how this weak one often merits a specific good trait in the type. like ifps becoming relatively unstoppable when their passion is strong due to their weak Te making them determined beyond rationality (seen this so many times, its a classic for hero characters in desperate situations)
Its OK if you already too busy or not sure if you could pull it off without tipping too many people, but I still think it would be so cool, from experience I know it often helps you break a bad habit when you know many others relate ^^
Welcome back and thanks again!

+Eagle EyeStudios I would actually disagree and claim that the ISFP is more willing to assert hemselves.
+Trolle Trollkarl Can you expound upon that?
Thank you for this response. I agree with what you wrote.
Love isfp from enfp
I was just typed today as an ISFP by Gray from #augmentedpersonality so I have been researching and this video has made so much clear to me. You explained the functions and their dynamics in a way that accurately describes my processes. Thank you!
Took me a while to realize my type, great video you are awesome
Your “picture” of the ISFP reminds me of Colonel Aureliano Buendía holed up in his room making gold fish in 100 Years of Solitude.
Been waiting for months. -_- Guess I'll have to wait for more more months for the INTP. I WILL wait. :)
Michael, when is your next video? I know you have something good.
what about istp isfp couple?
Could you revisit INTP for your next video, please? You give the best information.
5:25 artwork?
Does this mean I'm screwed if I ever get a 9-5 admin desk job?
No. That's really just up to you.
Noyumi Ao I tried an admin desk job. Felt sick to my stomach every day. Depends who you are though!
Me who's an ISFP would rather die than earn a living from a 9-5 desk job . 😔🤞🏻
⭐️
Holy shit the segment on Ni made me understand how my Ni dominant function works better than the INXJ videos!
Which type are you thinking of doing next?
These videos are so great and helpful; most people don't cover cognitive functions. Do you think that you could revisit the ENFJ soon please? Thank you and have a wonderful day!
what is the use of Ni? How does it help someone?
+Michael Pierce oh that's cool. I will be sure to.
+Komatik thanks.
+jayzupp Oh wait -- did you mean to say "CAN be reduced"?
oh yeah oops, "can be reduced"* or should I say, "probably can be reduced"? :p try a 6" or more distance from the mic maybe, it has to do with something called the 'inverse square law'. it's only really noticeable when I listen to your videos on my phone while at work or while cooking. Not sure my type (INFP or INTP? depends on the day) but I watch all of your videos :) it's awesome understanding how people think, and it helps me too
+jayzupp Sweet! I'm glad you've found them so useful! That's really good to hear, glad I could help! I'll take a look at what you said here about reducing the whistling and such -- I would like to see what I can do.
Yes, it seems accurate
Thanks. Any hopes on revisiting ENTJ?
+kimjhanp Absolutely -- just not sure when at this point

Nice, when will ISTP be coming along?
+Kari Kiri Thanks -- ISTP will come along as soon as possible...but I can't promise when that actually will be. But it will come along, no doubt there.
+Michael Pierce alright, hope to see more

Hey, bro. You still alive? :P
Michael Pierce :)

Hi. Have you ever thought of rejecting the typology theory? Especially in MBTI. Or introversion-extroversion? Have you ever thought that those thing don't actually exist?
+Vince Yutuc Sure, but I haven't seen any reason to. Are you disenchanted with the theory, or just curious about me?
-INTP
Vince Yutuc meme
Reminds me of my INTP friend who said the same.
The way the message is conveyed makes the video difficult to understand. I feel like I cannot perceive your chunks of information clearly. It's as if there are no full-stops or separations in your speech (had to rewind several times to make sense at times).
Something to keep in mind when making a another video.
Basicly ISFP is better than INFP. thanks
+j5hp What makes you say that?
Hmm.. yes I think so. Thanks
wow, Grant was an ISFP? he's one of the historical figures I've long been most fascinated by and have great appreciation for. it makes sense
Makes me ashamed to share his type, considering how awful he was..wish I could be ISFJ like the great Robert E. Lee.
