I'm the proud owner of a Scott Addict Gravel upgraded with Zipp 303 Firecrests. By far my favorite bike. My other 2 bikes are a Scott Spark and a Cervelo Soloist Ultegra Di2. The Gravel bike puts the biggest smile on my face.

I have a Scott Addict Gravel 10 with Zipp 303 Firecrests. I recently put 38mm Rene Herse Barlow Pass tires that actually measure 42mm. With the addition of the wheels and tires it ticks so many boxes. I'm over here in Oregon so instead of destroying my road bike during the wet wet winters I use my gravel bike. I also use it on gravel and offroad often. Probably 50% road 50% gravel. Those longer gravel rides just happen to be on the weekend.
As far as comfort goes - if you get the tires at the right/ appropriate PSI for what you're doing, the bike is more than comfortable and fast. I had a diverge prior to this and I prefer the versatility of this bike over the diverge in almost every way. The comfort is comparable to the Diverge. If you can find one of these, I would highly recommend it. It's a bike that is hard to find flaws and so great to live with.

When the Scott Gravel Tuned was first shown about a year ago that was the bike I wanted. Searched high and low world wide for complete bike or frameset ever since without any success. Scott Sport Aus/NZ were only bringing in the 20 & 30 models which I didnt want. Then a LBS suddenly had the Wilier Rave SLR Di2 which I got as I was over waiting for the Tuned. The Wilier is a nice bike but I think the Tuned is better value for $. If and when a Tuned becomes available I'll probably still buy it. In the meantime I have to sell my Scott Addict RC20 and Canyon Grail CF SL...

Hey David, Scott has actually been making CX and gravel bikes prior to this model so they aren't just entering the gravel market.

Well I’ve been waiting a while for this one. I got my 10 5 months ago and it’s just the best. I agree with everything you have said but can verify that the tyres are pretty weak. I just put 30 mm corsa’s on for an experiment while it was sunny on Saturday and this bike is just so fast on the road. I will switch back to the 45 for the winter but really want a good cut resistant set of tyres as an upgrade.
The saddle is firm but the ride is firm. I had to upgrade the bar tape to the 3.5mm Ergon.

Are there reasons you prefer 1x other than mud buildup? I personally prefer 2x because of tighter gear ratios and longer chainring life, but would be interested in knowing if there are other benefits to 1x that I'm missing. That Classified hub really seems to be a good solution for people riding in muddy conditions - surprised that we haven't seen more of it.

I have the SRAM explr 1x group set on my Revolt. I’m getting used to the bigger jumps in gearing, but still think 2x is more versatile and faster. I do like the clean look though of 1x. If you’re racing or bike packing 2x is gonna be better imo.

Getting rid of the front derailleur allows space for wider tires. As well as a full frame bag more easily, if you're into bikepacking. Also with 1x you can get a cleaner cockpit arrangement while still running a dropper post and mechanical setup, rather than selling a kidney for electric. And, its just one less thing to break. Everyone is different, but I spend the most time on my 1x bike and I never miss the other chainring.
The reason we don't see more of the classified hub is because its overpriced, restricted to full wheel builds, and proprietary. If I were that concerned about mud, I'd just get a cheap Shimano Afline 11, or just go single speed. But people have been using derailleurs in muddy conditions for decades. Even in the clay out where I live, I've never snapped a derailleur on mud. And my that's a cheaper replacement, even a few times, than a classified wheel.

Hi David, thanks for the review, as usual very detailed and helpful. As I'm still in my quest for my new dream bike, this one is already on my short list, Just wondering if this one would be recommend for "heavy jigs", I mean over 95kgs driver (my case, even sporty but sill over 95 😉). Most review I see are considering bike specs, eventually segment (more racy or comfort, etc), kind of terrain and more, but not so much about the driver. As it is quite complex for "non UA-camrs" to test and try bikes actually, opinion and user feedback could be helpful there. Cheers from France.

Bike sounds like a more sturdy CX campaigner (as a 1x...). Just swap the 45s for 33s or 35 for Masters and voile!). Wouldn't use it for anything beyond moderate off-road abuse; skinny rims and tires...
As per 2x vs. 1x, 1x rules(!). Continuous power-band up and down the cluster vs. abrupt cadence change upshifting or downshifting the front rings.

Great review. I've always had a soft spot for Scotts as race bikes and this is a looker. But, outside the highest level of competition, I can't see carbon as the ideal material for the gravel application. It's vulnerable to damage, looks tired quickly, it's not massively lighter when whole bike weight is considered and its notoriously limiting for frame designers in a rapidly evolving segment. As a major negative, it struggles to incorporate wide tyres and sufficient mud clearance (like here). On the plus side, it does allow aero profiling and integration. Yay...

Living in the french alps, the terrain is usually the speed limit. 50 mm wide tyres are more useful than aero to cope with the conditions. And when there are no rocks, the path has bumps, tight corners and limited visibility to limit your speed. The performance criteria is more critical in climb section where light weight, geometry, stiffness is essential. Choose carefully : pick the bike that fit your rides.
